Secretcode, a news team member at sister site TFW2005, was able to get an awesome interview with a rep at BlueFin Tamashii Nations USA. It’s a fantastic read that touches on everything from how their partnership came about, Power Rangers, S.H. Figuarts, S.H. MonsterArts and more.

TokuNation.com Presents Let’s Watch Wednesdays – Part 2

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 8:49 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider, TokuNation Spotlights

Hey Tokusatsu fans! Last week, we invited you to join our new weekly feature titled “Let’s Watch Wednesdays” where each Wednesday we begin the task of watching more episodes of past Tokusatsu series!

Last week we watched Dairanger 1-5, Kamen Rider Ryuki 1-5, and Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue 1-5! Discussions have already started regarding these past series! What did you think? Is Dairanger holding up against Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2? Is Kamen Rider Ryuki superior to Kamen Rider Dragon Knight? And is Lightspeed Rescue as good as we remember it?

This week we continue with the same series!

  • DaiRanger Episodes 6-10
  • Kamen Rider Ryuki Episodes 6-10
  • Lightspeed Rescue Episodes 6-10

You can find your Sentai and Kamen Rider series via Torrent through your favorite subbing groups, or for direct download at KRDL.INFO. For Power Rangers, simply check out Netflix streaming on your PC, SmartPhone, or favorite Video Gaming console.

More Details on Power Rangers Megaforce, New Images

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 7:41 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

We have even more details and some new images to share with you on the upcoming Power Rangers Megaforce! Before we continue, a huge special thanks to Fury Diamond of Samurai Cast Blog and RangerCrew for all the information and pictures he’s taken. Without his effort there’d still be a lot of questions waiting to be answered.

Click the title of the story to check out some more new images of Power Rangers Megaforce!

Now on to the good stuff!!

  • Power Rangers Megaforce will span two seasons, 20 episodes and 2 holiday specials each, for a grand total of 44 episodes
  • Power Rangers Megaforce will run through 2014
  • The MMPR White Ranger in the 20th Anniversary Poster is there simply for marketing purposes, nothing more
  • Goseiger adapted because Saban is “unable” to skip a season
  • ”Gokaiger fans will be very pleased when the time is right” – Fury Diamond upon his off-the-record conversation with Saban Brands
  • Power Rangers Megaforce to have an original story compared to Tensou Sentai Goseiger … for starters, the heroes are five teenage high school students. The show will still use Sentai footage, but the story will be “completely new and original”. Megaforce will surprise fans.
  • Placeholder name for Gosei Knight is currently Robo Knight
  • Robo Knight will appear earlier in Megaforce than Goseiger
  • “Megaforce Season 2 will be crazy.” – Saban Brands
  • Megaforce will be featured this year in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

There’s a lot of information there to digest. The important thing to take away is the incorrect information from yesterday – Goseiger was NOT selected because Gokaiger is too boy-focused and features unattractive themes like plundering/looting. Regarding some of the quotations from Saban Brands regarding Megaforce and Goseiger…

…need I remind everyone at the start of Power Rangers Samurai, the cast was on record stating “we are different characters than the Japanese series, it’s a different show entirely.” It turns out, Power Rangers Samurai is a direct episode-by-episode, line-by-line translation of Shinkenger.

Time will tell what we have in store for us. If the only change to the story is five high school teenagers compared to five angels, it’s going to be a long two years. Unless of course you thoroughly enjoyed Goseiger, in which case, you must be pretty excited! (we’re talking about you Sentai).

Enjoy!

Gokaiger Adaptation? More Reports From Saban Licensing

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 8:33 am by Paladin under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

This report from the ongoing licensing expo gives some unusual insight into the selection of Megaforce:

You may be wondering why Power Rangers Megaforce used Goseiger rather than Gokaiger, which was an ideal season based on the successful execution of the anniversary concepts. I wasn’t able to get a solid answer for this question. They believed that Gokaiger’s pirate theme was more focused for boys (rather than boys and girls) and the concepts of stealing and plundering were too hardcore for a young audience.

Despite a grim outlook for the Legendary Pirates, an updated report suggests more to this Sentai selection than meets the eye:

They are unable to skip a season, which makes sense because Goseiger comes before Gokaiger. Gokaiger fans will be very pleased when the time is right. Unlike the Shinkenger adaptation, Power Rangers Megaforce has gone through an extensive creative process in hopes to deliver a great product for the anniversary.

What else could this mean for future adaptations, if any??? Stay tuned as we do our best to keep you informed! :)

More Power Rangers Megaforce Details Emerge

Posted on June 12, 2012 at 5:20 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

It’s been a busy couple of days at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Yesterday we learned that Power Rangers Megaforce would be an adaption of Super Sentai Goseiger, which has sparked quite a bit of contraversy around the Power Rangers fan community – speculation and expectation had a majority of people thinking that the 35th Anniversary Super Sentai Gokaiger would be adapted for the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers. The latter series involved a form of spandex heroes who had the ability to morph in to previous Rangers to battle an evil empire intent on taking over the Earth.

The folks at RangerCrew are in attendance at the Licensing Expo and had a chance to sit down and talk with Saban Brands about a number of things. We’ve summarized them below. Check out the RangerCrew link for their write-up.

[*]Power Rangers Megaforce to span 22 episodes including holiday specials
[*]Saban and Bandai to be in attendance at Power Morphicon, including the cast of Power Rangers Super Samurai
[*]Saban planning big 20th Anniversary celebration at San Diego Comic Con, including the teaser trailer for Power Rangers Megaforce
[*]Power Rangers to begin airing 1-2 episodes every Saturday this fall on 4Kids TV, which is in the process of being purchased by Saban Brands
[*]Saban plans to interact directly with longtime Internet forum fans of Power Rangers with a number of events to be announced later
[/list]
