“Unleash the beast!”
Since it was officially announced back in February 2018 that Hasbro (the massive toy company behind Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel, and much more) was picking up the Power Rangers master license from Saban Brands & Bandai America, fans wondered what the future of the brand would look like. But shortly after that initial announcement, Hasbro let the world know what the Power Rangers series was headed for with Power Rangers Beast Morphers! In recent months the show has begun airing, and in fact just went on hiatus with this weekend’s introduction of the Gold Ranger! With a fresh new take on the TV show thriving, it’s good to know that the toyline is as well!
With Hasbro taking over the master license for the brand, the toyline has completely changed. While still based in practice on the designs crafted for it’s Super Sentai equivalent, Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, without Bandai America involved this line has been rethought from the ground up. In light of this seismic shift in the way the Power Rangers toyline is designed and approached now, Hasbro has also decided to reach out to numerous fan sites, toy reviewers, and other prolific members of the Power Rangers fan community to foster some good will towards the new line. To that point, I & and the entire TokuNation team are proud to be included among these individuals. Hasbro has generously provided a product review mailer for us to sample the entire initial wave of Beast Morphers toys! This product mailer was 100% free and shipped to us at no cost whatsoever, it is truly a gift from Hasbro. One we incredibly and deeply appreciate.
TokuNation has been around for going on 8 years now and I’ve been doing toy reviews/galleries for this site for nearly that entire time. To say I and we are honored, would be an understatement. A toy company has never personally reached out to me before in order to review their products. So I accept this rather graciously. While I’ll be reviewing every item in this product mailer individually in the coming weeks, I wanted to take today to simply break down the contents of this generous gift on the whole, and present the wonderful packaging it was sent in. Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” for a full gallery and breakdown of the Beast Morphers Product Mailer”. You can expect our first gallery of figure’s contained within it, early next week!

TokuNation has been around for going on 8 years now and I've been doing toy reviews/galleries for this site for nearly that entire time. To say I'm honored would be an understatement. A toy company has never personally reached out to me before in order to review their products. So I accept this rather graciously. While I'll be reviewing every item in this product mailer individually in the coming weeks, I wanted to take today to simply break down the contents of this generous gift on the whole, and present the wonderful packaging it was sent in. Below is a full breakdown and gallery.
Packaging
The Beast Morphers Product Review Mailer is a massive box, measuring 21X12X6 in. It *barely* fit into my review space so I apologize for any issues with the photos you may notice. This impressive box is adorned in absolutely gorgeous Beast Morphers Art as well. I wish I knew who the talented artist behind this line was, they do simply brilliant work and they deserve all the credit in the world for these impressive images. The group action shot across the front, the head shot line up along the back, as well as the Red Ranger on the top, and Yellow & Blue lining the sides. Before fully opening the box you'll also notice 3 really incredibly designed Beast Bot emblems. Which I can't say I've recalled seeing anywhere else in the toyline. These techy icons look stunning and would make for great T-shirt design in all honesty.
When the box flap is fully opened you may be surprised, as I most certainly was, to hear music playing! That's right, there's a small sensor and speaker just under the box lid which triggers a new rendition of the classic MMPR guitar riff ala Beast Morphers style. This was a most pleasant surprise for me. If you'd like to hear it, feel free to check out my tweet from a few days back of the initial unboxing. The interior flap has the new Power Rangers logo emblazoned on a background of techy Morph-X style detailing with the hashtag #GOGOPOWERRANGERS accompanying it. Within, is a smorgasbord of new toys to tantalize my reviewer taste buds! But there's also one more thing. A special note is included from the Hasbro Power Rangers Team, which is pictured in the gallery below for you to read too.
Contents
This mailer really spans a huge chunk of the first wave of Beast Morphers toys. When I was originally contacted about receiving it, I honestly didn't realize I'd be receiving a giant box of toys completely for free. There's a certain bit of validation that comes with something like this. Especially when seeing your website's name attached to your address on a shipping a label. So I was really struck by the size as well as the packaging design, but the contents are incredibly generous as well.
6" Basic Figures: Kicking it off, Hasbro has include 4 of the initial 5 figures offered in the first wave of 6" Basic figures. You may recall that just a few weeks ago, I found the Beast Morphers Red Ranger at retail myself and reviewed him. And I was *highly* impressed with what this line has accomplished at such a modest price point, compared to what we've seen from companies handling the license in the past. At the much better 6" scale, Hasbro has managed to strike a wonderful balance of affordability and playability with these figures. Well articulated, with more realistic body proportions than the Power Rangers line has seen in years, and including pretty much all the accessories you need, this line is the perfect entry point for long time collector's old and brand new fans.
In this product mailer, Hasbro has included the Red, Blue, & Yellow Rangers as well as one of the army builder evil grunts for this season, the Tronic! Absent is the Cyber Villain Blaze, but lucky for me I just picked him up at retail recently. You can expect a gallery & review of the Tronic next week, followed shortly by Blue Yellow & Blaze!
Role Play Toys: Also included in this review mailer, is the morphing device for this season, the Beast-X Morpher! Based on the Morphin Brace from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, this role play device is perhaps one of the best Morphers the Power Rangers line has ever seen. Taking the Japanese toy's design and pushing it even further, the Beast-X Morpher incorporates a brand new Morph-X Key gimmick. Each ranger has their own color coded Morph-X Key which can be inserted into the far end of the morpher to trigger unique sounds and phrases. The Morpher itself includes a unique triple key, while every figure in the 6" Basic line includes each ranger's or villain's specific key to unlock their particular sounds or phrases. Before even taking it out of the box, the Beast-X Morpher's electronics can be demo'd and even the motion activated features can be tested. We've come a long way with Morphers in a pretty short time thanks to this one toy alone. Once we've posted our upcoming reviews of the varous 6" Basic figures, you can expect a full Morpher gallery featuring every Morph-X Key from the line so far as well.
Also included from this category is the NERF branded Cheetah Beast Blaster! This wonderful weapon can actually transform from a very cool and stylized cheetah mode, to a handheld NERF blaster! A unique weapon created just for Power Rangers Beast Morphers, the Cheetah Beast Blaster is primarily used by the Red Ranger while piloting the Beast Racer Zord. Including three NERF darts, 2 to store as extra ammo, and one to place in the Blaster's mouth, the Cheetah Beast Blaster will be a fantastic addition to any Power Rangers role play toy collection and a welcome addition to any NERF arsenal.
Megazords: Bringing out the heavy hitters, Hasbro has also included for review the colossal Beast Racer Zord Battle Mode action figure! Similar in design and play pattern to Hasbro's line of Titan Heroes figures for Marvel & Transformers, the Racer Zord is actually a really wonderful toy. Hewing closely to the design of the Racer Zord costume, it has all of the blocky super robot proportions you'll love. While it doesn't transform, it does provide you with a fantastic poseable Racer Zord Battle Mode display piece. And it comes armed with both a Sword & Axe!
Collectible Blind Packs: Rounding out this impressive package is a set of Micro Morphers! A couple weeks ago we had the chance to crack open a couple Micro Morphers blind packs and we were very impressed by this affordable 1" scale toy line. Each individual blind bag comes with two random characters, possibly rangers, allies, or villains in it. While each Megzord Blind Box includes a couple more ranger or villain mini-figures, and also comes with a really fun nesting doll style compartmentalized Megazord! Throw in the Morph-X energy weapons and use the figure pegs attached to the Megazord and you can create your very own dream battle scene using these tiny figures!
Final Thoughts
Hasbro has set the bar quite high with this product review mailer. I absolutely did not expect to receive this much product for review, let alone for it to be presented in such a wonderful premium format. Hasbro wanted to foster good will with their opening salvo of Power Rangers products. They've done that and then some. On behalf of the entire TokuNation crew, we are extremely grateful, and you can expect a number of new galleries & reviews of these various products in the coming weeks!

Goddamn that is a LOT of stuff. Honestly I wouldn't mind it if the gallery had toys instead of figures on occasion now that I think about it
