Gosei Great Candy Toy / MiniPla Gallery by MoonBaseTom

Posted on December 10, 2013 at 5:20 pm by Chris under Super Sentai

While we have a brand new look and feel to the website, we’re still celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers!  And what would an anniversary celebration be without a gallery of some really small toys by super-small-toy collector and photo contributor MoonBaseTom?

Today, MoonBaseTom brings you a gallery of the MiniPla Gosei Great figure from Tensou Sentai Goseiger, or the Japanese series that Power Rangers Megaforce is adapted from.  These little guys feature more articulation than their DX counterparts and look pretty slick!

To see the full gallery, or simply click on the link at the bottom right of the news post!

Welcome to the NEW TokuNation!

Posted on December 10, 2013 at 12:51 pm by Chris under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

Nearly two years ago we launched TokuNation.com with two goals in mind – build a friendly and helpful community, and create a website that fans of tokusatsu can follow for the latest news on all their favorite shows and toys.  And for the last two years, we’ve been very proud and very humble of the friends, fans, and followers that we’ve made through our forums, our Facebook, and our @TokuNation Twitter account.  It has been our absolute pleasure to get to know every single one of you and to give all of you opportunities to win all the contests and giveaways that we do on a regular basis.  All of this, everything we do, is for you guys and because of you guys.

So for starters, THANK YOU!

So after two years we decided it was time for a face lift.  We wanted to upgrade our visuals while still keeping the ability for the community to interact directly with each news post, but also integrate social media in to things.  So here’s a quick run down of some of the major changes you’ll see right on the front page!

– Social media integration in to each and every news post (if you’re signed in to any of those social media sites and you click the button, you can “Share” the story through your account!)

– A complete search engine for every single news post, ever, through a number of options including Major Category (IE: Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, Super Sentai), Shows, Toy Line, Characters, and Companies.  Try it out – you can now look back through 2 years of history with just a couple clicks!

– Featured stories – self explanatory!

There’s still so much more to share with you on what has changed, what is new, and what is still to come!  To find out all the details, either click the title of the story, click here, or click on the ”Discuss on the TokuNation forums” link at the bottom right of this post!

Thank you for two years of support – we will continue to strive to meet your, as well as our own, expectations for many more years to come!

S.H. Figuarts Greeed Kazari Gallery by ryan

Posted on December 6, 2013 at 2:08 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

Released originally as a Tamashii Web Shop Exclusive in September of 2011, the Greeed Kazari figure from the Kamen Rider OOO series is hard to come by these days without being previously owned – “new/sealed” versions of this figure seem to be non-existent.  Luckily, one individual who does own this figure is our very own photo and content staff member ryan – and he has taken a gallery of images to share with you of this great figure!

The figure, coming with the usual hand accessories, also comes with some rather different accessories than you might be used to.

or on the link to check out the full gallery of this different S.H. Figuarts figure!  And be sure to let ryan know how much his pictures rock!

Photo contributor conundrum took 23 stunning high resolution images of this small but cool figure.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gills Gallery by Jmann

Posted on December 4, 2013 at 8:13 am by Chris under Kamen Rider, TokuNation Site Updates

We threatened our photo contributor Jmann with sticks, stones, and other nasty things if he didn’t put up some pictures of something.  So he responded with this pretty awesome gallery of Kamen Rider Gills from one of his favorite series Kamen Rider Agito.

Check out the full gallery by or by simply clicking the link at the bottom right of this page!

What do you think?  Should we keep Jmann around?  Give him some love or give him the ax!

Ryujin Mabuyer to be Adapted in Malaysia

Posted on December 3, 2013 at 9:21 pm by Chris under General Tokusatsu News

Thanks to our forum member irsyadsway we can tell you that a lesser known tokusatsu known as Ryujin Mabuyer is going to be adapted in Malaysia!

Ryujin Mabuyer follows the adventures of a local hero of the Okinawa Prefecture. A local hero is a tokusatsu hero who is based around a certain region or a certain prefecture in Japan, and tends to be based off local mythologies and industries. They are not as big as Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Metal Heroes, or Ultraman, but they do have dedicated followings.

Ryujin Mabuyer last saw a theatrical release in 2012, but aired 39 episodes spanning from 2008 to 2010. The Malaysian adaption will be filmed in Japan with many new scenes being filmed, and star a Malaysian cast. The series will air in 2014 at 7:30pm on TV3.
