Hesei VS Showa Movie Director Revealed & Veteran Rider Confirmed

Posted on January 11, 2014 at 2:26 pm by Paladin under Kamen Rider

Thanks to the good people at The Tokusatsu Network we may finally know the director in charge of Toei’s upcoming “Hesei VS Showa” Kamen Rider Movie War!

During a livestream with actor Kento Handa (better known as Kamen Rider Faiz) a handful of new details were revealed about this upcoming project. According to Kento, the directors’ chair is occupied by one Takayuki Shibasaki– a veteran of several previous tokusatsu projects including “Kamen Rider OOO: Wonderful Shogun” and “Gokaiger VS Go-Busters.”

In addition, Kento recounts his experience working on set with Ryo Hayami- who older fans may recognize as Kamen Rider X! Hayami may be the first Showa-era character definitely attached to the film, and we hope he will not be the last.

Be sure to join our ongoing discussion to share your hopes & fears about this upcoming Movie War!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Tiger Gallery by ryan

Posted on January 9, 2014 at 10:57 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

This figure has one of two different names depending on where you first came familiar to him! To those who followed Kamen Rider Ryuki, this is Kamen Rider Tiger, a fierce warrior! For those who saw the US adaption, titled Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, then this is Kamen Rider Axe, another fierce warrior! Either way, this is the S.H. Figuart gallery of the figure brought to you by our very own ryan!

One of the coolest features of this figure is that the claw weapon accessory has each blade individually articulated via ball joint. That allows for some awesome poses as I’m sure your imagination is running wild with! Do yourself a favor and check out the full gallery!

If you liked this gallery, please share it on the social media of your choice using the buttons below! If not for us, then for our photo guys who spend a lot of time (and money) keeping up with the latest photo technology, light studio equipment, and of course, getting these hot toys to take pictures for you to enjoy!

Gen Urobuchi Interview Reveals Production Details of Kamen Rider Gaim

Posted on January 9, 2014 at 10:03 pm by Paladin under Kamen Rider

A recently-translated interview with Kamen Rider Gaim head writer Gen Urobuchi has been translated by the folks of The Tokusatsu Network and it provides several new and insightful details about the production of Gaim- and some key hints at the future of our favorite Orange Armored Rider! Highlights of this interview include:

*How was it when you first started this job?

Producer Takebe suddenly called me. I was very surprised at the beginning, they’d been planning Gaim for half a year already. I had no idea they worked so fast on tokusatsu.

*What had been decided when you finally got the job?
The belt design and the transformation concept. At that point only Banana and Grape were finalized, I was also told that they were aiming for multiple Riders.

*What’s your personal experience with Kamen Rider?
I never watched the early Riders as they aired, until Black came out. I’d never miss an episode of Black. I still watch the newer Riders sometimes.

*What are some troubles you’ve had so far?
It has to be the motif. Just look at the two previous Riders, an astronaut and a wizard. You could easily make a hero out of these things, but an orange? From the start, I had to work with something that’s not heroic at all. That was my mistake though, I saw it as a fruit. I realized I had to see it as a toy. A human finds this strange belt and plays around with it like nothing, and then slowly build around the revealing that it’s something greater than just a toy. It’s gonna become more Rider-like, slow but steady.

*What were some troubles you had with the beginning then?
Gaim was delayed one month, and started in October. This is because the power up item would clash with the first set of toys during Christmas. This meant I couldn’t introduce new items and characters until after that point.

*How did you create the characters?
I knew how I wanted the characters to be once they’ve finally grown up, so I worked backwards from that. I had to think real hard how to show they’d grow up in the best way possible. All of this will of course be covered in the first half of Gaim.

*What is your vision of a hero?
Someone that influences goodness in other people. There’s also the sense of justice, but the whole justice thing won’t appear until episode 14.  From there it will be a story about justice, finally becoming a Rider story.

What do you think of this interview? Did you find some of your questions behind the writing of this hit-series to be satisfying? How excited for you to see the continued growth of our hero Kamen Rider Gaim? Discuss it!!

If Joker wins the Battle Fight the world ends. But Tenonji will use a Trump Card in this fight, The Fifth Ace Kerberos. The one Undead created by man, not the Master. Between Tennouji and the final Category King controlling it’s power, the Battle Fight will be brought to an end.

But humans can only survive if the riders win, and if they do Hajime must be sealed too. Garren will make the impossible choice to save a life, a winner will be declared, the Dark Roach will be born, and the end of the Battle Fight will be turned on it’s head. As long as two Undead exist the battle never ends. Kenzaki will make the ultimate sacrifice, for the eternal stalemate.

Video Review of Kamen Rider Gaim Arms Change 06 Mango & Kiwi by baltmatrix

Posted on January 6, 2014 at 6:44 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

The hottest thing in tokusatsu right now is Kamen Rider Gaim, and the hottest toys from that series are the Arms Change figures, which feature transformable fruits that change from fruit to armor, just like on the show! After reports came out that stated that Kamen Rider Gaim is setting franchise records for merchandise sales, fans everywhere began to fear that corners would be cut in production for supply to meet the demand (you can’t sell toys if you don’t have any left to sell!). Our very own baltmatrix finally got his set in (ask him about SAL vs EMS shipping!) and took the time to do a video review! Check it out below!

baltmatrix is a popular video reviewer for many of YOUR favorite toys – from tokusatsu toys like the Arms Change series to Super Sentai and Power Rangers Megazords, to the always collectible Transformers figures. If you haven’t already, click here and subscribe to his reviews. This way, you never miss a beat and you’ll know when to watch out for floppy joints and what to expect when you finally get that brand new action figure you’ve been waiting for!

What do you think? Do Arms Change Mango & Kiwi meet the same standards set from all the previous releases, or are they a step above or below? Did Bandai of Japan try to be too innovative with this set, or was it just enough? Join us in the discussion!

Kamen Rider Gaim Episode 12 Poll and Discussion

Posted on January 5, 2014 at 11:07 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

After what seemed like the longest hiatus in the history of television (it was a week, but a REALLY long week!), the next subtitled episode of Kamen Rider Gaim is available courtesy the folks of Aesir Subs. When we last left our heroes, they had discovered some horrible truths about themselves, their Sengoku Drivers, and about Yggdrasill.

In this episode, “The New Generation Riders Appear!”, we rejoin Kouta and Micchy after the events from the previous episode. We also get a look in to the past of Kaito and Mai – and learn an interesting connection that they share which you just know will become a focal point of the series later on! We also catch up with Hase, who continues to deal with the events that transpired to him from the previous episode. Jonouchi and Oren Pierre Alfonzo have some screen time, and of course, the debut of the first Energy Rider! And some previews for Episode 13 that will BLOW YOU AWAY!

What are you waiting for? Come join the discussion and VOTE on the episode! And if you haven’t seen every episode up until now, you can still catch up using our Ultimate Kamen Rider Gaim Resource Thread – it has episode summaries up till the latest episode! We’ll see you in discussion! HENSHIN!

Kamen Rider Gaim, Legend Rider Arms Change Gallery

Posted on January 5, 2014 at 1:46 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Bandai is at it yet again with more collectible trinkets of your favorite Legend Heroes! The Arms Change line for Kamen Rider Gaim has proven to be one of Bandai of Japan’s biggest sellers this season so cashing in on that success with this unique set was a no brainer. Much like Ranger Keys, Rider Rings, and all those that came before it, Legend sets sell incredibly well.

Featured in Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Gaim & Wizard: The Fateful Sengoku Movie Battle the Legend Rider Arms are this years movie exclusive power up. Generally reserved for the main rider, the main 4 riders from the series; Gaim (Wizard), Baron (OOO), Ryugen (W), Zangetsu (Fourze) each receive the “Arms” of a senior rider.

With the high sales of the Arms Change line and the in demand nature of this set, surely Bandai knows they can cash in on us pretty hard by making more Legend Arms? We can only hope! To check our or full gallery of this interesting set click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. More Arms Change galleries to come this week!
