Power Rangers Super Megaforce Toy Listings in Wal-Mart

Posted on October 10, 2013 at 3:08 am by Chris under Power Rangers

New York Comic Con 2013 is upon us! Pictures from unfinished displays have already started to roll in from exhibitors, but we also have boots on the ground and will have high resolution pictures to share with everyone Thursday early afternoon!

In the meantime, the Power Rangers toy super-sleuth raz has been hacking various online stores (not really hacking) and finding listings for new upcoming items that are Super Mega!

Check out this list of Power Rangers Super Megaforce toys that he found via Wal-Mart’s online store:

Basic Battle Gear:

38036 – Pwr Mega Blaster
38037 – Pwr Mega Sword

Deluxe Battle Gear:

38046 – Pwr Dlx Mega Saber

Cycles:

38071 – Pwr Zord Cycle Red
38072 – Pwr Zord Cycle Blue
38073 – Pwr Zord Cycle Green

38081, 38082 and 38083 are coming up as zord vehicles with figures now

4″ Figures:

38201 – Pwr Red Action Hero
38202 – Pwr Blue Action Hero
38203 – Pwr Green Figure
38204 – Pwr Yellow Figure
38205 – Pwr Pink Action Hero
38206 – Nothing
38207 – Pwr Prince Vekar
38208 – Pwr X Borg
38209 – Pwr Red Action Hero
38210 – Pwr Robo Knight
38211 – Pwr MM Red Figure
38212 – Pwr MM Green
38213 – Pwr MM White Ranger
38214 – Nothing
38215 – Pwr Zeo Red

So we have some new questions! What exactly is X Borg? Could it be the cyborg henchman from Gokaiger known as Barizorg? Or is it the name of the foot soldiers? And don’t pretend like you didn’t see that listing for the Power Rangers Zeo Red Ranger figure in the 4 inch size class.

Stay tuned for more news as it comes! We have boots on the ground at NYCC 2013 and hope to talk with Bandai of America, Bluefin Tamashii Nations, and we’ll swing by the booth for the independent film MMPR and see what’s new there for those interested!

Real or Fake? Kamen Rider Gaim Peach Lock Seed, New Female Rider Form

Posted on October 8, 2013 at 10:40 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

Chalk this one up to speculation for the time being, but a new Lock Seed has been unveiled for Kamen Rider Gaim – the E.L.S. 03 Peach Lock Seed, which in turn looks to unleash a new Kamen Rider who, by the looks of the armor, would be female!

Is this a new Rider, or is this an upgrade?

Speculate away!

Power Rangers Megaforce First 10 Episodes on Netflix Streaming

Posted on October 7, 2013 at 3:28 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Kind of a surprise thing the other night when I turned on my Netflix streaming and started browsing only to see a listing for Power Rangers Megaforce, but it’s true.

The first 10 episodes of Power Rangers Megaforce are available for viewing on Netflix streaming. This is kind of odd because Power Rangers Megaforce hasn’t ended it’s “season” yet (only a handful more episodes to go actually).

So if you haven’t checked out what people are talking about, now’s your chance! A simple search for Power Rangers Megaforce on your Netflix streaming account should pull it up.

Go go Megaforce!

Kamen Rider Gaim Intro

Posted on October 7, 2013 at 3:23 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

Did you catch the premiere of Kamen Rider Gaim over the weekend, or are you like some of us who are waiting for the subtitles? Either way, Kamen Rider Gaim is hyped to be one of the more anticipated Riders from the last few years.

We finally have the intro of the show, the song “Just Live More” performed by Japanese Reggae group “Shōnan no Kaze“.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYiEUZkpB5w

Personally, I am in love with this theme song and think it tops even my personal favorite, “Switch On” from Kamen Rider Fourze.

Post your thoughts!

And we still have yet to launch the contest for the SH Figuarts Mighty Morphin Green Ranger signed by Jason David Frank, so stay tuned for that contest announcement and how you can win it!

The MUST-SEE Independent Tokusatsu Short Film – Secondary Education

Posted on October 1, 2013 at 6:58 pm by Chris under General Tokusatsu News

There’s a bit of a sour taste in some people’s mouths these days when they talk about fan-created tokusatsu films or series – some self-proclaimed amateur filmmakers take to places like Kickstarter and make absurdly large promises in hopes of securing the money of fans of various tokusatsu series, promising dark and edgy material centered around their favorite franchises of years past. The questions of ethics and morals take shape once the truth comes out behind the filmmakers, having lied about their knowledge and passion for a franchise they hope to abuse in order to reach their own personal success.

But then there are films that come out that restore your faith in the independent films that people make. I’m talking about the new independent short tokusatsu film titled “Secondary Education”.

Three high school kids face detention for their performance on the latest chemistry test. As they sit and wait for their late teacher to arrive, we see a battle taking place outside the school windows between a red-suited hero and a lobster monster. It becomes blatantly obvious that the teacher is our hero.

A majority of the film is spent with the kids being taught science and electrical conductivity – and at first, I was confused as to why we spent so much time on it. But by the end of the film, it all makes sense and is brought together.

This is an absolutely amazing short-film and one that I am very proud to support, endorse, and promote. THIS is how you do a tokusatsu short-film. Spend about 12 minutes watching it and you will feel inspired yourself to want to sit down and create your own tokusatsu film.

Check out the film below!

The creators of this film have been kind enough to join up on the forums, so watch it and post in this thread your comments and questions.

I cannot stress enough – this is a MUST-SEE film! A short film that has managed to surpass even the mainstream, high-budget shows that we get on a yearly basis, and in only 12 minutes.

What do you think?
