Let’s Watch Wednesdays – DaiRanger, Kamen Rider Ryuki, Lightspeed Rescue!

Posted on June 20, 2012 at 10:53 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation Spotlights

Hey Tokusatsu fans! Are you enjoying our weekly feature of “Let’s Watch Wednesdays”? We hope so, as we’re having a blast catching up on older series as we await for new information on all the new stuff coming out soon (something about a Megaforce, a Wizard, a 20th Anniversary, you know, little stuff!).

Let’s Watch Wednesdays continues with Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Kamen Rider Ryuki, and Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue!

We want to watch the next 5 episodes of each series. What’s in store for the Dairangers? How in the world can Ryuki ever hope to handle anyone as strong as Zolda? And who is the Titanium Ranger?

– Let’s Watch 11-15 Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
– Let’s Watch 11-15 Kamen Rider Ryuki
– Let’s Watch 11-15 Gosei Sentai DaiRanger

The Next Kamen Rider is … Kamen Rider Wizard

Posted on June 19, 2012 at 2:36 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

Months and months of speculation have apparently been confirmed as Japanese magazine Terebi-kun has the listing for it’s next issue (via 7NetShopping.JP) announcing details of the next Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Wizard!

Details seem to indicate the character will be revealed on June 30th. Chances are there will be some leaks before then, so stay tuned as we await the next Kamen Rider – Kamen Rider Wizard!

The image attached to this news story is NOT Kamen Rider Wizard.

Gokaiger Adaptation? More Reports From Saban Licensing

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 8:33 am by Paladin under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

This report from the ongoing licensing expo gives some unusual insight into the selection of Megaforce:

You may be wondering why Power Rangers Megaforce used Goseiger rather than Gokaiger, which was an ideal season based on the successful execution of the anniversary concepts. I wasn’t able to get a solid answer for this question. They believed that Gokaiger’s pirate theme was more focused for boys (rather than boys and girls) and the concepts of stealing and plundering were too hardcore for a young audience.

Despite a grim outlook for the Legendary Pirates, an updated report suggests more to this Sentai selection than meets the eye:

They are unable to skip a season, which makes sense because Goseiger comes before Gokaiger. Gokaiger fans will be very pleased when the time is right. Unlike the Shinkenger adaptation, Power Rangers Megaforce has gone through an extensive creative process in hopes to deliver a great product for the anniversary.

What else could this mean for future adaptations, if any??? Stay tuned as we do our best to keep you informed! :)

It’s Official – Power Rangers Megaforce is Tensou Sentai Goseiger

Posted on June 11, 2012 at 7:33 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

While no images have surfaced yet from the Licensing Expo currently being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, we do have commentary from famed and credible Power Rangers fan Fury Diamond. You can find the original post at the Ranger Crew Blog, but we’ve also summarized it here for you.

It would appear that in 2013 there will be two mainstay Power Rangers events – Power Rangers Megaforce and Power Rangers 20. There was a poster for each.

The Power Rangers Megaforce Poster showcased the Goseiger suits, the Goseiger mech, and the new logo. Sorry Gokaiger fans, doesn’t appear to be any type of “merging” going on for the seasons.

The Power Rangers 20 poster is much more interesting. The poster is a close-up of the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger’s helmet, and in the visor you can see what would be a reflection of numerous other Rangers – most notably, all previous Red Rangers (including the Quantum Ranger) and in the middle of all of them, The Mighty Morphin White Tiger Ranger.

Stay tuned to TokuNation.com as we will bring you any updates and images as they pop up across the web!

"MegaForce" Source Series Confirmed??

Posted on June 11, 2012 at 2:52 pm by Paladin under Power Rangers

This new press release sheds some interesting light on the recently-confirmed Power Rangers series for next year:

Power Rangers Megaforce introduces a plot line that is sure to captivate audiences with exciting new characters, villains, and high-octane action. The new series features Gosei, a supernatural guardian who for centuries, has protected the earth with his robotic aide, Tensou. But when the evil Warstar aliens begin their massive invasion, Gosei calls upon five teenagers with attitude to form the ultimate team…the Power Rangers Megaforce!

When the teens morph into Power Rangers, they gain superhuman strength, agility, and mastery over martial arts. In addition to defending earth against the Warstar aliens, other monstrous factions emerge to challenge the Megaforce Rangers. Under the leadership of a malevolent alien, toxic beasts rise from their slimy underground lair to attack the Earth and a ruthless robot army launches an offensive from their deep sea compound. In order to face these new threats, the Power Rangers Megaforce unlock powerful battle modes to fight their adversaries. Go Go Power Rangers! – fans can look forward to all new MEGA adventures in 2013.

Tokunation Presents Let’s Watch Wednesdays

Posted on June 6, 2012 at 2:29 am by Chris under Kamen Rider, TokuNation Spotlights

We here at Tokunation are pleased to start a new weekly discussion thread entitled “Let’s Watch Wednesdays”, where every Wednesday we’ll discuss up to and including 5 episodes of various Tokusatsu series! Our staff debated and voted, and we hope you will choose one of (if not all of) the three options below for Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and Kamen Rider!

Let’s Watch Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue!
Mariner Bay is the home of this incarnation of Power Rangers who fight against demons led by the evil Diabalico! It’s also the first adaption of Power Rangers to include a Western-only Tokusatsu hero which was not part of the original Japanese Sentai series!

Let’s Watch Gosei Sentai Dairanger!
The Gorma tribe has returned and is taking over the world! Master Kaku has assembled a team of five youths with a large amount of Qi to stop them! You will recognize a lot of the monster and all the zord footage from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 as the zords, the monsters, and the White Ranger were adapted from DaiRanger to Power Rangers!

Let’s Watch Kamen Rider Ryuki
The Rider War is here! There can only be one Kamen Rider! Each has the Advent Deck which has bonded them to a monster from the mirror world. Sound familiar? You may have seen this on the KidsWB network as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Now see the story as it was originally told as we watch one of the most popular Kamen Rider series!

Every week we’ll move on to the next batch of episodes! Happy discussions!

Don’t know where to find these episodes? For direct downloads, head over to our friends at KRDL. Be sure to show your support of the only direct download site available for Tokusatsu by donating, registering, and telling your friends! If you have a torrent, your options also include OverTime Subs as well as #TV-Nihon. For Power Rangers, simply load up Netflix streaming as every season of Power Rangers is available to watch!

While all is slow here on the western front of all things Tokusatsu, what with Power Rangers Super Samurai on hiatus until this fall, there’s still plenty of new stuff on the eastern front, as new episodes continue to air for Kamen Rider Fourze, Go-Busters, and the self-parody Akibaranger!

Go-Busters Mission 15[/u]
The Beet and Stag Busters make themselves known! It’s the debut of a (two) new Go-Buster(s)! What did you think of the episode? Share your thoughts here!

Akibaranger Episode 09[/u]
What’s in store this time for our awkward heroes? Join in the discussion!

Kamen Rider Fourze Episode 38[/u]
We’re nearing the end of Kamen Rider Fourze! What happens when the pretty awesome chick Elleen is also the Aquarius Horoscope? Did Yuuki really cheat to pass to the next round of the astronaught test? Plus the identity of the Taurus Horoscope is revealed! Join in the discussion here!

Stay tuned for a special update tomorrow as the staff of Tokunation brings some classic Tokusatsu shows back as current conversation!
