Saban Brands Generic E-mail to Power Rangers Alumni

Posted on May 9, 2013 at 11:39 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

For those following the developments of returning cast of previous years for Power Rangers Super Megaforce, you may remember Karan Ashley stating that all previous actors and actresses had received a generic E-mail invitation, nothing personalized, about returning to the show for the 20th Anniversary.

Thanks to Fury Diamond, a copy of said E-mail is now available for all of us to read. What’s enlightening about the E-mail is that Saban Brands states that there was no intention in pre-production to include any veteran Rangers for Super Megaforce. The E-mail continues to try to influence the past actors to return “for your fans”, and states that compensation would be very little in an individual basis.

We are complying to the request of Fury Diamond not to re-post the E-mail here, and are instead giving you a direct link to said E-mail.

Click here to read a copy of the generic E-mail sent out inviting past Power Rangers to return

What do you guys think? Given the recent backlash aimed at Saban Brands and Jonathan Tzachor by fans for what they feel is them being cheated by what Saban Brands stated would be the “most expensive” season ever at the last Power Morphicon, do you side with the actors refusing to show up because of the lack of compensation? Do you think production is being too cheap? Or do you think some of the actors could spare a four day expenditure to New Zealand for the sake of the fans?

A lot to discuss, so let’s get to it!

No Power Rangers Exclusive Ranger Keys

Posted on May 8, 2013 at 10:42 pm by Kiryu under Power Rangers

While it has been confirmed that we will be getting the Ranger Keys for Super Megaforce, news from Rangercrew Member Fury Diamond just broke out; whatever Ranger keys were used during Gokaiger are the Ranger Keys that will be appearing in the show.

Sadly, this probably means that we will not be seeing original Gokai Change footage, utilizing the Titanium Ranger or SPD Orange Ranger costumes. This also means that the Spirit Rangers from Power Rangers Jungle Fury will most likely not be seen in Super Megaforce as well.

Note that the keys photoed in this artcile are custom made by zeltrax987.

Karen Ashley Rejects Super Megaforce Offer- NO Disney Cast Too??

Posted on May 7, 2013 at 4:13 am by Paladin under Power Rangers

This video from Karen Ashley, better known to fans as “Aisha,” the second Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger, confirms that she will not be participating in Super Megaforce filming due to insufficient actor pay & the inordinate travel expense related to New Zealand filming.

In addition, Matt Austin (Bridge from SPD) has commented on the same video with the unfortunate suggestion that NONE of the Disney-era cast has received invitations from Saban, meaning he & many others will also not be back.

Thanks to Starscream Gaga for the news!

Rumor – Jason David Frank to Appear in Super Megaforce

Posted on May 7, 2013 at 12:24 am by Chris under Power Rangers

You know it was only a matter of time.

Jason David Frank, who you know best as Tommy Oliver the Green Ranger and White Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo and Power Rangers Turbo, and finally the Black Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Today, Jason David Frank, or JDF, posted the following video on his official Facebook page:

The video, entitled “What’s Next Tommy Oliver?”, showcases the Rangers that JDF has been. To top it off, JDF also posted the following regarding his upcoming appearance at Puerto Rico Comic Con 2013:

To all my Fans,
I’m sorry to inform you that I will not be able to attend Puerto Rico Comic Con 2013. Although I enjoyed my time in last year’s event and planned on meeting more of my fans this year, due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be able to attend. It was a very difficult decision, however, I have decided to partake in a new filming project out of the country that interferes with the event. This is a very important project that I cannot miss.
I am saddened that I will miss the opportunity to meet all my fans because they are very important to me. I hate to cancel any event and disappoint them. I deeply apologize to all my fans that are planning to meet me at Puerto Rico Comic Con, but I am hoping that I will be able to return on a future date to meet with you all.
Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Jason David Frank

Call me crazy but I’m pretty sure this is JDF telling us he’s now involved in Power Rangers Super Megaforce!

(Maybe he can pick up Rhett Fisher on the way?)

What do you guys think? Happy that JDF is returning to Power Rangers? Or are you sick of the series continually going back to Tommy? Voice up your thoughts and opinions! DISCUSS!

Confirmed – Rhett Fisher Denied Cameo on Super Megaforce Due to Budget Constraints

Posted on May 4, 2013 at 11:28 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

This just in from Jetbolt at our sister site of TFW2005.com!

Rhett Fisher, better known as Ryan the Titanium Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, was invited for a cameo role in the upcoming Power Rangers Super Megaforce season. However, due to apparent budget constraints, Saban Brands rescinded their invitation, and Rhett Fisher will no longer be appearing in Super Megaforce.

We got this from his official tweet:

Guess who was invited to do a cameo on PR Megaforce and then un-invited the next week because of budget restrictions. #majorletdown#titanium

This is a devastating blow to a lot of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue fans, as the Titanium Ranger was the first USA-exclusive Power Ranger, and many wondered if the suit would make an appearance in Super Megaforce. Since the actor was uninvited, it leads us to believe the suit no longer exists.

How does this strike you? Did you want Rhett Fisher to be part of Super Megaforce? Could you care less? What’s this say about Saban Brands and just how far, or how little, they’re interested in going for this upcoming anniversary season?

Rumor – Erin Cahill Not Interested in Super Megaforce?

Posted on May 3, 2013 at 8:53 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Another rumor to take with a grain of salt but this comes from an individual with ties to the professional side of Erin Cahill and her career.

kalenabear from Rangerboard.com shared some information regarding the possibility of Erin Cahill, who played Jen the Pink Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force, and the possibility of her making an appearance in Power Rangers Super Megaforce:

I did not hear from the direct source yet (meeting up next week!), but another TF ranger will likely not be returning for the same reasons as Cardenas. She was only offered to be in one scene, so it wouldn’t have been worth the time & money. I think E is also filming a small indie film this month. But who knows, Faunt may pull her into it. Again, I’m just hearing this from management!

So there you have it. After a few days of promising possibilities of favorites returning, two days in a row of a confirmed rejection (Steve Cardenas) and now a rumored rejection (Erin Cahill).

What do you guys think? Can Jason Faunt talk Erin Cahill in to showing up for a scene? Do you even want Erin Cahill to appear? Are you heart-broken that she may not? Voice your thoughts!

Steve Cardenas Rejects Offer to Appear in Super Megaforce

Posted on May 3, 2013 at 1:36 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Sad news for those hoping to see the return of Rocky, who played the second Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo.

On his personal Facebook, Steve Cardenas posted the following:

The offer was too low and there’s not a lot of character development. Just basically going to be in the background as an extra. I would’ve loved to do it but I could possibly take that amount of time away from my business for that little amount of money. I’m sorry but I believe that it’s them that’s letting the fans down because they want to get away with paying too little. I hope you understand.

The message was posted here.

What do you guys think? Is Steve Cardenas in the right for rejecting to appear for a cameo appearance? Or is he letting the fans down by wanting more money than Saban Brands was willing to offer? Let us know!

Thanks to raz for the heads up!

Rumor – Jason Faunt, Wes Time Force Red Ranger, to appear in Megaforce?

Posted on May 2, 2013 at 2:49 am by Chris under Power Rangers

It seems everyday we have new information to share about possible cast appearing in Power Rangers Super Megaforce! We only post things when we have a solid lead that it’s a possibility … we know that Saban Brands has contacted many past actors, but we only post the rumors of people returning when they drop hints.

This is another instance of a possible hint.

Jason Faunt who played Wes the Red Ranger in Power Rangers Time Force posted on his personal Facebook about the locations he was headed to for work. He mentioned Detroit. He also mentioned New Zealand and laughed about living out of hotels for awhile.

Is Jason Faunt headed to New Zealand to appear in a cameo for Power Rangers Super Megaforce? What do you think? Do you want Wes to return? Share your thoughts!

Rumor – Samuell Benta, Operation Overdrive Black Ranger, cameos in Super Megaforce?

Posted on May 1, 2013 at 12:13 am by Chris under Power Rangers

There’s bound to be some contraversy on this one. Samuell Benta, who played the Black Ranger known as Will in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive left a mysterious tweet the other day that has many believing he’s been contacted to return for a cameo in Power Rangers Super Megaforce. The tweet is as follows:

Hmmmmm a certain show has requested that i come back…. What could it be….

Now, to the contraversy surrounding Samuell Benta and why so many, including myself, wish he’d stay as far away from Power Rangers as possible.

The first Power Morphicon was a huge success, hence why it’s returned every other year since then. The entire cast of Power Rangers Operation Overdrive was in attendance. There were four official banners that all the guests signed and were going to be auctioned off on eBay with the earnings donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Samuell Benta (allegedly) took one of the banners and, on his own without the assistance of staff, went about getting signatures from all the guests. Upon the closing ceremonies of Power Morphicon, the organizers asked Benta for the banner – Benta refused to return the banner, stating he was going to keep it for himself as a souvenir from the convention. That’s right – he willingly chose to keep a banner meant to be auctioned off for sick and dying children. He admitted that he had it, that he took it, and that he was keeping it. He knew that it was going to be auctioned off for charity but still chose to keep it for his own personal collection.

So Power Rangers fans, do you want Samuell Benta to return for the anniversary season of Power Rangers Super Megaforce? Let us know!

UPDATE 02/26/2020
Samuell Benta has released a YouTube video stating that he never took a banner meant for children – that in fact he set it down and a fan must have taken it.
