S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Orb Origin & Origin The First Confirmed for Release

Posted on February 23, 2017 at 10:49 pm by Den-O under Ultraman

The light of the galaxy has called twice this time! The recently concluded Ultraman Orb series left us all a bit confused when Bandai failed to make any announcements about S.H. Figuarts releases based on it. Luckily they’ve now swept back in with a double whammy of figures.

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Orb Origin, once thought to be Orb’s original form, is now slated for release! Set for August 2017, Orb Origin will retail for for 5500 yen and be sold at normal retail. He includes his Orb Calibur weapon as well, other accessory breakdowns are not known at the time of this writing.

Hot on the heels of that release we also have news of S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Orb Origin The First! Origin The First is a form for Orb exclusive to the Origin Saga film and is presumably the original base form for the character. While we don’t have any information on the accessories that will come with this figure, we do know that it will release in August 2017 as well, and retail for 5500 yen. However this figure in particular is also marketed as an Amazon Japan Exclusive release. So you’ll most likely need to make arrangements with a middleman service or site to obtain it.

We’ll keep you up to date as more information on this pair of releases becomes available.

I'll probaby pass. Orb's main form in the show was his Tiga/Ultraman one, which is what I want most of all. Strange that they didn't make that one be the first Figuart.

Not really. Once Orb regained his Origin form, Spacium Zepherion became just another Fusion Up. It received almost no special treatment over his other forms.

Anyway, I think I might want Origin. I need to keep an eye on this.

I wonder how much we can thank Amazon for this. I mean, Tamashii wasn't particularly interested in modern Ultraman up to now, we had that poll some time ago where they asked for it, but seeing as those are the first figures who are both the same mold and one is an Amazon exclusive - I kinda think Amazon helped them out so they could have more initial usages for the mold and Tamashii decided to use that chance to test the waters by also making a regular Orb Origin for the retail market.

Or maybe Orb's popularity was simply so high and the poll told them enough to give this a try and they just used the opportunity to also deliver Amazon an exclusive.

Anyways, whatever the reason behind the existence of these figures is, I’m really glad they are a thing. Loved watching Orb, so being able to get a Figuart is a wish come true. I’m not that bothered that they’re starting with the Origin form since that’s the true Orb anyways (and I really like the Orbcalibur), but I would also love to see more.

I think Spacium Zeperion is bound to happen at some point since it’s very similar to Orb Origin, in fact I think only the shoulders and part of the chest are different. So that’s an easy retool if they want to use this mold again, and I’d be all for it.

And then if those do well… please do Thunder Breastar and Jugglus Juggler. Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase.

I don't mind Orb getting a figuart but some of us are still waiting for Ultraman X to get some love.

I feel you, I'd love to have some Ultraman X figures too.

And I think if Orb goes well our chances of getting them aren't all too bad, especially since Daichi and X are still relevant through the newest movie.

It's worth noting that Amazon Japan ships toys internationally now. So you might not need a middleman.

I'll definitely get Orb Origin because I want more modern Ultramans and I just want them to keep making these damn things. So I'll probably end up buying both of them.

... and yes, please give me a figure of X. Please?

Man they both look incredible. Can't wait to get Orb Origin.

Just as well the First is going to be a pain/expensive to get, or I'd be tempted to pick him up too
