Posted on October 25, 2012 at 6:55 am by ZeoRangerV under Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, Power Rangers, Super Sentai

As the pictures start rolling in from Bandai’s 5th Anniversary Tamashii Nations event, online retailer Amiami have also begun extensive coverage via their Facebook page, as have hobby blog CyberGundam. On show are a variety of figures for the SH Figuarts line that should please both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai fans alike!

Among the displays was an extensive Kamen Rider Fourze setup, which featured all the figures release/to be released, including all 12 Zodiarts! The downside is, aside from Sagittarius all newly revealed Zodiarts look to be non-posable Figuarts Zero figures.

Next up is the “Legend of Masked Rider” display, which included Riderman, Tackle, Kamen Rider X, Apollo Geist and a Shocker Grunt among its ranks!

Also among the Kamen Rider displays is Blade, one of the highly-anticipated releases and an impressive Kamen Rider Faiz diorama including Kamen Rider Psyga!

The ENTIRE cast of Kamen Rider Ryuki is on display at the Festival, complete with Advent Beasts!

Rounding off the characters we have Kamen Rider Wizard in Flame, Land, Hurricane and Water styles!

Finally we have a number of Kamen Rider bikes! On show are Kamen Rider 1’s Cyclone, Ryuki’s Ride Shooter, Blade’s Blue Spader, Den-O’s Den Bird and Zeronos’ Zero Horn!

Metal Hero furthers its transition to Figuarts with Gavan Type-G, Shaider and Sharivan on display!

Finally on the Super Sentai things we have the reappearance of the long awaited Tyranno Ranger/Mighty Morphin’ Red Ranger, who recently made his debut at New York Comic Con a few weeks ago. Topping off this reveal was probably the most anticipated Zyu team member, Figuarts DragonRanger!

Alongside this was also a Go-Busters display, however this did not include any newly announced figures. Finally, Akibaranger also added a few new figures to its ranks – as well as the previously revealed Malshina, Delu Knight and Aoi-tan were also seen!

Check out the full image gallery after the jump, and discuss other non-toku figuart reveals (including Sailor Moon, Code Geass and more) over at our dedicated discussion thread. Keep checking TokuNation.com for more updates from the event!

Third Garo Series Announced

Posted on October 22, 2012 at 12:48 pm by ZeoRangerV under Garo

Thought you’d be seeing the last of the world of Makai Knights in Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry? Think again!

The official Garo twitter account has just revealed that a new Garo series, entitled Garo – The One Who Shines in the Darkness, is coming soon. What’s more interesting about this news is that it did not mention any of the original cast returning. Instead the main actor is said to be Wataru Kuriyama, and starring alongside him will be Junya Ikeda…better known as Gai Ikari/Gokai Silver in Gokaiger!

What does this mean, if anything, for the original Garo Kouga Saejima? Discuss the news after the jump!

Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry Villain Revealed

Posted on October 21, 2012 at 9:43 am by ZeoRangerV under Garo

The new Garo movie, entitled Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry, has just had its first screening at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Among those attending the event were director Keita Amiyama and popular Japanese actress Keiko Matsuzaka, who plays the villain of the movie.

Following on from the end of Garo: Makai Senki, Dragon of the Blue Cry sees Makai knight Kouga Saejima travelling through the Promised Land to honour the contract he made to the Makai entity Gajari. Matsuzaka plays Judam, evil Queen of the Promised land. She is a brutally evil character, but with an innocence of a little girl. She said she had fun doing the action scenes and despite celebrating her sixtieth birthday this year, she still engaged with wirework for the first time and found it to be a challenge.

Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry will be released publicly in Japan February 2013. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and discuss this news after the jump!

Gavan Web Manga #1 Online, New Novels To Follow

Posted on October 18, 2012 at 8:18 am by ZeoRangerV under Metal Heroes

With the release of the brand new Space Sheriff Gavan movie just around the corner and a crossover into Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters behind him, the original Metal Hero is enjoying quite a revival. To add to these, Akita Publishing has just released the first episode of a brand new Gavan web manga, which can be viewed online (in Japanese of course).

Not only that, but two new Gavan novels have been announced – one featuring the original Gavan, and the second featuring the new Gavan Type-G. The first book, “Space Sheriff Gavan The Novel“, continues the adventures of Retsu Ichijouji and a mysterious character named Julia. According to the synopsis, a new criminal organization named Metos appears and hijacks the Dolgiran. With the spacecraft taken, how will Retsu change into Gavan?

The second book, “Space Sheriff Gavan Type-G The Beginning“, tells of Geki Jumonji and Sherry‘s first mission together to retrieve sensitive data from a crash-landed spaceship. The book will also reveal on how Geki became Gavan Type-G.

The two novels are priced 1,050 and 2,500 yen respectively, and to be released on October 19th and 20th respectively in line with the premier of the new movie.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the first episode of the web manga HERE and discuss after the jump!

Power Rangers Megaforce Trading Card Game Announced

Posted on October 10, 2012 at 9:20 am by ZeoRangerV under Power Rangers

ICv2 recently published an interview with Bandai marketing manager Danny Satyapan, who revealed the company’s plans for a Power Rangers Trading Card Game to coincide with the release of Power Rangers Megaforce.

When asked about the game, which is due for release in February, Mr Satyapan had this to say:

The theme of Power Rangers in 2013 is called Megaforce and it’s the first time in the history of the Power Rangers franchise that the theme is about cards. Basically the Power Rangers use all of their cards, insert them into their morphers and through magic and other sorts of things, it makes them morph into different things, activates their Mega Zords and vehicles, all sorts of things.

We’re going to be creating a Power Rangers Trading Card Game that plays off of that. It’s probably the most support we’ve offered behind a CCG ever for Bandai, because it’s basically our flagship brand for the company.

Fans of Megaforce’s Super Sentai equivalent Tensou Sentai Goseiger will know that it also had a similar tie in game – the arcade/collectible card game Super Sentai Battle: Dice-O.

You can see images of the card game after the jump. Stay tuned to TokuNation.com for more Power Rangers Megaforce news in the run up to the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration!

Power Rangers Megaforce Filming Roundup

Posted on October 9, 2012 at 6:57 am by ZeoRangerV under Power Rangers

The first week of filming for Power Rangers Megaforce has just finished and Samuraicast have kindly collated all the news that has come from it. As well as cast images, it includes some info about what we can possibly expect from the latest Power Rangers series!

First up comes the news of a high-school setting being the primary location for Megaforce. Mr Yellow of RangerCrew tweeted an image of the school set to be used, which is Mount Albert Grammar School in New Zealand.

Secondly, Ciara Hanna (Yellow Megaforce ranger) tweeted that she met a special guest on set. Could veteran rangers be appearing early in the series before the switch to Super Megaforce?

Finally, Namihei Koshige, a veteran Power Rangers stunt actor, had this to say about one of the scripts for Megaforce:

In the previous season, “Samurai”, the story was pretty much the same as it was in the Japanese version, so they used a lot of places that looked like Japan. Even a few of the action scenes were taken from them. Regardless though, I went to First Unit today. Went to the Kanji consultant and the action director to go over what we had to do. I didn’t really get a chance to perform at all. “I wonder if today’ll be more of the same”… is what I thought.

But then I peeked at the script. Although it had a picture of “Goseiger”, it was mostly a fairly original story with lots to do!! So it’s been non-stop action everyday…

What else will Power Rangers Megaforce have in store? Stay tuned to Tokunation.com to find out!
