It’s no secret that Tokumei Sentai Gobusters is one of the lowest rated Sentai shows in the franchise, but just how badly did it do as a whole? As reported by Rising Sun Tokusatsou, the rating reports from the last two episodes are out and they aren’t good: with the last two episodes of the series receiving a 4.9% and 4.4% in viewers. That puts Gobusters as a whole at a viewership of approximately 4.0%!

But the downward trend continues into Kyoruger, with the first three episodes only scoring a 4.3%, 4.0%, and 3.2%.

Of course, Rising Sun’s usual source for these rating reports come from a different source, with their original source stomped out in a crackdown by Toei

These numbers may not be accurate but they seem to indicate that Super Sentai is in a downward slump, though weather or not this trend will continue for Kyoruger remains to be seen.

The Official Bluefin Tamashii Facebook Page has just posted up official images for S.H. Figuarts Tyranno Ranger or as he’ll be known by his US release, the original Mighty Morphin’ Red Ranger!

Tyranno Ranger/Red Ranger will come with his trademark Ryuugekiken/Power Sword as well as the Ranger Stick/Blade Blaster and Thunderslinger! US retail for this figure will be $44.99 through Bluefin, Japanese pricing is unconfirmed at this time.

The official Bluefin Tamashii Faceebook Page has just posted up official images for S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ranger or as he’ll be known by his US release, the original Mighty Morphin’ Green Ranger!

Dragon Ranger/Green Ranger will come with his trademark Zyusoken/Dragon Dagger as well as the Hellfried Sword/Sword of Darkness. It does not however appear at this time that the Dragon shield is removable for use with Tyranno Ranger/MMPR Red Ranger. US retail for this figure will be $44.99 through Bluefin, Japanese pricing is unconfirmed at this time.

Gorisaki sadly does not include any accessories for either himself or his partner Blue Buster.

The official press conference for Akibaranger season 2 has just happened in Japan and thanks to both Tokunation member DrillBIT and DecaEnd of Henshin Justice Unlimited we bring you a full run down of what was revealed!

It’s been roughly 9 months since season one. Akagi is back to his old habits, spending his days working as deliveryman with no joy. One day he walks past a shop specializing in Sentai toys. He enters and sees that the MMZ-01 is being sold as an official toy called the DX AkibaLaser! Did the Akibarangers turn into official heroes without knowing it themselves? What could this possibly mean? Could something have happened to the real official heroes!?

Meanwhile, Luna Iwashimizu, a schoolgirl who hopes to become an idol has been appointed as the new Akiba Blue, as Mitsuki has left to pursue her martial arts training. Yumeria returns as Akiba Yellow, but no longer works as a business woman.

The new villain this time is General Two (played by Ryo Horikawa), who leads the “New Dimensional Intellect Remodeling Underground True Empire of Baros lol” (新次元頭脳改造地下真帝国バロスｗ, baros and ‘w’ are both very similar to the English lol). The name is a combination of the villain organizations from Bioman, Jetman, Flashman, Maskman and Dynaman.

General Two is middle-aged Sentai villain fanboy. His favourite is General Kar from Dynaman, basing both his name and suit on him. He creates figures of monsters and sends the into Delusion World. Malshina seems to have joined the True Empire of Baros lol, and uses a Moya Moya Z-Cune.

Some further tidbits from the conference include:

  • For some reason Nobuo can’t transform with the regular MMZ-01
  • A Machine Itassher toy was in the cafe.
  • The weapons Akibaranger’s used have been made into toys, DX AkibaLaser (MMZ-01) and DX MeteorCannon (Inordinate Cannon).
  • The new Blue, Luna Iwashimizu, was cosplaying as Akiba Blue.
  • Malshina was shown taking a bath as someone calls her through a device that looks very similar to the MMZ-01.
  • She says Evil Delusion (jamousou) and transforms. But all it does is add a helmet and changes her clothes.
  • Some old monsters from season one are back.
  • Yu Kamio (Kiyoto Maki/Dinosaur Greeed) will be in season two.
  • Some past rangers that were shown: Tyranno Ranger, Blue Swallow, Deka Yellow, Bouken Pink, Black Condor, Dragon Ranger and Kibaranger.

The new opening theme is named “Akibaranger Season Two” and is sung by Haruko Momoi, Yukio Yamagata and MoJo.

Thanks to the ever insightful DrillBIT we have news of the forthcoming S.H. Figuarts for Akibaranger season 2!

First we have confirmation via a Bandai press release that S.H. Figuarts Super Akiba Red will be released in June, priced at 3675 yen! His teammates Akiba Blue and Akiba Yellow are tentatively set to be released in July for the same price.

Also revealed via this pdf were the Japanese release details of S.H. Figuarts Dragonranger and Tyrannoranger from Zyuranger! It is assumed both will have some relation to the Akibaranger figure releases, however what exactly this will be is currently unconfirmed. Dragonranger is tentatively due for release in June, while Tyrannoranger will be released the following month in July – both again priced 3675 yen.

Finally DrillBIT brings us some unconfirmed news of other Figuarts seen in the Akibaranger PV seen at today’s press release. Among those seen were Black Condor and Blue Swallow of Jetman, Deka Yellow of Dekaranger and Bouken Pink of Boukenger! This is the first news of a Blue Swallow figuart, and the first news of a release date for Bouken Pink (who has been seen alongside her team members at various events).

In non-Figuart merchandise news, a Twitter user has leaked that Malshina’s MMZ will be released, and is named the MoyaMoya Z-Cune. However further details are still unconfirmed.

Due to user KamenRiderOOO, here’s scans from April’s Televi-Magazine! Due to how the Magazine works, they release the following month’s issue a month ahead, thus revealing some images that spoil some key points in television series. Without further ado, we present the images provided!

Scans reveal that the Zyudenchi can bestow other powers to the Kyoryuger! Examples include #15 Allomerus, which allows the user to launch a stream of fire from the Gaburevolver and #13 Kentrospiker, which allows the Gaburevolver to launch needle shots! Also seen are more images of Beast Hyper, Super Hero Taisen Z, and several toys, such as the DX DeinoChaser and KyoryuRed Set, and the first clear image of the PlaMonster, Violet Golem!

For those collecting Zyudenchi, the Candy Toy and Gashapon sets are shown! Also the next Candy Toy Wizard Ring Set!
Candy Toy Set 1: Gabutyra, Stegochi, Dricera, Allomerus, and Igeranodon.
Gashapon Set 1: Gabutyra, Stegochi, Dricera, Stymero, Beyonsmo, and Tuperanda.

Gabutyra’s body will come in two separate boxes while Dricera and Stegochi will be packed in single contained boxs.

Minipla Kyoryujin will be shipping sometime in late March retailing for a very wallet friendly price of 2940, a great alternative to those who can’t afford the DX!

Thanks to the ever informative DecaEnd a recent interview with the head writer for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger has shed some light on the series. Head Writer Riku Sanjo has expressed his desire to write the ENTIRETY of Kyoryuger alone. That’s right folks Riku Sanjo, also known for his works on Kamen Riders W & Fourze, is the sole individual responsible for the brilliance of this show so far. At the time of this interview he’d already written 12 episodes of the show completely alone! And if it’s up to him and the show continues it’s current pace and ratings he just may get his wish.

How many tokusatsus can you think of that have only ever been written by a single person?
