Just recently, it was announced that Shotaro Ishinomori’s manga turned anime 009-1 will be getting the live action treatment.

The original manga tells the story of Mylene Hofuman, a female cyborg that also works as a secret agent. Mylene will be portrayed by actress Mayuki Iwasa.

The film is directed by Koichi Sakamoto. But he’s not the only familiar toku alumni that’s involved with this project. Numerous familiar faces will be making appearing in this film:

Minehiro Kinomoto (Kamen Rider Accel),
Mao Ichimichi (Gokai Yellow),
Nao Nagasawa (Hurricane Blue),
Shizuka Midorikawa (Noshiko from Kamen Rider W Returns: Eternal), Naoto Takenaka (Horror from Garo: Makai Senki)
Aya Sugimoto (Maria S. Cranberry),
Kazutoshi Yokoyama (Leo Zodiarts),
Tsukui Minami (Hopper Dopant)
and Hirotaro Honda (Space Raider)

The film is set to premiere August 7th in Japan and the first trailer for this film has found it’s way onto Youtube.

Go-Busters V-Cinema: Dobutsu Sentai Henshin Sequence

Posted on June 14, 2013 at 1:44 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai

Busters, Ready, Go!

While the retail release for Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Vs. Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters isn’t for sale yet, the rental version is out now! And with it we get our first looks at the transformation sequences for the Animal Go-Busters; Red Cheetah, Blue Gorilla, Yellow Rabbit, Gold Beetle, Silver Stag, Green Hippopotamus, Black Puma, and Pink Cat!

It’s worth noting that that Green Hippopotamus’ actor is actually also the voice actor for buddyroid Usada Lettuce! In this alternate world where Messiah was never built the Go-Busters took very different paths in life, becoming a more “traditional” set of sentai characters. Commander Kuroki is Black Puma, and Hiromu’s sister Rika is Pink Cat. 2 worlds collide on June 21st!

Hard to Find Power Rangers Megaforce Toys at CVS Drug Stores

Posted on June 13, 2013 at 10:46 am by Chris under Power Rangers

One of the pains of toy collecting is when the toy company releases multiple case packs with harder to find figures more prevalent in a second or third revision that never seems to make it to the big brick and mortor chain stores. This is the case when it comes to the Power Rangers Megaforce figures Loogie and Vrak. Online toy stores received these figures, but your stores like Wal-Mart, Target, etc., maybe got one case and never again.

But because the world works in strange ways, TokuNation.com member raz dropped by to let us know that he found both Loogie and Vrak at a local CVS Drugstore.

If you’re missing those figures … then let the hunt begin!

Special thanks to raz from our TokuNation.com forums!

Posted on June 13, 2013 at 7:16 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

We reported just a few days ago that South Korea would be getting Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters as Power Rangers Go-Bursters. Now thanks to TokuNation.com member shikishima we have some more details to share along with the fact that Kamen Rider Fourze will also be airing alongside Power Rangers Go-Bursters in South Korea!

Daewon Media, a South Korean company that specializes in cultural content, is responsible for bringing over Power Rangers Go-Bursters and Kamen Rider Fourze to that country. Along with the shows will be imported toys, action figures, and accessories for both shows to the South Korean market.

If you missed your chance at getting some of the swag from these series when they were airing in Japan, this is now your chance!

We’re in the home stretch folks. Let’s Watch Wednesdays is winding down to the end with Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger! Last week we learned the turth about Jan’s father and his ultimate fate at Jan’s hands. We also learned that the terrible Long has been using Rio, but to what ends?
