Akibaranger Season2?

Posted on November 8, 2012 at 9:37 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai

Hey! Have you heard the hot rumors about Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger the Movie: Treasure of the Maid Empire? Well that’s all they are! Rumors of an Akibaranger feature film were actually fabricated by the shows production staff! It was an elaborate gag that began as a joke on twitter and played out quietly at Tamashii Nations 2012. They even went so far as to produce fake movie posters, tickets, and an Akiba Red giveaway mini figure!

However, don’t let this get you down as the rumor mill has begun churning again across the web. A certain reliable poster on 2chan is letting it leak that Toei is secretly filming an Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger Season 2! Think this could be too good to be true? Well this individual has leaked very reliable rumors in the past relating to Kamen Rider Fourze and the Eternal V Cinema. There’s a chance my delusional brothers and sisters that this is happening! A chance for more of the fan favorite, critically and commercially successful, series to return! Stayed tuned for more info as it becomes available.

Posted on November 6, 2012 at 6:02 am by ZeoRangerV under Super Sentai

While we saw several new Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger items at the 5th Anniversary Tamashii Nations event a few weeks back, there was one thing that seemed to slip under everyone’s noses. Among the recent Amiami facebook page update to their gallery of the event, they have uploaded an image of a 1/1 scale Deka-Wapper, the inordinate power of the Dekarangers and first component to the inordinate cannon!

Will the Deka-Wapper see release, along with the Akibaranger ranger keys and various other new items seen at the event? Only time will tell, but in the meantime check out the full sized image after the jump!

2005 Network News – RUMOR: Disney Interested in Hasbro Inc?

Posted on November 5, 2012 at 6:10 pm by Chris under Network News and Updates

From time to time we like to post news from our 2005 Network sites that we are a part of – TFW2005.COM, HissTank.com, ToyArk.com, and Thundercats.WS. That being said, there’s a major rumor circling the Internet today and we wanted to share it with everyone here … seeing as there’s some history in the world of Tokusatsu when someone mentions the House of Mouse, or Disney.

From MTV Geek News:

“OK folks, take this one with a grain of plastic for the time being. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for roughly $4 billion last week and Marvel for around the same price a few years prior. Well, we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.

From what we’re told, these are still just discussions at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry. “

The company Hasbro Inc. is the owner of two major franchises that our 2005 Network covers – Transformers and G.I. Joe. Whereas when Disney purchased the Saban Entertainment library and got Power Rangers television rights out of it, Hasbro is the sole owner of Transformers, G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, and more. Not only that, Hasbro makes the toys for those said franchises (not to mention both Marvel and Star Wars). To sum it up, it would be like if Disney purchased TOEI, Bandai, and Saban Brands in one foul swoop.

Share your thoughts and your comments for our Transformers and G.I. Joe fans! Should they be excited about this possible development? Or should they fear that Disney is going to end the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, as well as G.I. Joe and COBRA, forever?

Mecha and Figure Images of Chinese Tokusatsu Jushen ZhanJiDui

Posted on November 4, 2012 at 10:43 am by Chris under General Tokusatsu News

Nearly half a year ago the Tokusatsu fan community was ablaze over a new show that seemed to mimic Super Sentai from the country of China. We saw some behind the scenes images of new heroes, new “zords”, and in all honesty, they looked pretty good.

Then there was silence.

But now there’s some images of the figures and mecha from Taobao.com!

Taobao.com has uploaded numerous images – all six of the new heroes (Red, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Black, Yellow, Green) as well as three combinations of zords (Giant Team Robot, Sky Team Robot, and Earth Team Robot) as well as the henshin devices (scrolls). All in all, it looks pretty good!

Jushen ZhanJiDui is said to air sometime next year in China. Click the title bar of this story to check out all the images!
