Mecha and Figure Images of Chinese Tokusatsu Jushen ZhanJiDui

Posted on November 4, 2012 at 10:43 am by Chris under General Tokusatsu News

Nearly half a year ago the Tokusatsu fan community was ablaze over a new show that seemed to mimic Super Sentai from the country of China. We saw some behind the scenes images of new heroes, new “zords”, and in all honesty, they looked pretty good.

Then there was silence.

But now there’s some images of the figures and mecha from Taobao.com!

Taobao.com has uploaded numerous images – all six of the new heroes (Red, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Black, Yellow, Green) as well as three combinations of zords (Giant Team Robot, Sky Team Robot, and Earth Team Robot) as well as the henshin devices (scrolls). All in all, it looks pretty good!

Jushen ZhanJiDui is said to air sometime next year in China. Click the title bar of this story to check out all the images!

ToysRus.com Power Rangers Samurai Team Pack Image – Accidental Megaforce Figure Image

Posted on October 23, 2012 at 6:11 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Anyone browsing for Power Rangers Samurai figures on ToysRus.com were pleasantly surprised today when a closer look at the Power Rangers Samurai Ranger Team Pack revealed a high-resolution look at the upcoming Power Rangers Megaforce figures.

Click here to check out the listing.

In all likelihood this is a simple mistake from Bandai of America and ToysRus, as toy companies often make “mock-up” packaging of future toys in current toy packaging to sell the item to retailers as exclusives. Nevertheless, check out the image and revel in all that is Power Rangers Megaforce.

Power Rangers Brand Licensing in Europe – Past Rangers Confirmed for Megaforce

Posted on October 17, 2012 at 1:14 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Thanks to our friends at Samurai Cast Blog, as well as Twitter user thegeekpdt, we have some new information on the upcoming Power Rangers Megaforce, which is the 20th Anniversary of all things Power Rangers.

There are a ton of pictures to look at, so please click here to check out the pictures that thegeekpdt uploaded.

The most interesting piece of information comes from a conversation with a Saban Brands representative – that past Power Rangers would return to Power Rangers Megaforce! Not to play Devil’s Advocate here, but does that mean past actors (such as Jason David Frank or Johnny Yong Bosch) or just the past physical costumed Power Rangers, which is the main ability of the theme of the second half of Megaforce which is based off Gokaiger (who transform in to past Power Rangers)?

Only time will tell! Stay tuned!

This just feels like a great week to be a Power Rangers fan doesn’t it? Ron Wasserman, the original composer for all the music heard in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has uploaded the “finalized” versions of all of the “redux” tracks – the completely redone versions of your favorite songs from 1993!

The track-list is as follows:

  • Go Go Power Rangers
  • 5-4-1
  • We Need a Hero
  • Combat
  • Cross My Line
  • Fight
  • Go Green Ranger
  • Hope For the World

TokuNation at New York Comic Con 2012

Posted on October 8, 2012 at 7:19 pm by Chris under New York Comic Con

Just wanted to give everyone an update – TokuNation.com will be in full force at this year’s New York Comic Con, the equivalent of the yearly San Diego Comic Con, but on the east coast! This year’s show runs from Thursday, October 11th through Sunday, October 14th.

In attendance this year will be none other than Jason David Frank, who you may recognize now as a UFC fighter, but in the world of tokusatsu, played Tommy Oliver the Green Ranger and White Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers; Zeo Ranger V in Power Rangers Zeo; Red Turbo Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo; and the Black Dino Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Thunder as Dr. Tommy Oliver.

Also be sure to keep your browsers tuned in here at TokuNation.com as we bring you the first images of the upcoming SH Figuarts Zyuranger, or basically the first SH Figuarts of a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. We don’t know for sure which color it will be, but rumor is circulating heavily that it’ll be the Red Ranger. Could a Green Ranger be far behind?

Should be a fun and exciting week for all things tokusatsu!

Power Rangers Super Samurai to Return October 13th

Posted on October 2, 2012 at 5:20 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Hey Power Rangers fans! The wait is almost over! On Saturday, October 13th, your favorite Samurai Rangers return to action on Nick!

When we last left our heroes, Jayden was injured and Master Xandred had been able to escape from the Netherworld momentarily … and even being at half strength was able to easily defeat the Samurai Rangers. The evil Daiyu had rejoined forces with Master Xandred, and things look a little grim for our heroes!

Get ready for a fun end to Power Rangers Samurai, Saban Brands first series back in control of the Power Rangers franchise. And don’t forget … following this series in 2013 will be Power Rangers Megaforce, which will feature the Super Sentai 35th Anniversary series, Gokaiger, after featuring Goseiger for the first half.

Go Go Power Rangers!

Thanks to our member raz for the heads up!

Power Rangers Music Redux – Ron Wasserman Adds Go Green Ranger, More

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 11:11 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Before we enter the weekend eagerly awaiting new episodes of Kamen Rider Wizard and Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, let’s rewind a bit back to 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, or more specifically, the music of the show.

As we’ve reported on a few times already, Ron Wasserman – the original composer of the rock songs you heard while Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini, Kimberly, and Tommy were fighting putties – has decided to completely re-record those classic songs and is planning to release them as an album tentatively titled Power Rangers Redux.

Since our last update, the following songs have been added:

  • Lord Zedd
  • Unite
  • Cross My Line
  • Hope for the World
  • Go Green Ranger

What are you waiting for?

Click here to relive new versions of your favorite Mighty Morphin Power Rangers songs!

We’ll keep you updated as new tracks become available. Please remember these are all off the board and, with the exception of Lord Zedd, are not close to completion.
