it's not godzilla vs kong: The new empire. It's godzilla x kong: The new empire

It definitely feels like a Kong movie guest-starring Godzilla but I guess the last movie had Mechagdozilla so it's probably fair.

there's a mini kong.

I don't know, guys...I think it looks pretty uninteresting. I guess we'll see, though.

Yeah this portion of the franchise has lost me. I watched 2014’s Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island and though those were fine, but as soon as the focus became big-name monster battles my interest just vanished.
Maybe because the whole fun of Kaiju rumbles were rubber suits, practical effects and miniature work for me. CGI just doesn’t hit the same.

It's like Planet of the Apes meets Avatar, and I'm not sure if I like that comparison.
On the plus side, I love how Godzilla's new evolution feels like it's inspired by Godzilla 2000 and Shin to a lesser extent. Everything looks nice.
Buuuuut... I don't mean to be a doobie downer, but part of me is slightly concerned with how the Monsterverse will go down, since I haven't seen Monarch: Legacy of Monsters yet, but the Skull Island Animated Series was... Not good, to say the least.
I'm not trying to be negative about the Monsterverse, the idea's cool, but I really haven't been too impressed with some Hollywood in recent times. That and I wasn't a big fan of Godzilla Vs Kong, it was fun, but I think it's not that great. Yes, I absolutely enjoyed King of the Monsters (for the most part), and I am definitely more of a Japanese Godzilla fan, but I have concerns for future of the Monsterverse going forward. I also have Minus One fresh in my brain, and I have a hard time thinking this could top it. Maybe it will surprise me, and I don't want to be too negative, but I just can't shake this feeling when it comes to western media.

That said...
Hopefully I'm proven wrong and we end up with a solid adventure movie, but I'm just not feeling it right now.

Personally, I don't really like Hollywood Godzilla visually. It has a thick body and a small head. He's ugly and not scary-ugly like Shin Godzilla, just plain ugly.
