S.H. Figuarts Hakaider’s White Crow Gallery

Posted on June 18, 2015 at 11:39 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

“I will take your life.”

The evil Hakaider is one of the most memorable villains in tokusatsu history. A villainous foil in one form or another to every version of Kikaider ever, Hakaider simply wouldn’t be complete with out an awesome ride at his disposal. So today we’re taking a look back at a recent Tamashii Web Exclusive release with the S.H. Figuarts White Crow!

As Hakaider’s personal machine, White Crow is emblazoned with his emblem. However the rest of the bike is very much like the vehicle it’s based on, a 1972 Kawasaki H1 Mach III. But that doesn’t diminish just how gorgeous it looks in silver paint, or how awesome Hakaider looks while riding. As with the previous Kikaider vehicle release in this line, Side Machine, the White Crow include licensed decals, in this case a set of fully licensed Kawsaki labels!

Check out a full gallery & review of S.H. Figuarts White Crow after the jump. And check back in for our next exciting kikaider themed gallery with S.H. Figuarts Kikaider 01!

If there's one thing the original Hakaider had going for him to set himself apart from his successors it's this classic machine. The S.H. Figuarts White Crow! Based on a modified Kawasaki H1 Mach III, the White Crow was a fearsome ride for 1972. And even today it's a glorious toy. Read below and check out the gallery attached!

    Packaging
As has become the case with most bikes produced in this like, the packaging is all business as usual. The White Crow's box is modeled after Kikaider, Hakaider, & the Side Machine. Very cool minimalist artwork with one dynamic box shot on the back. Otherwise nothing new to see.

    Main Figure
S.H. Figuarts White Crow is a very straight forward release. Unlike some Rider machines released in this line, it's more or less a standard motorcycle with some new accents added for flare. At it's base the White Crow is a standard 1972 model Kawasaki H1 Mach III. A gorgeous and classic bike design in it's own right.

Here the bike is presented in fantastic painted silver with a few extra details. Primarily a set of diamond patterned bars on the front wheel. They almost appear to be Katana grips. Perhaps that's what the production staff of the show was going for? They look nice regardless of their purpose. Contrasting with the silver is a slick curved black stripe along the body of the bike. It helps to give the vehicle a bit of curvature to it, or at least it forces your eye to see it that way. It makes it feel a bit more alive.

Otherwise the only other unique feature of the bike is Hakaider's emblem on the fuel tank. Everything else about White Crow is incredibly typical like the working rear suspension and turning front wheel. Nothing else spectacular to report. Although the gauges on the handlebars are fully painted which I always love.

    Accessories
As (generally) is the case, S.H. Figuarts White Crow is lite on the accessories but gives us soemthing that's much needed:

1 - set of fully licensed Kawasaki labels! Just as with Side Machine, White Crow includes manufacturer labels to give the figure a bit more of that factory feel to it if you so choose. They're entirely optional but so so welcome as a bonus. I may never use them but I LOVE having them.

1 - set of riding hands. Most Figuarts these days tend to come with some form of "holding things" hands that while not perfect can at least double and work for this, but on occasion a vehicle includes them. In this case I'm very happy to have them and they could serve as hands for Hakaider or the recently release and very similar Gill Hakider if you so choose.

1 - wheel base. Standard size wheel base to hold the bike in place when not using the kickstand.

1 - set of additional handlebars. As usual I never have any idea why these are included.

    Final Thoughts
S.H. Figuarts White Crow is a gorgeous bike to be certain and accurately represents what we saw in the original series. But for most it won't hold any special meaning unless they were fans of the series or character. For me it's a winner, but for most I can easily see why it would be a pass. But it's just so damn nice to have it side by side with the Side Machine.

Next time we take a look at the titular hero of the second Kikaider live action series, S.H. Figuarts Kikaider 01!

I think I need to find one on mandrake and a Gil Hakkaider to go with it ...

Very good looking bike. Considering it's basically just a regular old motorcycle, I'd have no problems buying one and using it for non toku characters.

It should pain you. You've failed sir!

But seriously I'll keep an eye out for you. It's a really snazzy bike.
