Our final gallery from this year’s Power Morphicon is here and it’s none other than the highly anticipated, incredibly popular 6.5″ figures from Bandai America‘s new Power Rangers Legacy line! If there was one disappointment from this year’s Power Morphicon, it would have been the severe lack of anything new movie related being revealed to the hordes of diehard Power Rangers fans. But we’ll go in to detail on the wins and losses at this year’s show later – for now we did manage to get some very nice up close and personal shots of the upcoming Movie Legacy figures.

These figures are all 6.5″ in scale, the same scale as the newer Legacy figures that you’re finding in stores everywhere. Fun fact! The Movie Red Ranger figure is not the same as first photographed at San Diego Comic Con – in fact it was swapped out with a more updated figure after the first or second day of San Diego Comic Con! You should be able to tell based on the fact that it appears to have more paint than the other figures and the detailing looks a little more crisp.

While there was plenty of new and exciting things to see at this year’s Power Morphicon, easily the most surprising and most exciting was the reveal of the upcoming Soul of Chogokin DaiZyuJin from Tamashii Nations. Featuring diecast metal and an incredible amount of detail, there was no details given about the new item from the Soul of Chogokin line. Adam from Tamashii Nations was on hand and the only details he would give us, or anyone, was that the best thing to relate this item to was the previously released Soul of Chogokin Voltron figure.

Teased in the text is “Battle mode has been initiated for NYCC 2016” … promising a more in-depth look at this amazing set of figures at this year’s New York Comic Con. And dare we say it … the first look at a combined mode? I mean, it’s not like we can see the Megazord’s head in a couple of the images we took … or can you?

Absent from San Diego Comic Con 2016 but teased for Power Morphicon 5, Bandai America delivered – the first wave of Power Rangers Ninja Steel product was revealed this past weekend! On display were the following items:

  • 5″ Figures (Red, White, Pink, Blue, Yellow Ninja Steel Rangers)
  • Ninja Steel Megazord (combined and individual zords)
  • Ninja Steel sword (name not yet revealed)
  • Ninja Steel blaster (name not yet revealed)
  • Ninja Star Morpher

Bandai America also answered a few questions about this upcoming product. Jokingly, they stated the slits in the skirts for the 5″ female Rangers was done because they were tired of not being able to pose them in more than one pose at all the conventions (in reality, they heard the feedback from fans and made the change for this toy line). These figures are a new production run of the Bandai Japan Ninninger figures, and the females are brand new molds. The sword accessory is also larger than the Bandai Japan one. The ninja stars that you see are rough mock-ups, the actual final versions did not ship in time for them to be displayed with the product. They will be a soft foam like plastic because kids will want to throw them, but they will be fun and of course, very collectible.

The Power Rangers Dino Supercharge toy line is slowly coming to a close but that didn’t stop Bandai America from showing off what’s left at this year’s Power Morphicon 5! We went through the booth taking pictures of some items that you already have, as well as the new items that you don’t! As we continue to look at all the news and events from Power Morphicon 5, easily the biggest reveal (toy-wise) was that of the Legacy Power Sword. That’s right – Bandai America has figured out a way to package a 1:1 scale sword in a box and to have a retailer sell it as such. And that is AWESOME! On top of that, Bandai America answered a few of our questions (and other fan’s questions) about the Legacy Power Sword and we have those statements here for you as well.

  • Planned to ship in one piece, no assembly required (giant long box)
  • Not ready to set a price as of yet
  • If it sells well, they’d love to do the other Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Power Weapons
  • “No comment” when asked if it was designed with foresight of possible combining in the future
  • Sounds and electronics included (prototype had buttons on side of handle, we missed that in photographs, our apologies)
