For the 25th Anniversary of the Power Rangers, BOOM! Studios and Saban Brands have come together to release the Power Rangers Artist Tribute Book – which is exactly what it is – a book of tributes from artists to 25 years of Power Rangers. Featuring contributions from over 80 different artists this book is a Power Rangers fan’s dream come true. Set to release on April 3rd in hardcover format, a digital version is available now from Comixology and thus we’ve decided to take a look at this book.

Thanks to our friends at PowerRangersNOW, we have our first look at the June covers for both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 028 (Kyle Higgins) and Go Go Power Rangers Issue 010 (Ryan Parrott). As you should be well aware, both titles will be in the midst of the Shattered Grid event, featuring the return of the evil Lord Drakkon as he attempts to transcend time and space to destroy ALL the Power Rangers, EVER.

Go Go Power Rangers Issue 010 will feature a new evil Power Ranger who works for Lord Drakkon – the Ranger Slayer – who will pilot an abomination of zord parts (featuring the Red Dragon Thunderzord, the Tigerzord, and Tor the Shuttle Zord) in an attempt to destroy the Power Rangers in the past to change the future.

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 028, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers split in to two teams – one with the Power Rangers Time Force and the other with Power Rangers RPM – in battles across worlds in a fading attempt to stop Lord Drakkon.

At this year’s WonderCon 2018 the Power Rangers HyperForce will be getting their own exclusive cover for Go Go Power Rangers Issue 08. Revealed today by Meghan Camarena, @Strawburry17 on Twitter who plays Chloe the HyperForce Pink Ranger, is the exclusive WonderCon Power Rangers HyperForce Comic Cover.

The cover features:

Jack, the HyperForce Yellow Ranger

This past weekend at Emerald City Comic Con, BOOM! Studios – the publishing company behind both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers comics – announced a special one-shot comic book commemorating 25 years of the iconic franchise. Check out the details of the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 25th Anniversary Comic.

Contributing to the special are Magdalene Visaggio, Joe Quinones, Sina Grace, and Marcus To. The comic is set to celebrate both the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as some of the teams that followed them (featured on one cover are none other than Power Rangers Zeo, Power Rangers Turbo, and Power Rangers In Space). Revealed today exclusively through CBR.com, we have our first look at some of the variant covers for both BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #27 as well as Go Go Power Rangers #9, both in the midst of the Shattered Grid event.

The Shattered Grid event, which begins next month, features the return of the evil Lord Drakkon and causes the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to need to team up with their namesakes from the past and the future to defeat him once and for all.

For Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #27, the main cover is by Jamal Campbell with variant covers by Jordan Gibson and Carlos Villa. For Go Go Power Rangers #9, the main cover is by Dan Mora, with variant covers by Miguel Mercado, Audrey Mok, and Natacha Bustos. Check out the images by clicking the title of the story!

As Power Rangers: Shattered Grid draws ever closer, the anticipation for Boom! Studios’ forthcoming comic book event grows higher and higher and thanks to IGN, we have a number of new covers and concept art pieces to tease what the story has in store for fans.

First up are the latest sentries to join the evil Lord Drakkon’s growing army – the Zeo and Samurai Sentries! Much like the previously seen sentries these soldiers have augmented versions of preexisting ranger powers. The Green Zeo Sentry is equipped with a mech suit that can use a variety of weapons, whilst the Blue Samurai Sentry sports a more armoured version of the costume together with twin arm blades and red eyes glowing through their visor.

The third piece of concept art for the event is of a new villain from Drakkon’s timeline – Finster Five. Go Go Power Rangers writer Ryan Parrott pitched the character as a version of a cyborg version of Rita’s chief monster maker that has been augmented using parts from Alpha 5.

Rounding off the images are the covers for Power Rangers #27 and Go Go Power Rangers #9, each of which show off some new faces to the Power Rangers comic universe. Power Rangers #27 shows the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger protecting RPM’s Dr K from Grinders alongside the female Red Samurai Rangers, while Go Go Power Rangers #9 has an even bigger surprise in store. This issue is set to debut a brand new Power Ranger, who writers Ryan Parrot and Kyle Higgins tease is a “new ranger with a familiar face”.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise, Power Rangers: Shattered Grid kicks off in issue #25 of the main Power Rangers comic, which will be released on March 21st. This April begins the mega event for the Power Rangers comic book universe! The Shattered Grid event, which takes place in both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers, features the return of the evil Lord Drakkon (the evil Tommy from a future alternate universe) and our heroes attempt to stop him. And they’ll need help from different Power Rangers throughout the Power Rangers Universe!

We have covers courtesy of IGN.com as well as some of the teams that will be featured in the Shattered Grid event! In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers you can expect to see Power Rangers Dino Charge, Power Rangers Time Force, Power Rangers RPM, and Power Rangers Ninja Steel.

In the Power Rangers Annual, which will feature specific characters, it would seem like we’re getting such classic Rangers as the Zeo Gold Ranger, In Space Blue Ranger, SPD Shadow Ranger, Samurai Red Ranger, and more!

The universe within BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers comics are about to get much bigger! The first-ever comic event in franchise history, “Shattered Grid” begins within Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 25 releasing on March 21st, 2018. The evil Lord Drakkon – the alternate future Tommy Oliver who never became good – is back. And he’s raised an evil army that has the Power Rangers and the morphin grid itself in its sights.

The Shattered Grid event will also have ripples in the Go Go Power Rangers comic series. For those who haven’t followed Go Go Power Rangers, that comic book follows the original five Mighty Morphin Power Rangers literally right after they become Power Rangers and how it effects their personal lives. In the book, a fan-favorite Power Ranger from the future will arrive looking for Lord Drakkon and will end up dividing the team “in a very personal way”.

All in all – the existence of the Power Rangers past, present, and future is at stake in this event. So, naturally, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are going to need to help of Power Rangers from all walks of the franchise to help out. The event begins with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue 25 on March 21st, 2018. It continues in Go Go Power Rangers Issue 9 releasing in April. The event will also have two one-issue specials during 2018.
