While Ohkuwagata Ohger has just had his reveal on Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger, the character is already receiving his own YouTube special. Toei has announced a free YouTube special featuring Ohkuwagata Ohger scheduled to debut on April 23rd, 2023.

Today, BOOM! Studios – the publisher of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book – announced a brand new series written by former and original Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger herself – Amy Jo Johnson and her partner, Director Matt Hotson. The series is scheduled to release later this year as part of the Power Rangers 30 celebration.
While Amy Jo Johnson states it was hard to keep this project a secret, she also stated on her panel at Emerald City Comic Con in December of 2021 that her and Matt Hotson had pitched a story idea to BOOM! Studios for a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic series. She shared brief story details – essentially that it would follow the current day events of our favorite heroes some 30 years later – at the time of her original announcement.
Amy Jo Johnson also states this is her contribution to the 30th anniversary of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and is one of many reasons she overlooked returning to the show for the upcoming reunion special.
The current Super Sentai series airing in Japan – Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger – is in full swing and winning over the hearts of fans. And thanks to some magazine scans we have our first look at an upcoming villain character – Ohkuwagata Ohger!
This gray version of Kuwagata Ohger (Red) is shown fighting our new favorite villainous King and fans are speculating on his very-likely identity (we won’t mention it here to avoid spoilers for those who haven’t watched yet).
We want to note – Ohkuwagata Ohger should not be considered a traditional sixth as that character will be, according to previous leaks, spider-themed.

Bandai Japan has announced another item in to the lineup from the Complete Style Gigantic (CSG) line – and Kamen Rider Kuuga fans rejoice! The Pegasus Bowgun will see a CSG release with more details (and orders) coming soon. This item will be available via Premium Bandai Japan. We do not have any details or information on whether or not this will see a USA release.

This past weekend saw the conclusion to the Super Sentai series Avataro Sentai DonBrothers. While we bid farewell to our heroes from the last year, Bandai has continued the new tradition of offering an adult-targeted collectibles in their Memorial Edition toy line.
Available for pre-order now is the Memorial DonBlaster – an adult-sized version of the DX DonBlaster. The size is roughly 125% larger than the original release, features background music from the show and dialogue from the characters. It will come with the core 5 Avataro Gears as well as Momo’s Robotaro Gear. For early pre-orders, a KingOhger Gear is included.

As the tokusatsu community continues to grow and evolve, we want to celebrate the fans who make up that community. Specifically, we want to highlight and celebrate a number of Black content creators in the tokusatsu community.
Brokusatsu is a content creator on both YouTube as well as social media with impressive a full catalogue of high-quality photos of our favorite tokusatsu characters from Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Power Rangers. On YouTube, Brokusatsu does “Brokucast”, a podcast-styled series where he shares his thoughts on the news in the tokusatsu communities, as well as product reviews.
