June Covers for Power Rangers Comics – Ranger Slayer Revealed

Posted on March 13, 2018 at 1:31 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Thanks to our friends at PowerRangersNOW, we have our first look at the June covers for both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 028 (Kyle Higgins) and Go Go Power Rangers Issue 010 (Ryan Parrott). As you should be well aware, both titles will be in the midst of the Shattered Grid event, featuring the return of the evil Lord Drakkon as he attempts to transcend time and space to destroy ALL the Power Rangers, EVER.

Go Go Power Rangers Issue 010 will feature a new evil Power Ranger who works for Lord Drakkon – the Ranger Slayer – who will pilot an abomination of zord parts (featuring the Red Dragon Thunderzord, the Tigerzord, and Tor the Shuttle Zord) in an attempt to destroy the Power Rangers in the past to change the future.

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 028, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers split in to two teams – one with the Power Rangers Time Force and the other with Power Rangers RPM – in battles across worlds in a fading attempt to stop Lord Drakkon.

Check out all the images by clicking the title of the story! We cannot wait for Shattered Grid to begin (which it does later this month!).

Super Sentai Artisan DX DaiRenOh – Update and Tons of Images

Posted on March 12, 2018 at 12:39 pm by Chris under Super Sentai

For those of you who can remember 2017 (it’s been a minute already, we know!) one of the hardest items to obtain was a pre-order for the Super Sentai Artisan DX DaiRenOh. Promising a faithful release of the original figure but with modern day improvements (such as better paint deco, remolded pieces, and new accessories) the Super Sentai Artisan DX DaiRenOh sold out in pre-orders within just a couple of days.

Bandai Japan has recently updated their blog to give what would appear to be the final release version update on the upcoming Super Sentai Artisan DX DaiRenOh. The figure features brand new paint and looks incredible. The fists have been remolded, the sheath of the blade now matches what you saw in the show, and a second sword has been included so you can recreate the finishing move.

We’ve mirrored all the images here on the site. Click the title of the story to check them all out. Did you grab a pre-order for this? Sound off in discussion and let us know!

Also … you have until the end of the month to reach out to your middle man for a DX WonTiger, which as you know, can combine with the DX DaiRenOh.

First Impressions of Power Rangers RPG by Nexon Mobile

Posted on March 5, 2018 at 2:28 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Nexon Mobile, known in the Power Rangers community for having created the popular mobile game Power Rangers Dash, has developed a brand new Power Rangers game for mobile devices. Titled simply “Power Rangers RPG”, the game features a real-time automated battle system with up to five Power Rangers battling against numerous monsters and a boss at the end of each stage. We were lucky enough to take part in the closed beta testing process (which was open to certain areas via the Android Google Play Store) and this is our first impressions of the game.

Please note – this game is still under development and nothing seen in these videos or images should be considered final. The developers have already stated that changes will be made based on user feedback.

Soul of Chogokin SOC GX-76 Zyuranger Daizyujin/MMPR Megazord Gallery

Posted on March 3, 2018 at 10:13 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Appear Daizyujin!”

We know this one’s been out for a while, but when you’re dealing with something this incredible, it takes a bit of time to do the job right. So we’ve taken our time and shot an in depth gallery of nearly 200 images, with a full length 7 part review of this fantastic release. It’s well past time we share with you our in depth look at the Soul of Chogokin SOC GX-76 Daizyujin! Of course for the western collectors out there this is none other than the MMPR Megazord!

Daizyujin is that most iconic of Sentai mecha to those of us in the west. It’s gone through various toylines, updates, and revisions over the years, and finally Tamashii Nations has tackled it with an entry in their long line of SOC’s. This figure sat out to recreate the iconic designs of the 5 Guardian Beasts and their two combined forms using modern engineering. The results are near flawless. We have a die-cast laden, poseable, proportionate, and imposing figure to add to our collections. Special note, our review piece today (provided by the infinitely generous TokuChris) features the western Bluefin distribution exclusive packaging. Consisting of new MMPR themed box art.

We’ve attached the MASSIVE 195 image gallery of SOC Daizyujin to this post. But you can also read our lengthy review of this set by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. This gallery & review were a labor of love for me. And if you’re a fan of Zyuranger or MMPR, I hope it does the job of making you want this set.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form Gallery

Posted on February 28, 2018 at 5:51 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Best Match!”

Tamashii Nations has just released the formula for victory with the first entry in the Kamen Rider Build figuarts subline! Our titular hero himself arrives as S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Build Rabbit Tank Form!

Build Rabbit Tank is our first experience with this line and as such needs to set the bar for where it goes from here. Many people were disappointed when this figure was announced because of the lack of the Build Crusher weapon in either of it’s forms. Honestly the accessories are very lite, including only 2.5 sets of hands. Luckily Kamen Rider Build makes up for this to me by being a very well designed and proportioned figure. He seems to have jumped right off the screen. Opinions will of course vary, but thus a figure that I think will look great in any collection.

We’ve attached the full 80 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our full review thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with a trio of galleries from Kamen Riders W & Ex-Aid as well as Zyuranger!

S.H. Figuarts Hakaider Squad Pre-Production Factory Sample Gallery

Posted on February 25, 2018 at 1:22 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

In the last 7 years I’ve had the opportunity to review some seriously unique and interesting pieces for this website. Honestly though I think nothing has ever been quite as unique as what I have to share with you today. I’ve recently come into possession of  a special Pre-Production Factor Sample of the S.H. Figuarts Hakaider Squad! While Kikaider & Hakaider related products may not necessarily be something of personal interest to each of you, this figure offers us a rare look at what goes into the process of creating a repaint and remold of a previous release.

Yes, this figure is indeed a true blue working sample used to model new parts. At it’s base level it’s your standard Hakaider body. But after disassembly and study, you can see several areas where new parts from the final Hakaider Squad figures were integrated for testing purposes. The new biceps and face are dead giveaways. More than that though we also have the anti-theft paint job, as well as the trademark hole drilled through the figures’ chest that numerous Tamashii display samples have had through out the years.

We’ve attached the full 40 image gallery of this unique item to this post, but please read through the in depth breakdown of what makes this factory sample what it is after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full thread.

Next time, “Rabbit! Tank! Best Match!”

Lupinranger – Sentai Hero Collection Lupin Red, Blue, & Yellow Vinyls Gallery

Posted on February 23, 2018 at 4:10 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Masquerase!”

Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger is about to enter it’s third week. So continuing our coverage of the merchandise released so far, we’re revisiting the show with 3 more entries in the Sentai Hero Collection line of vinyls. Lupin Red, Lupin Blue, & Lupin Yellow!

As with the Patrangers these Hero Collection vinyls offer an affordable option for you to own your favorite characters that may not necessarily receive figures in other toylines. In many cases these vinyls offer 1 of few, if not the only option for you to collect a particular hero. That was what drove me to pick them up myself. The Lupinranger designs are very slick, if a bit more limited in this line than your average release. Vinyls may not do much, but as static display pieces they get the job done. Be sure to go back and check out our Patrangers gallery as well!

We’ve attached over 35 images to this post, but you can also check out the full review after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time we’ll be back with the formula for victory with a gallery from Kamen Rider Build!

Toy Fair 2018 – Imaginext Power Rangers

Posted on February 19, 2018 at 10:00 am by Chris under Power Rangers, Toy Fair

Our coverage of Toy Fair 2018 continues with a look at the offerings for Imaginext Power Rangers. Unfortunately there was not much to be seen from the folks at Imaginext. On display was a brand new repaint of the Megazord playset in a new color scheme – black and red – with no release information available. Shown with it was a Mighty Morphin Red Ranger with black highlights and a repainted Rita Repulsa figure in purple and blue. Two power coins and a purely red staff accompanied as accessories.

What is the future of Imaginext Power Rangers with the master toy license going to Hasbro? We’re not quite sure. Hasbro has it’s own preschool aged faction of toys under the PlaySkool banner. We’ll update you with any further information regarding the future of Imaginext Power Rangers.
