“NEW OMEGA”
We took a short break but now we’re back with out first brand new gallery of 2018! At both the beginning and end of last year, we really opened our Amazons with 6 galleries from the hit series. Alpha, Omega, Jungraider, Sigma, Mole Amazon, & Neo. To kick this year off we’ve decided to start with a gallery of the Amazon Japan exclusive edition of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega!
New Omega is Haruka Mizusawa’s upgrade from the 2nd season of Amazons, and the first true upgrade for any of the riders in the show. Using the new Neo Amazons Driver, Haruka’s traditional Omega suit gets retrofitted with cybernetic parts that give him a wild and unfinished look that’s really striking. This Amazon JP edition of the figure includes all the of the standard accessories like the Neo Blade arm, an Amazons Syringe, and two sets of hands, but also comes with the exclusive Green Tamashii Flame Effects!
We’ve attached the full 50+ image gallery of Amazon New Omega to this post, but you can also check out our full review of the figure after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full thread. We’ll be back later this week with a full gallery & review of S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

'NEW OMEGA"
I still firmly believe in Amazon. After five S.H. Figuarts releases between the two 2 seasons of the popular Amazon Prime series, with 1 more on the way (Blind Alpha), I continue to be impressed with Kamen Rider Amazons. Each release up til now has been an entirely new mold, at least mostly, and each a completely new character. This release however is primarily one we've seen before, way back with Amazon Omega. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider New Omega takes the wonderful Omega mold and retrofits him with a version of the new cybernetic armored parts we first saw with Amazon Neo. Now, let's open our Amazons once again!
Packaging
If you don't know by now, Amazon.JP edition figuarts seem to be my new kink as I'll go to any length and pay any price to get them. So once again I've sprung for the Amazon.JP release of New Omega over the standard retail one. As usual this entails a brown corrugated cardboard style box meant to evoke an Amazon shipper. Other than that it's considerably larger than the retail releases' box due to the added exclusive accessories.
Main Figure
Oddly enough, despite being the 2nd rider introduced into the Amazons universe & being 1 of 4 in that world overall, Omega is the only rider to have received an upgraded form. It's debatable whether New Omega is even considered his final form because we just have no clue what to expect from the upcoming theatrical film. The point remains that arguably Haruka was the main character of season 1, most every major event leads to or from him. But with season 2 it's very obvious that Chihiro is supposed to be the focal point. So it's really odd that in a season that's primarily about the horribly broken father/son relationship between Jin & Chihiro, that Haruka is the only one of the 3 riders to wind up with an upgraded form. I know that's got nothing to do with the figure we're reviewing, but to me it's just kind of fascinating is all. Anyway, onwards!
The New Omega body is one you're probably very familiar with at this point if you've been collecting with this series at all. The basic body used for it is that of the original Amazon Omega Figuart. But influence from the Neo Amazons Driver Haruka used in season 2 has added elements of Amazon Neo's design to his armor. Now the lower half the body is actually unchanged from Amazon Omega. From the abs down to the feet, these parts are identical. The legs are totally unchanged, even to the point that the knee pads still frustratingly pop off. They still feel dynamic enough to get the poses you want and thankfully this go around the thigh swivels have a bit less resistance which I like.
The new bits start at the waist. The addition being the Neo Amazons Driver borrowed from Amazon Neo. The only difference this time around is that compound eye has been painted grey instead of yellow which makes it look a bit plain. As with Neo the Syringe/Ampule is non-removable. From here the lower torso/ab section is identical to Omega however new upper body piece has been sculpted. While similar in appearance to Neo's, New Omega's is a bit more slim, not quite as wide. New Omega's use of these cybernetic parts also features some unfinished techno detailing which was never quite explained in show. Though it greatly helps set Haruka's look apart.
In the same sense the arms are very similar to the original Omega. From the bicep down the left arm is identical to the original release. The shoulder pad is a really cool new cybernetic part that's asymmetrical from the other arm. I really like the looks of it even if doesn't make much sense. The right arm features a new forearm based on Neo's, meaning it's removable so you can equip the Amazon Neo Blade arm. This arm also features an identical shoulder pad to Neo. The back of the figure has some similar detailing to Neo but it's totally different on closer inspection. The head is the final new addition. The broad strokes of it's design are similar to Neo, but it ultimately is a remold of the original Omega's. The right side panel is reused from Neo but everything else is an addition to the original head mold. I know not everyone loves the New Omega design but I just think it's gorgeous.
Accessories
Given that this form is directly lifted from Neo, it's probably not shocking that New Omega comes with the EXACT same accessories:
2 - sets of extra hands. A bit on the lite side unfortunately. The included pairs give you two types of open hands, one set that looks a little more savage but nothing special. I'm pretty bumed there's no holding things hands. Because that means in order to get New Omega on the Jungraider, you have to borrow the hands from the original Amazon Omega release.
1 - Amazon Injector/Ampule. These syringe like items are used by Chihiro, and later Haruka, to activate their Neo Amazons Drivers. The one in the Driver is not removable, and this accessory doesn't really serve much purpose to be perfectly honest. There isn't even a hand included that can hold it.
1 - Right Arm with Amazon Neo Blade. Rather than include the blade as a separate accessory that attaches to the arm itself, forgoing the difficulty of putting the grip in his hand. This forearm is actually pretty easy to replace and I appreciate this option rather than just a separate accessory. It's a straight repack of the blade arm that came with Neo.
1 - Set of Green Flame Effects. This set is a recolor of the popular Tamashii Flame Effects tailor made for New Omega. Amazon JP versions of Alpha, original Omega, & Neo also included sets of flames. Original Omega's were also green but with a white tint to them whereas New Omega's are just translucent green with no frosting to them. Amazon Sigma, as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, also included flames colored purple.
Not too shabby. These Amazon JP editions always please me because of the flames effects. I would have liked more hands, the only real miss here is there's no Neo Hook. Amazon Neo didn't include one either. I'm sure the eventual Neo Jungraider will have one specifically for Neo, but I guess that leaves Haruka out. To be fair he never used it in show, it's just an ability granted to the user of the Neo Amazons Driver.
Final thoughts
Once again I'm really really satisfied with what Tamashii Nations has delivered. Every figure in this line has had it's own faults, but their charm always outweighs them. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega is no different. This little family of releases continues to be a very bright spot in my collection despite the dark subject matter. Currently Season 2 Alpha (Blind Alpha) is the last scheduled release for the franchise. I'd like to think with the new theatrical movie coming this year that we could see more though. The Evolved Mole Amazon & Crow Amazon are ideas that immediately spring to mind. I know it's unlikely but I'd also like to see Neo Origin & Omega Origin at some point. But we'll see. For now,
"Believe in Amazon!"

very cool, thanks for the great pics.
I also loved Amazons. I've had SHF season 2 (blind) Alpha on pre-order since the beginning of December and can't wait until that figure arrives. Jin was my favorite character.
I wonder if SHF has any plans to make a figure for Iyu/Crow-Amazon?

I ended up liking this form a lot more than I initially thought after seeing it in the show.
I love the clear visor and it looks great on this figure too.

It's basically the fiercest creatures on Earth upgraded with the best mechanics.
The suits were definitely the highlight of Season 2, at least for me.

I remember there were rumors about another Showa rider getting this type of treatment at one point. But the only other thing we've ever really gotten was the new Rider 1 suit. Sigh.

Hope you're right about an Iyu/Crow figure, I'd get that to go with Jin.
Annuga says
Nope, still don't like this design. Butchered the good one imo
Electric Turahk says
Crow is the only other release I'd really want. I get why there would be demand for Evolved Mole, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Also surprised Omega Origin hasn't been announced yet given it's just a repaint of an already released mold.
Anyway, we're here about New Omega, and... ugh. The first Amazons release I just didn't want. While your pictures are as great as always, they still haven't sold me on the suit. The tech overlay just doesn't gel with me for Omega nearly as much as it did with Neo. The flame parts are a standout accessory as always though haha.
