Some more catalog images from the upcoming 17th Hesei Rider series have surfaced online, giving us some details regarding the arsenal of Kamen Rider Ghost!

Ghost (and the still-unseen Kamen Rider Specter) will transform using the Ghost Driver! This belt device will be sold with two Ghost Eyecons- the Ore Eyecon and the Edison Eyecon.

Next up is Kamen Rider Ghosts’ personal weapon- the GanGan Saber! According to recent rumors, the Saber can transform into several alternative configurations based on whatever Eyecon is used by Kamen Rider Ghost. By charging this Saber along with the Ghost Driver, Kamen Rider Ghost can perform the Omega Break attack! The GanGan saber will be sold with the Musashi Ghost Eyecon.

Last but certainly not least, is the weapon of Kamen Rider Specter- the GanGan Hand! This weapon appears to be a shotgun with a hand mounted on the front of the barrel, potentially for long-distance attacks. The GanGan Hand is packaged with the Specter Ghost Eyecon and can also perform an Omega Break attack.

A handful of new images for the 17th Hesei-era Kamen Rider have surfaced online!

These updated catalog shots give us the best look yet at Kamen Rider Ghost along with two new forms!

*One headshot shows Ghost in yellow with modified eyes. At the moment some fans theorize this helmet may belong to the rumored Edison Eyecon.

*Another catalog image shows Kamen Rider Ghost using the Robin Eyecon! This form is primarily green and seems to be armed with a new weapon. Though no other images are available at the time of writing, translations of the available scans suggest that Ghost will also have a red form and a blue form.

Yet another new scan for the 17th Heisei Kamen Rider has surfaced online! This time we have learned the backstory for the upcoming series:

*Kamen Rider Ghosts’ real name is Tekuuji Takeru, a young man training to be a Ghost Hunter who receives the Ore Eyecon from his (supposedly deceased) father.

*When trying to protect the Eyecon, Takeru is killed by a Ganma– a monster from another world! In order to protect others from the Ganma, Takeru is given a secondary life and- by using the Eyecon with the Ghost Driver– is reborn as a Kamen Rider!

*Once reborn, Takeru must travel the world to collect the Eyecons of 15 Great Men in 99 Days, to earn one wish. But along the way, Takeru finds himself in a war that may change the fate of the entire world…

After yesterdays surprise reveal of the 17th Heisei Kamen Rider we now have some more initial rumors about the upcoming Kamen Rider Ghost! These rumors are currently posted at Heroshock and have yet to be corroborated, so for the time being take them with a healthy dose of skepticism.

– The Ghost Eyecons which contain the spirits of the dead and allow Ghost to switch between his forms will house the spirits of dead historical figures. The rumored names for these Eyecons being: Robin Ghost Eyecon (Robin Hood?), Billy The Kid Ghost Eyecon, Toutankhamun Ghost Eyecon, Beethoven Ghost Eyecon, Nobunaga Ghost Eyecon, Benkei Ghost Eyecon, Musashi Ghost Eyecon, & Edison Ghost Eyecon.

– The main Eyecon used by Ghost is the Ore Ghost Eyecon. The forms themselves are know as Souls. So his base form will be Kamen Rider Ghost Ore Soul. In this case Ore is read as “o-ray” or more literally translated the word “I”. So the Ore Eyecon is most likely Ghosts very own ghost/soul.

– Ghost wields two weapons, the Gangan Saber & Gangan Hand gun.

– This series we’ll also see a return to the rider having other devices. In this case called Ghost Gadgets. They are the Condor Phone, Cobra Mobile, Bat Clock, & Spider Lantern.

– Ghost’s Rider Machine will be called the Igunana Ghostriker.

– And the rumored secondary rider for the series will be Kamen Rider Specter!

And here we are folks, the first look at 17th Heisei rider, Kamen Rider Ghost! After months of speculation and false information we have our very first look at the character thanks to a toy catalog scan!

Kamen Rider Ghost uses the Ghost Driver to transform. When inserting a Ghost Eyecon into the driver the spirit of a ghost is absorbed and projected onto the users body in the form of a hood/jacket. This construct with a face mask covers the suit from behind to create the primary look of the rider. An orange and black with a horn, a hero fit to premiere around October. Though if translations are correct not only will Ghost appear first in Kamen Drive: Surprise Future, but his show will premiere in late september!

These images also give us our first look at the Ghost Driver and Eyecons themselves. The Ghost Driver features a lever on the right side that needs to be pulled back to accept an Eyecon then pushed back into to activate the gimmick. And the Gangan Saber is Ghost’s primary weapon.

This one is a little out of the ordinary for us but it was still pretty awesome either way. During San Diego Comic Con 2015 we spent a lot of time chatting with Bandai America, both casually and on the record about the future of the franchise and so forth (click here to see our on-the-record interview!). One of the cool things they mentioned was that the Dino Charge Megazord that has been at all their booths during this year’s convention cycle is the actual Kyoryuzin suit used in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger!

That’s right – Bandai America paid to have Toei ship the suit for Bandai America to show off during the convention cycle. You know what that means? Remember the image of our own Sentai Tamashii holding the Dino Charge Megazord sword at this year’s Toy Fair? It means he was holding the screen-used weapon from Kyoryuger.

Wow!

So if you’re headed to New York Comic Con 2015 this year, be sure to reach out and gently touch this awesome piece that will one day find its way back to Toei for storage in the museum!

In a similar fashion to last years Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger news, the fine people at Shout! Factory have just dropped another bombshell on the tokusatsu fandom. When asked by a fan in the audience at tonight’s San Diego Comic Con 2015 panel, “Will we get a new tokusatsu title?” they were able to reply yes. And that title is Gosei Sentai Dairanger!

Fans in the west will undoubtedly recognize the footage from this show as it was utilized for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 as well as the character Kiba Ranger who was adapted as the Mighty Morphin White Ranger. Still yet people may recall the “new powers” of Power Rangers Super Megaforce where the Dairanger suits were shown on American TV for the first time.

For now it’s safe to assume that this DVD set will follow the same formula as Shouts Zyuranger DVDs at a similar price point for  the entire series in one set.

Not to be outdone by the treasure trove of San Diego Comic Con 2015 coverage, a pair of new reveals has just come our way courtesy of the @gaim_gaiden twitter account!

From the upcoming 2nd Gaim Gaiden V-Cinema we have 2 new rider forms! The first is a new form for Team Baron’s Kamen Rider Knuckle. Through the use of the Marron Energy Lockseed Zach can access Knuckle Jinba Marron (Chestnut) Arms! This powerful new form is of course similar to Gaim’s Jinba Lemon and replaces Knuckle Kurumi Bombers with the appropriately size and nasty looking Marron Bombers!

And everyone’s  favorite evil professor has also returned with a bit of a downgrade. Flashing back to his development of the Kamen Rider Drivers we’ll see Ryoma don his very own Sengoku Driver with a standard Lemon Lockseed to become Kamen Rider Duke Lemon Arms! Taking on even more of a knight motiff than his Energy Rider form, Duke Lemon Arms sports new symmetrical armor as well as a rapier-like weapon.

Gaim Gaiden Kamen Rider Duke/Kamen Rider Knuckle will be released on DVD & Blu-Ray this November!

Several new items relating to the DekaRanger- 10 Years After V-Cinema project have been revealed!

The story begins when the DekaRangers’ boss, Doggie Kruger is accused of a serious crime. BanBan (the original DekaRed) is sent by the Fire Squad to investigate and in the process reunites the DekaRanger team.

A number of guest stars have also been confirmed for this project:

*Ryusei Nakao will be returning to play the DekaRanger’s old enemy, Agent Abrella.
*Yuto Uemura, who had a minor role in two early DekaRanger episodes, will return as DekaYellow’s husband.
*Takumi Tsutsui (best known as the Metal Hero Jiraya) will play a criminal pursued by Doggie Kruger.
*Isao Sasaki– the singer who performed the original series’ ending theme Midnight DekaRanger will have a minor role.
