A new full-length trailer for the upcoming Universal Pictures film Pacific Rim: Uprising!

Set ten years after the 2013 fan-favorite original film, Pacific Rim: Uprising stars John Boyega as Jake Pentecost– son of Pacific Rim’s Marshall Stacker Pentecost- who must unite the next generation of Jaeger robot pilots when the monstrous Kaiju return from beyond the Breach.

    I hate myself for not being excited for this.

    But it just looks stupid. The first movie had this wonderful sense of sincerity to it. But the cadets thing, the one-liners, the super bright toneless fights, it all just looks like it doesn't even care.

    The speed looks wrong to me. Like all these big, heavy things are all moving too fast and lack a sense of weight and "realness" that the first movie had.

    It's just too fast and floating looking, or something. They don't seem 'Heavy'.

    I'll wait until the finished product. I agree the first was phenomenal in tone and gravity of the vfx used.

    Also, how is it that I might actually like John Boyega more in this than in Star Wars? Or that I get the feeling he's the new Shia to all our science fiction?
