We are just 1 week away from the release of the highly anticipated Godzilla 2014 film. So of course TokuNation would like to take another look at the merchandise released so far to celebrate this movie. And this piece of merch is indeed special!
You may recall that on December 28th 2013 we reported on the existence of this Light & Sound Godzilla kit. You may also have noticed that at the request of Warner Bros/Legendary on the same day, the leaked images of this figure were removed from our site. This hilarious incident has forever re-branded this figure as Cease & Desist Godzilla around the staff forums. It’s also known as the incident where I, first got us “lawyered”. Good times!
As for the figure, it’s a rather simple but fun piece with limited articulation but a decent light & sound gimmick. A sticker book containing various images of the new Godzilla is also included. Originally it was reported to be a mini-history book of Godzilla over the past 60 years. Sadly this is not the case in the final product

It's time for another look at the merch of Godzilla 2014! This time we're looking at the Light & Sound Godzilla Kit!
This fun little piece is definitely a budget item if you need a cheap representation of the king of monsters. Produced by Running Press this figure's existence was first reported on December 28th 2013. You may also have noticed that at the request of Warner Bros/Legendary on the same day, the leaked images of this figure were removed from our site. This hilarious incident has forever re-branded this figure as Cease & Desist Godzilla around the staff forums. It's also known as the incident where I, first got us "lawyered". And subsequently AGAIN a mere week later. Good times!
Onto the figure. It's a rather simple plastic Godzilla mini-figure. It comes with the tail packaged unattached and it simply needs to be plugged on. A small plastic tab in the battery compartment needs to be removed before the light/sound feature can be used. As is this is the main and well, only, draw of the figure. The tiny arms are the only articulated points on the figure.
The electronic gimmick however is nigh identical to the larger scale Atomic Roar Godzilla. The sound effect is nearly identical albeit it smaller. The blue LED is also quite bright and verrrrry blue. The button to activate this isn't visible but is instead embedded underneath the soft rubber spines on the back. And that's about it for the figure. Beyond that we have the included Sticker Book.
This book, in original solicitation info, was thought to be a 60 year history book of Godzilla the character. However, what we instead get is a sticker book of this most modern version of the character. Images of each sticker are included in this gallery.
As you can see from the comparisons at the end, this guy is tiny. Like very tiny. Ranger Key/Zyudenchi sized. at the low low retail price of $10 is this thing worth it? Sure. If you want a tiny Godzilla to play around with at your leisure and some stickers to have fun with, it's a great buy. However if you're willing to lay down a little more cash for some of Bandai Of America's or Jakks Pacifics other releases in the line, then I suggest picking one of those up as well.

Also known as "Ulcer-Causing Godzilla" and "Damn it TokuNation" in other circles.

Curious to know how the little guy compares with the Pack of Destruction Godzilla and MUTOs.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the destruction pack figures

This mini review does not adequately describe how terrible this little figure is… made of cheap, brittle plastic pieces that do not match up to each other well, an ill-fitting rubbery tail, messily applied eye paint, and only the arms swivel.
If you want a little Godzilla 2014 figure, get the Pack of Destruction. For essentially the same price you get better sculpt, better paint, better articulation, and better accessroies - a breakable building and mini fighter jet. The electronics alone are not enough to make this figure worthy of a purchase.

Kinda want this, just for the infamousness, and because its size is pretty good with other stuff.
