Mill Creek Ultraman Orb & Geed Standalone Movie Blu-Rays Release Exclusively At Walmart

Posted on November 1, 2019 at 4:33 pm by Den-O under Ultraman

Mill Creek Entertainment has recently been rocking the Tokusatsu world with their incredibly stylish Blu-Ray releases of Tsuburaya’s Ultraman library. With Ultra Q, Ultraman, & the impending releases (on November 19th) of Ultraman Orb & Ultraman Geed, Mill Creek has already made a huge chunk of media available officially to English speaking audiences.

While the Mill Creek Geed & Orb Blu-Ray sets include both the TV series and the related film for each, there’s also going to be a slightly cheaper option for collectors. Releasing exclusively at Walmart stores in the US, will be standalone Blu-Ray (with Digital) releases of the Ultraman Geed & Orb movies. Each will retail on it’s own for $12.98, whereas the Full TV series + movie sets retail for $39.98 each. Both Film Blu-Rays can ordered currently through the Walmart website here (Orb, Geed) and will be available in stores as well.

Thanks to Sci Fi Japan for breaking this bit of interesting news!

Happy Ultraman Day indeed! As revealed exclusively by SciFi Japan, Mill Creek Entertainment (in conjunction with Indigo Entertainment) has just struck a tremendous deal with Tsuburaya Productions. Mill Creek has just acquired the *entire* Ultraman library of series and films ranging from 1966's Ultra Q all the way through to today for both physical home media & digital releases!

This announcement means that nearly every single production released as a part of the Ultra Series in the last 50+ years has the potential for both physical Blu-Ray releases as well as digital streaming options. To kick off this acquisition, Mill Creek has also officially revealed it's first two home media releases, Ultra Q and Ultraman!

Both Ultra Q & Ultraman will be released in Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-Ray series sets on October 15th for $49.98 each. Standard Packaging releases of each series will be made available on the same day for $39.98 as well. Each set will also include Digital redemption codes through Mill Creek's Moviespree streaming service! Both series have been remastered in high definition with DTS-HD Masters of the original Japanese audio, with a fresh set of English subtitles. You can pre-order each set at the following links.:

    Ultra Q Complete Series Limited Steelbook Blu-Ray - $49.98
    Ultra Q Complete Series Standard Blu-Ray - $39.98
Ultraman Complete Series Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-Ray $49.98
Ultraman Complete Series Standard Blu-Ray $39.98

This is a pretty huge announcement on a day that was already a true celebration of the franchise itself. The door is now wide open for the heroes that came after the original Ultraman to finally be available to English speaking audiences on Blu-Ray & digital streaming widely. We eagerly await Mill Creek's next announcement!

You could just import them if they are not region free if you don't have a region free player. Region fre players are pretty affordable these days.

Sweet. Is this the first time somebody licensed an entire library os a series. Usually it's just one particular show. Usually a series at a time.

It looks like the Blu-Ray set will be using the HD transfers from the Japanese sets. A look on what the Blu-Ray set will look like

As someone who only bought a multi region BD player last year can I just point out how much of a massive misconception this is? In the UK there are VERY few straight out of the box region free BD players, and those there are certainly aren’t cheap. Most BD players have the capability to be region-free, but they require the software to be tampered with prior to purchase by a third party and that in turn drives up the cost.

Most players advertised as “region free” are actually only region free for DVDs.

Besides, simply getting a region free player isn’t the point of the argument.

Nice. I'll support this as a fan of the franchise and in the hopes that they stick with it long enough to get to Max.

So this gives us Ultraman, Super Sentai, and Garo with official US releases. Come on Toei, give us Kamen Rider!
