Recap – Our Interview with Team Rider from Bluefin Brands

Posted on January 4, 2020 at 11:32 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

On Friday, January 3rd we had the opportunity to do something really special. We held a live-streamed interview with #TeamRider of Bluefin Brands asking both questions we wrote up as well as questions we asked you for via our @TokuNation Twitter account (now 10,000 strong and growing – THANK YOU!). During the interview they were able to see your comments and respond to them real-time. We had a blast and we can’t wait to do it again soon.

Below is a recap of some of the questions/answers as well as the stream itself so you can listen if you missed it. Enjoy!

Are previous CSM Kamen Rider belts available to be released in the United States and Canada?

Bluefin Brands is limited to only what is currently in production or available at retail in Japan. If there is an item that you want to see brought back – be vocal on social media and at conventions. However, there is a good chance that any future CSM items that release will be brought over to the United States and Canada.

Why are there no releases currently planned for UK and Europe?

Bluefin Brands does not hold the rights to distribute items in the UK or Europe. They encourage fans in the UK and Europe to reach out to their local distributors to try and get the same items released there. (NOTE: We have reached out to the Bandai UK branch in hopes of getting more information and if/when we receive a response we will share it with you).

Why is xxxx S.H. Figuart not releasing in the United States?

Tamashii Nations and Bluefin Brands are two separate entities. Tamashii Nations produces a certain number of figures and allocates them accordingly. For the record – #TeamRider asks for quantities of EVERY. SINGLE. FIGURE. that is produced. Sometimes they get a yes, sometimes they get a no. Originally, they were told they were not getting S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero-One – and now he’s available for pre-order. They’re working on it.

Are you going to release the accessory items for the DX Belts?

At this time they are not in the plans – but they want to for sure. It goes hand in hand with the earlier comment about items in production. If Lock Seeds aren’t currently being produced they can’t necessarily get a run of Lock Seeds brought over to go with the DX Sengoku Driver. This is something they are looking at and working on but the short term answer is nothing right now. Stay tuned.

Bluefin Brands Saves the Day for a Kamen Rider Kiva Fan

Posted on August 18, 2019 at 9:02 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

We’ve all had those days where nothing seems to go right. When it comes to collecting in-demand S.H. Figuarts there is probably nobody who knows that more right now than Ranger Liz. For those not in the know, Ranger Liz is a growing YouTube personality that covers Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Ultraman, and Power Rangers with weekly streams and near-daily updates.

Liz, like so many of us, had pre-ordered S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva through her local GameStop store months ago after being unable to pre-order one from Japan (due to them selling out in a matter of two to three minutes). Her pre-order was secured and she was ready to go. Months went by and the figure was released – but Liz received no communication from her GameStop store. She reached out numerous times and was told her order was still pending. Finally, on August 18th, she went to the store and talked to the staff personally.

They had claimed they had tried to reach her repeatedly, leaving voicemails even, and due to a lack of communication from her, either sold it or sent it back to the warehouse. Naturally Liz was crushed. Overcome with emotion she shared a very heartfelt video to her followers about her sheer devastation regarding the one Kamen Rider figure she wanted more than any other and, after believing for so long that she had it secured, had it ripped away. To top it off – she was offered $5 store credit and nothing more for the inconvenience.

Enter Bluefin Brands.

Bluefin Brands is the distributor branch of Bandai in North America for Tamashii Nations product. They were pinged on Twitter regarding this story and, within a couple of hours, had reached out to Liz.

We’re happy to report that Ranger Liz will be receiving her S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kiva after all courtesy of the incredibly generous and endearing folks at Bluefin Brands. They didn’t have to reach out to Liz nor did they have to turn her day around – but they did and that speaks volumes.

Please take a moment to check out an awesome product they’ve put together for tokusatsu fans – a Tokusatsu Blind Box which can contain product of Power Rangers, Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, and Ultraman. For $100 you will receive three S.H. Figuarts of the above-mentioned properties. On top of that some lucky fans will also receive, for free, the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord. Click here to check it out and purchase.

Thanks for being an awesome company Bluefin!

Please Vote – Your Preferred Streaming Service to Watch Programming

Posted on May 10, 2019 at 1:58 pm by Chris under General Tokusatsu News, Kamen Rider

Attention all tokustasu fans! We’ve returned with yet another poll that we cannot disclose much information on other than it is important and we need your assistance in getting as many votes as possible.

As we all know, the era of streaming services is in full swing. You can watch practically any show, from any time, new or old, on a number of different streaming services. There’s a good chance that some of you subscribe to more than one of the popular streaming services out there. But we need your input on a simple question:

What is your PREFERRED streaming service to watch programming on?

In our list we grabbed some of the most popular as well as some of the more relevant services that have popped up lately that provide tokusatsu-themed programming or anime on them. This is not a comprehensive list and there is a chance that your personal preferred streaming service is not on the list. We simply ask that you vote on what is your PREFERRED streaming service from the list we provide.

ANYONE can vote in on the polls in our forums. So please – spread the word once again (thank you SO much for the last round of polls, we can only say your voice was heard loud and clear) and showcase what your preferred streaming service is for programming.

Click here to vote on the poll!

Thanks – and stay tuned!

Announcing PwrRngr.com – A New Power Rangers Fan Website

Posted on April 24, 2019 at 1:33 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

I am incredibly honored and blessed to announce a project that has been in the works for well over a year (and really hit the ground running in the last 6 months) – a new Power Rangers fan website created by some of the big creative names in the Power Rangers fan community – PwrRngr.com!

PwrRngr.com is part of the same network as TFW2005.com, ToyArk.com, TokuNation.com, and HissTank.com and is 100% dedicated to the Power Rangers brand as a whole from every aspect – official, unofficial, and most importantly, fan created content. You can check out a full Toy Database (Hasbro’s Power Rangers), a Comic Database (BOOM! Studios Power Rangers comics), as well as the largest Power Rangers Discord server out there where you can literally morph in to your favorite Power Ranger.

So that now begs the question – what does that mean for TokuNation.com?

Going forward, TokuNation.com will still cover the Power Rangers brand but more strictly on a toy basis due to the fact nearly every Power Rangers iteration is based upon a Super Sentai series that preceded it. Convention coverage will be on-going with coverage shared between the network per usual. The forums here will remain unchanged.

Please take a moment to consider following PwrRngr.com on all their social platforms:

– Twitter @PwrRngrSite
– Instagram @PwrRngrSite
– Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pwrrngrsite
– Subscribe to the YouTube Channel
– Join the PwrRngr Discord Server

Thank you to everyone for all their assistance over the last 18 months of planning and preparation, to Den-O for being a great friend and partner in all of this, and most of all to all the fans from TokuNation who helped inspire this project in the first place. Go Go Power Rangers!
