eOne CEO Darren Throop Offers Comment on Future of Power Rangers
Courtesy our sister site TFW2005.COM and reporter Silver Optimus, we have the following bit of information coming out of the JP Morgan 49th Annual Technology, Media, and Communications Conference in which Hasbro and eOne both took part. CEO of eOne, Darren Throop, had the following to say regarding Power Rangers future in media:
Power Rangers is being worked on now with a creative steward and a big streaming partner. We haven’t brought that to an announcement stage yet. – Darren Throop, CEO eOne
Hasbro had previously mentioned that future Power Rangers entertainment would be coming via streaming and more adult-focused, as well as maintaining an offering for kids as well. Dino Fury Black Ranger actor Chance Perez recently spoke in an interview that Season 2 of Power Rangers Dino Fury would be on Netflix (while mentioning the current season is on Nickelodeon). Hasbro and eOne have made no comment or clarification on Chance’s interview.
Previous fan speculation indicated that Nickelodeon‘s contract for Power Rangers ran out after 2021 (a 10 year agreement started with Saban Brands in 2011), as Saban Brands and Nickelodeon recently amended their contract from 2018 through 2021 prior to Hasbro‘s buy-out, yet no new contract or deal has been announced between Nickelodeon and Hasbro. This speculation also fueled other theories that Hasbro would no longer adapt Super Sentai seasons from Japan in to Power Rangers after Dino Fury. While there has been plenty of evidence for both sides of the latter theory to argue, there has been no official statements or concrete details to confirm or deny a future between Hasbro and Toei.
The Power Rangers brand continues to take interesting turns as we approach the 30th anniversary in 2023. Stay tuned.

The Emissary of Hell, Spider-Man!
My Shiny Toy Robots returns with another tokusatsu review, this time looking back on the 1978 collaboration between the Toei Company and Marvel Comics – Spider-Man!
Whilst many fans remember this series for the giant robot Leopardon and what its introduction did for the Super Sentai franchise, Toei’s Spider-Man has so much more to offer as well – and isn’t as far away from the spirit of the original Spidey as some would have you believe.
Please check out the review and let us know your thoughts on Toei’s Spider-Man in the thread linked!
