      • Original audio masters from Toei, so the sound is incredible
  • Some of the Q&A for Team Kamen Rider (TKR) & Shout! Factory (SF)/TokuSHOUTsu
    • American adaptation of Kamen Rider possible?
      • TKR:  “Do you want an adaptation or do you want an original creation?”
    • Can we get more series on BluRay?
      • SF:  “If Zero-One does well we can approach it.  We’ve talked about maybe a box set for the original series.  But we’re a small company so we need to see the return on what’s already being done.”
    • Is there anyway we can ask for specific seasons or series to be brought over?
      • SF:  “Use our social channels.  I can tell you I’ve gotten a ton of requests for Dragon Knight, followed by Metal Heroes.  But we talk to our own departments, and Toei, and come up with a plan after that.”
    • What about maybe dubbing a series?
      • SF:  “Yeah I’m sorry I really hate those.” – lol
    • What about action figures (not SH Figuarts)?
      • TKR:  Been working/fighting for those.  The same department that does RKF’s does DX Belts, so if the DX Belts do well it opens the door to potentially get the RKF’s out here.
    • Any plans to do these Kamen Rider movie releases in theaters via Fathom Events?  What about special episodes or movies for already-streaming properties, like Ryuki?
      • SF:  The plan for Heisei Generations FOREVER was actually to have it in theaters, and then the pandemic happened.  As the world gets back to normal it can be revisited.  As for the Ryuki special episode(s) or movies, if we were to do a physical release of the series, that is something we would then look to include, but currently no plans to stream it.
    • Fans from Mexico want Kamen Rider but don’t have access to watch it.  Is there any plans to expand?
      • SF:  Yes.  Been looking in to expanding in to new territories.  But we have a lot of properties and we can’t just drop in and go, we have to acquire the rights to those territories and Latin America is one area that I think we would want to move in to as Toei has a strong presence in a lot of those countries.  I wouldn’t expect anything in the next year, but definitely in the next few years, I would say there’s a really good chance.

Kamen Rider Zero-One Licensed by Shout! Factory for DVD Blu-Ray Release

Posted on April 3, 2021 at 4:07 pm by Toku Chris under Kamen Rider

Kamen Rider Zero-One is being released domestically by Shout! Factory.  The announcement came during the Team Kamen Rider stream with Shout! Factory to kick off the beginning of North America’s week-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of Kamen Rider.

Ari from Shout! Factory stressed patience – this release is not coming next week, next month, or the month after that.  The release will likely occur in 2022.  But Shout! Factory has licensed Kamen Rider Zero-One for DVD and Blu-Ray release in North America.

It was not mentioned whether or not the release would be DVD or Blu-Ray but seeing as Kamen Rider Zero-One was filmed recently and in high quality, Blu-Ray is possible and very likely.

Stay tuned to Shout! Factory and, of course, TokuNation for more details.

The Shout! Factory digital platform TokuShoutSu has announced the first entries from the Ultraman franchise joining their streaming service!

Details from the press release are as follows-

Los Angeles – October 27, 2020 – Following an exclusive North American streaming acquisition from Mill Creek Entertainment and Indigo Entertainment earlier this year, Shout! Factory TV will release its first collection of films and series from Tsuburaya Productions’ iconic Ultraman library November 1 on both Shout! Factory TV platforms and Shout’s Tokusatsu channel TokuSHOUTsu™, available on Pluto TV.

The first offering from the beloved and renowned library will include five complete television series and two films spanning over 50 years of historic fandom, from the first of the Ultraman series, 1966’s Ultra Q, to the 2018 Ultraman Geed film. The full offering launching November 1 includes series Ultra Q, Ultraman, Ultraseven, Ultraman Orb and Ultraman Geed alongside films Ultraman Orb The Movie: Let Me Borrow the Power of Bonds! and Ultraman Geed The Movie: Connect the Wishes!

Classic Ultraman series Ultra Q, Ultraman and Ultraseven will also premiere on Shout! Factory TV and TokuSHOUTsu in high definition, newly available for Shout! Factory’s expanding streaming audience.

Factory TV’s Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, and Android apps; and on various Shout! Factory TV branded channels including Tubi, Amazon Prime Channels, and the Roku Channel.

Ultraman content can also be seen on TokuSHOUTsu, a linear channel (#848), in the Gaming + Anime section of Pluto TV. Pluto TV can be found on all leading digital streaming devices and services, including Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Google Chromecast and more, as well as major smart TVs and game consoles.

The classic Ultraman live-action television series of the 1960s and 70s, produced by Tsuburaya Productions, established new heights of quality adventure and special effects-driven entertainment and built a worldwide audience for the property. The popularity of Ultraman—and the aliens and monsters—has enabled the series to persist to this day, generating over $50 million per year in toys and merchandise in Japan.
Shout! Factory TV plans a continued aggressive rollout of Ultraman properties on its channels in forthcoming months.
