If anyone took the time today to watch Power Rangers Super Samurai while it was airing on Nickelodeon, you would have caught two new Power Rangers Megaforce clips! Sadly there’s not much new to say about the trailers … except in one trailer “It’s morphin time!” has been replaced with “Go go Megaforce!”.
So what IS the morphing call for this new season? Guess we’ll have to wait until February 2nd for the premiere of Power Rangers Megaforce!
Enjoy the videos below. Courtesy of Fury Diamond and our good friends over at RangerCrew/Megaforce Cast!

Anxious to see the first appearance of Juuden Sentai Kyoryuger, straight from their cameo appearance in the current Sentai film Go-Busters vs. Gokaiger? Sadly, you’ll have to wait a few months yet for that cameo… but even if you can’t hit a Japanese theater to see them for yourself, we do have something to tide you over until Kyoryuger officially starts!
Courtesy of news sleuth DecaEnd, we have an audio-only clip of their cameo appearance from the film! A very eager Kyoryu Red shows up on the scene to help Captain Marvelous and the rest and… well, listen for yourself (DecaEnd has graciously included English captions)! In the wake of the first teaser hitting earlier today, the Nickelodeon Megaforce web page has put up several new bits of information, including character bios for the five main Rangers.
Troy Burrows is a born leader, though he may not know it yet. His tough upbringing made him responsible and focused, and it shows in his incredible martial arts skills. As the new kid in town, he’s kind of a loner at the start, but makes fast friends when he joins up with the Megaforce. Troy is compassionate and loyal, and a true champion of the underdog. But mess with the Red Ranger’s friends, and you’re in for a fierce fight with his Dragon Zord!
Noah Carver may be a tech geek, but his wits make a fierce weapon against Earth’s alien invaders. What he lacks in physical coordination he more than makes up for in brainpower, and with his more socially savvy best friend Jake at his side, these two make the perfect team. Sure, Noah may prefer studying up on the supernatural to engaging in battle, but the Blue Ranger’s fearsome Shark Zord is no sci-fi fable.
Jake Holling is out-going, optimistic, fun-loving, and fearless when it comes to both the battlefield and social situations. He loves being the Black Ranger and saving the world with the help of his Snake Zord, but sometimes he wishes he could make his superhero identity public. His one weak spot is his huge crush on the Yellow Ranger, but he’s determined to make her fall for him one day!
Gia Moran is labeled as ‘Miss Perfect’, and it’s hard to argue that it’s the truth. Pretty, personable, and a powerful martial arts fighter, Gia is as intelligent as she is confident. She’s been best friends with Emma since they were little, and that’s not going to stop just because they’re in different social cliques now. The Yellow Ranger’s constant success can be frustrating to her teammates, but she and her Tiger Zord are dependable to the end!
Emma Goodall is totally in tune with nature, and always on the lookout to protect the environment. So when aliens start attacking her home planet, she takes it VERY personally. She may be sweet, but underestimate this BMX biking chick and you’ll find yourself at the mercy of the Pink Ranger’s Phoenix Zord!

While interviewing Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro, Indiewire let out that there is a sequel being worked on, in its early stages:
Indiewire: You’re in the very early stages of a “Pacific Rim” sequel. If you do that would you shoot it in native 3D?
Guillermo del Toro: Yes. Provided, at that point, that the technology is becoming easier and easier…
He then talked about 3D conversion:
Indiewire: Initially you didn’t want it to be converted…
Guillermo del Toro: Even then they were super respectful. By then we were already getting ILM shots. I was realizing that out of 100 shots, maybe 10% of the shots were risky. They said, “If we go 2D on those shots, we can do it.” Then I gave them my list of conditions. They spent twice of what they normally spend on [this process], because they gave me the chance to pay ILM to do every single shot in native 3D. They aren’t being converted. So all the big 3D effects shots are being done by ILM from the get go. Normally they give a movie a 14 to 16 week conversion time [for 3D]. I started the conversion back in September. So it’s six months for conversion. It’s very classy.

The big green monster will be returning to US theaters come 2014, but the path paved for his return has been well, a tad earth-shaking! First the bad news. The initial producers Godzilla 2014 were let go by Legendary Pictures and are now suing the latter. The LA Times reports that:
Dan Lin and Roy Lee, along with Lee’s partner Doug Davison, filed a lawsuit against Legendary on Thursday after they were removed from the project earlier this month. The complaint filed in California Superior Court in Los Angeles claims that they were paid only $25,000 after bringing the “Godzilla” project to Legendary after being promised a much more lucrative deal for their ongoing services. In a filing last week seeking that the dispute be sent to arbitration, Burbank-based Legendary said the trio “offered little to the ongoing production of the film.” The company decided to remove them, paying only a small “development fee.”
The lawsuit also names Legendary President Jon Jashni as a defendant, accusing him of fraud for his role in the 2010 oral agreement, including an email to Lee and Lin in which he allegedly wrote that if the duo secured the “Godzilla” rights for Legendary, “You know you and your partners will be well treated throughout.”
Instead, the complaint alleges, “Whether out of greed or to show some sort of creative dominance over cross-complainants or merely due to the whim of Legendary’s CEO Thomas Tull, Legendary decided to turn its promise that Lin, Lee and Davison would be ‘well treated throughout’ on its head.”
…..
At the center of the legal battle is a disagreement over what contract governs the producers’ work. In their complaint, Lin, Lee and Davison say they reached an oral agreement with Legendary that would pay them $1.3 million or 3% of the film’s gross receipts — whichever was higher — along with the $25,000 development fee. They were also to have the right to produce any sequels.
Legendary says in its complaint that the relevant agreement is a written one that its lawyers provided to the producers in 2011. That contract allows the company to remove the trio from “Godzilla” before production began with no payment beyond the development fee.
Although Lin, Lee, and Davison never signed the contract, Legendary says it is enforceable because they never objected and continued work for more than a year after it was submitted.
The written contract stipulates that any dispute would be resolved in arbitration instead of court.
In more possibly positive news(this time), Stereoscopy News reports that Frank Darabont(of The Walking Dead TV series on AMC) will be finalizing the script.
In addition, The Huffington Post reports that:
Warner Bros. reportedly looked at Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Henry Cavill, Caleb Landry Jones and Scoot McNairy to play the lead role in “Godzilla,”
