Classic Tokusatsu Series Headed to Netflix Brazil!

Posted on May 25, 2015 at 10:09 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, Super Sentai

In an odd bit of news it appears that a selection of classic Japanese tokusatsu will be headed to Netflix! In Brazil.

According to Jbox[/URL] the following shows will made available with at least subs and possible portugese dubs on Brazillian Netflix courtesy of the Sato Company!

Dengeki Sentai Changeman
Choushinsei Flashman
Kamen Rider Black
National Kid
Kidou Keiji Jiban
Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya
Kyojuu Tokusou Juspion

Japanese-Brazilian entrepreneur Nelson Sato, who imported such things as the Cybercop franchise to Brazil in the 1990’s, orchestrated this deal with Toei after his company released the above series on DVD previously (aside from Kamen Rider Black). An exact date for when these shows will be added to instant streaming on Netflix Brazil hasn’t been announced yet but another press release is incoming from Sato Company regarding these series and several others!

I know everyone keeps wanting these over here, but I can't help but think how hilarious it would be if they were brought over to our Netflix...with Portuguese dubs/subs.

Seriously though, good for them. They have precisely three more Meal Hero shows (they can watch in full) than we do, which makes me slightly envious.

You're not alone. I'm baffled why Toei are not taking advantage of Dramafever, Viki, and Hulu to stream their shows. I'm surprised they're not using Crunchyroll to stream these shows like 3 Ultraman shows got. Maybe somebody should show Toei these articles about Korean dramas being very popular in the US. Yes, the K-drama popularity kinda helped other Asian dramas like Taiwanese dramas and HK dramas finding audiences in the US.

I don't understand why Toei is not taking advantage of this.

Lucky Brazil. I hope Toei gets to bring it over in the US sometime soon.

These are all shows that aired in Brazil back in the 80s and 90s, the same way stuff like Kikaider and V3 aired in Hawaii back in the 70s. It's not like Toei is just randomly tossing a bunch of old shows at Brazil for no reason. There are going to be a lot of Brazilian 20-somethings who are totally going to be nostaligically bingewatching Jaspion.
