S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Para-DX Perfect Knockout Gamer Level 99 Gallery

Posted on March 14, 2018 at 3:17 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Red Fists Burning In A Blaze! Blue Chained Puzzles In A Craze!“

The latest release from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has arrived and the Bugster Parad is here to prove he’s still on Emu’s level! Using the powerful Gashat Gear Dual with a Gamer Driver produces a unique fusion of Parad’s two powerful level 5o forms as S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Para-DX Perfect Knockout Gamer Level 99!

Para-DX Level 99 is so far the 2nd figuart we’ve gotten of this character (along with the L Mighty Brother), but this time it’s quite a bite more of a unique one. Level 99 is a powerful and imposing looking form with an array of special abilities. In figure terms, Level 99 is a gorgeously ornate figure that despite the loincloth/skirt has a dynamic range of movement that brings him to life. Armed with the Gashcon Parabragun and 3 sets of hands, Para-DX Level 99 should be a welcome addition for any Ex-Aid Display.

We’ve attached the full gallery of 60+ images to this post, but you can also check out our full review of Para-DX Level 99 by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back in the near future with a trio of galleries from Pacific Rim Uprising as well some from Kamen Rider W and the original Kamen Rider TV series.

Soul of Chogokin SOC GX-76 Zyuranger Daizyujin/MMPR Megazord Gallery

Posted on March 3, 2018 at 10:13 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Appear Daizyujin!”

We know this one’s been out for a while, but when you’re dealing with something this incredible, it takes a bit of time to do the job right. So we’ve taken our time and shot an in depth gallery of nearly 200 images, with a full length 7 part review of this fantastic release. It’s well past time we share with you our in depth look at the Soul of Chogokin SOC GX-76 Daizyujin! Of course for the western collectors out there this is none other than the MMPR Megazord!

Daizyujin is that most iconic of Sentai mecha to those of us in the west. It’s gone through various toylines, updates, and revisions over the years, and finally Tamashii Nations has tackled it with an entry in their long line of SOC’s. This figure sat out to recreate the iconic designs of the 5 Guardian Beasts and their two combined forms using modern engineering. The results are near flawless. We have a die-cast laden, poseable, proportionate, and imposing figure to add to our collections. Special note, our review piece today (provided by the infinitely generous TokuChris) features the western Bluefin distribution exclusive packaging. Consisting of new MMPR themed box art.

We’ve attached the MASSIVE 195 image gallery of SOC Daizyujin to this post. But you can also read our lengthy review of this set by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. This gallery & review were a labor of love for me. And if you’re a fan of Zyuranger or MMPR, I hope it does the job of making you want this set.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form Gallery

Posted on February 28, 2018 at 5:51 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Best Match!”

Tamashii Nations has just released the formula for victory with the first entry in the Kamen Rider Build figuarts subline! Our titular hero himself arrives as S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form!

Build Rabbit Tank is our first experience with this line and as such needs to set the bar for where it goes from here. Many people were disappointed when this figure was announced because of the lack of the Build Crusher weapon in either of it’s forms. Honestly the accessories are very lite, including only 2.5 sets of hands. Luckily Kamen Rider Build makes up for this to me by being a very well designed and proportioned figure. He seems to have jumped right off the screen. Opinions will of course vary, but thus a figure that I think will look great in any collection.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our full review thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with a trio of galleries from Kamen Riders W & Ex-Aid as well as Zyuranger!

S.H. Figuarts Hakaider Squad Pre-Production Factory Sample Gallery

Posted on February 25, 2018 at 1:22 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

In the last 7 years I’ve had the opportunity to review some seriously unique and interesting pieces for this website. Honestly though I think nothing has ever been quite as unique as what I have to share with you today. I’ve recently come into possession of  a special Pre-Production Factor Sample of the S.H. Figuarts Hakaider Squad! While Kikaider & Hakaider related products may not necessarily be something of personal interest to each of you, this figure offers us a rare look at what goes into the process of creating a repaint and remold of a previous release.

Yes, this figure is indeed a true blue working sample used to model new parts. At it’s base level it’s your standard Hakaider body. But after disassembly and study, you can see several areas where new parts from the final Hakaider Squad figures were integrated for testing purposes. The new biceps and face are dead giveaways. More than that though we also have the anti-theft paint job, as well as the trademark hole drilled through the figures’ chest that numerous Tamashii display samples have had through out the years.

We’ve attached the full 40 image gallery of this unique item to this post, but please read through the in depth breakdown of what makes this factory sample what it is after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full thread.

Next time, “Rabbit! Tank! Best Match!”

Lupinranger – Sentai Hero Collection Lupin Red, Blue, & Yellow Vinyls Gallery

Posted on February 23, 2018 at 4:10 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Masquerase!”

Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger is about to enter it’s third week. So continuing our coverage of the merchandise released so far, we’re revisiting the show with 3 more entries in the Sentai Hero Collection line of vinyls. Lupin Red, Lupin Blue, & Lupin Yellow!

As with the Patrangers these Hero Collection vinyls offer an affordable option for you to own your favorite characters that may not necessarily receive figures in other toylines. In many cases these vinyls offer 1 of few, if not the only option for you to collect a particular hero. That was what drove me to pick them up myself. The Lupinranger designs are very slick, if a bit more limited in this line than your average release. Vinyls may not do much, but as static display pieces they get the job done. Be sure to go back and check out our Patrangers gallery as well!

We’ve attached over 35 images to this post, but you can also check out the full review after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time we’ll be back with the formula for victory with a gallery from Kamen Rider Build!

Patranger – Sentai Hero Collection Patren 1, Patren 2, & Patren 3 Vinyls Gallery

Posted on February 16, 2018 at 10:02 am by Den-O under Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Patrize!”

As Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger is about to enter it’s second week, much of the Q1 merchandise for this unique series has hit retail. Beginning our coverage of the merch, we’re kicking things off with 3 of the first releases  for the series in the Sentai Hero Collection line of vinyls. Patren 1, Patren 2, & Patren 3!

Following in the footsteps of a long tradition, these new Patranger entries in the Hero Collection series provide cost effective options for you to own your favorite characters. In many cases these vinyls offer 1 of few, if not the only option for you to collect a particular hero. That was what drove me to pick them up myself. The Patranger designs are very solid, and represented well in this line. Vinyls may not do much, but as static display pieces they do just the trick. Which is exactly why I’ll also be picking up Patren Ugo in a few weeks.

We’ve attached the full 40 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out the full review after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Our next gallery for this special VS series will be focused on the Hero Collection vinyls of the 3 Lupinrangers!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Snipe Simulation Gamer Level 50 Gallery

Posted on February 7, 2018 at 1:19 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“50th tactic”

Thanks to the Gashat Gear Dual Beta, Taiga Hanaya has attained a new level of power! It’s time to simulate some bang bangs, sink some battleships, and give new meaning to what Kancolle is with S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Snipe Simulation Gamer Level 50!

Snipe Level 50 is now our third outing with this mold and I have to say, it may be my favorite yet. While the new Simulation Gamer armaments may seem bulky and obtrusive, in reality this figure is every bit dynamic to me as the previous two Snipes. Maybe even more so. Snipe Level 50 has gained two new battleship halves in lieu of fists, and two sets of shoulder mounted cannons/turrets to round out his arsenal. These surprisingly articulated parts go along way to selling me on this release far more than I ever imagined. While lite on accessories (just one), Snipe Level 50 is a fantastic addition to any Ex-Aid collection.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full length review after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with more new galleries from Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, Kamen Rider W, and more!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 Gallery

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 4:51 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Riderrrrrrrr, henshin!”

While this release just barely made it’s way out at the end of 2017, it’s already set the bar very high for where figures for 2018 should be. After 10 years of S.H. Figuarts, and numerous releases in one form or another of this character, Tamashii Nations has finally made the definitive figure of Takeshi Hongo’s heroic rider form. We thought it only appropriate that on today, what would have been Shotaro Ishinomori’s 80th birthday, we share our gallery of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

From the ground up, Seihou Rider 1 is the ultimate representation of this character in 1/12 scale form. Faithfully recreating Kamen Rider 1’s most iconic look in his “Shin” costume from later in the original TV series, this appearance is how Hongo has appeared for nearly all of his appearances since it’s debut well over 40 years ago. Elevating the engineering of figuarts once again, this Shinkocchou Seihou release manages to capture the wonder of this costume perfectly and translate it’s essence into a dynamic action figure any collector should be proud to own.

We’ve attached the FULL 100 image gallery to this post, but you can also see our extensive review in the thread linked below. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” below to see the entire gallery thread for S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo (Kamen Rider 1) Gallery

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 11:38 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Henshin!”

For the last 47 years, Japan & the world have been safe guarded thanks to the selfless actions of heroes known as Kamen Riders. Among their ranks, one stands above as the most iconic character the franchise has ever produced. The original Kamen Rider himself, Takeshi Hongo! After 10 years of various Kamen Rider 1 S.H. Figuarts releases, Tamashii Nations has finally released what is sure to be a centerpiece for many collections with S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

Joining Dan Moroboshi & Retsu Ichijoji, Hongo is the first civilian form Kamen Rider figuart to be released. Based on one of Hongo’s more iconic looks in his dashing black suit, this figure features the stunning likeness of actor Hiroshi Fujioka circa 1971. To replicate Hongo’s transformation into Kamen Rider 1, a really unique effect sheet is included, as well as several sets of hands. This release may seem a bit lite on accessories, but it’s honestly just right. Bringing to life the early days of Kamen Rider like this is just really refreshing as well. I love buying my modern riders too, but seeing the Showa era continue to receive this level of love is wonderful.

We’ve attached the full 70+ image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full review of Takeshi Hongo as well by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll back next time with a brand new gallery of the hotly anticipated S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!
