S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Suit Ver 7 (The Animation) Gallery

Posted on January 19, 2020 at 3:17 pm by Den-O under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

“Actually. I’m Ultraman.”

In a world where the giant of light Ultraman, left Earth years ago, the SSSP has found a new way to defend their world. Relying on individuals who possess the Ultraman Factor, and equipping them with suits of armor, the heroes of Earth fight back Kaiju! But in the case of Dan Moroboshi, he has no Ultraman Factor. Lucky for him, SSSP has developed a next generation Ultraman suit specifically for those who don’t possess these abilities. The Ultraman Suit Ver. 7 not bestows non-powered individuals with the ability to fight Kaiju, but it can be upgraded after repeated combat. Evolving and adapting to any situation, the Seven Suit is a force to be reckoned with!

The Ultraman Suit Ver 7 is a gorgeous entry in Tamashii Nations Ultraman line of S.H. Figuarts. Recreating the Seven Suit as it appears in the Netflix ULTRAMAN anime, this figure implements some dynamic and interesting new choices for articulation we don’t often see. That being said, it makes for a figure with tons of expressive personality. Armed with his Throwing Knife & Specium Sword and a sweeping fiery effect part for it, Dan Moroboshi is ready to defend the Earth!

Check out our full 60+ image gallery of the Seven Suit after the jump! Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see the full gallery & review. Next time we visit a hero of the Showa era with Ultraman Taro!

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Ginga Gallery

Posted on January 17, 2020 at 3:09 pm by Den-O under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

“Ultralive!”

The Dark Spark War. The forces of good and evil battling across infinite dimensions. The bleak future where Ultraman Ginga battled his evil half, Dark Lugiel. Ended in a draw, every Ultraman, Woman, Alien, & Monster across reality was reduced to lifeless Spark Dolls. Scattering among the stars, some, fell to Earth. There, Hikaru Raido has returned to his hometown to sort through visions of the future. But before he can find the answers, Hikaru meets Ultraman Taro! Retaining his sentience as a Spark Doll, Taro uses his experience to guide the young Hikaru along his new journey as he discovers the secrets of the Dark Spark War, and protects the Earth as Ultraman Ginga!

S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Ginga is a milestone to me. I remember reviewing the old Ultra-Act release back in 2014 and thinking it was pretty great. It goes without saying that the Figuart, improves on that release in every conceivable way. With a defined sculpt, lavish details, and astounding articulation improvements, Ultraman Gina can pose with the best of them. And he looks incredibly stylish while doing so! Including multiple sets of hands and a color timer, Ginga also carries his powerful Ginga Spark Lance and comes with a effect part to recreate the Ginga Cross Shoot!

We’ve put together over 60 images of S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Ginga for your viewing pleasure. You can see the entire gallery and read through our extensive review after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the Tokunation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Coming up soon, we’re doing two more back to back Ultra galleries! S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Taro & Ultraman Suit Ver. 7!

S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form (Decade Version) Gallery

Posted on January 16, 2020 at 4:58 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Henshin!”

When the Destroyer of Worlds, Kamen Rider Decade, embarked on a journey through the worlds of the Heisei Riders he came upon something familiar. A world, besieged by the ancient Gurongi, and protected by a hero bearing the Linto Tribe’s Arcle. But beneath this familiar form, was someone different. Often unsure of his abilities, but ready to protect the smiles of the people of his world, Yusukue Onodera stood against darkness as Kamen Rider Kuuga! Choosing to join Tsukasa on his journey through dimensions, protecting everyone’s smiles on the way, Yusuke grew into the confident hero he was also meant to be.

From Tamashii Nations we have what some would say is a long overdue release in the form of Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form (Decade Version)! At first glance this figure would seem identical to the original Shinkocchou Seihou Kuuga, but in fact the suit used in Decade (which is reflected in this figure) had a subtle metallic red sheen to it. Outside of this though, what we have here is an identically constructed and accessorized figure to the original Kuuga release. Which is not a bad thing! Shinkocchou Seihou Kuuga was a brilliant figure when it was released, and this clever reissue of the mold will not only work for fans seeking to complete a Decade collection, but it also gives collectors who missed it the first time around another chance to handle this excellent figure.

We’ve assembled a huge 70+ image gallery of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form Decade Ver. You can check out the entire gallery and our extensive review thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Tomorrow, we journey to the land of light with our first Ultraman figure review in some time with S.H. Figuarts Ultraman Ginga!

Recap – Our Interview with Team Rider from Bluefin Brands

Posted on January 4, 2020 at 11:32 pm by Chris under Kamen Rider

On Friday, January 3rd we had the opportunity to do something really special. We held a live-streamed interview with #TeamRider of Bluefin Brands asking both questions we wrote up as well as questions we asked you for via our @TokuNation Twitter account (now 10,000 strong and growing – THANK YOU!). During the interview they were able to see your comments and respond to them real-time. We had a blast and we can’t wait to do it again soon.

Below is a recap of some of the questions/answers as well as the stream itself so you can listen if you missed it. Enjoy!

Are previous CSM Kamen Rider belts available to be released in the United States and Canada?

Bluefin Brands is limited to only what is currently in production or available at retail in Japan. If there is an item that you want to see brought back – be vocal on social media and at conventions. However, there is a good chance that any future CSM items that release will be brought over to the United States and Canada.

Why are there no releases currently planned for UK and Europe?

Bluefin Brands does not hold the rights to distribute items in the UK or Europe. They encourage fans in the UK and Europe to reach out to their local distributors to try and get the same items released there. (NOTE: We have reached out to the Bandai UK branch in hopes of getting more information and if/when we receive a response we will share it with you).

Why is xxxx S.H. Figuart not releasing in the United States?

Tamashii Nations and Bluefin Brands are two separate entities. Tamashii Nations produces a certain number of figures and allocates them accordingly. For the record – #TeamRider asks for quantities of EVERY. SINGLE. FIGURE. that is produced. Sometimes they get a yes, sometimes they get a no. Originally, they were told they were not getting S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zero-One – and now he’s available for pre-order. They’re working on it.

Are you going to release the accessory items for the DX Belts?

At this time they are not in the plans – but they want to for sure. It goes hand in hand with the earlier comment about items in production. If Lock Seeds aren’t currently being produced they can’t necessarily get a run of Lock Seeds brought over to go with the DX Sengoku Driver. This is something they are looking at and working on but the short term answer is nothing right now. Stay tuned.
