Teaser for The Ranger Sequel, The Ranger Comeback, Spring 2015

Posted on January 27, 2015 at 1:45 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The news dropped a couple of days ago that The Ranger fan film will be getting a sequel which will release in Spring 2015. Today, a teaser trailer was dropped by Matt Jayson who stars as The Ranger. Check it out below.

The Ranger takes a look at our hero, Jason Lee Scott (played by Matt Jayson), in the present day. The original film captured the audience’s attention because it portrayed Jason in a more real-life sense – just how would a teenager with attitude cope with having to give up so much of their young life to save the world only to end up losing their powers and then having to figure a way to make it on their own without being able to reveal just who they were and what they did? Would they be bitter? Would they suffer from a form of PTSD? The Ranger gave us a glimpse at that entire situation before getting in to the story – that Agent Kimberly Hart has gone missing, and there’s only one person that they can think of to find her and get her back – Jason, aka The Ranger.

Share your thoughts on this teaser and what you hope to see in the next installment of The Ranger! And if you have some questions, be sure to ask them – we’ll be sitting down with the creator and star of the film, Matt Jayson, very soon so he can answer all of our, and all of your, questions!

Power Rangers Dino Charge Armored Might Red Ranger Gallery

Posted on January 26, 2015 at 6:48 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

It’s another year of Power Rangers merchandise which means it’s another year for the continuation of the Armored Might sub-line of figures. Following the successful line of figures from Power Rangers Super Megaforce which included figures like the Silver Ranger, Mighty Morphin Green Ranger, and Mighty Morphin White Ranger, the first figure to be released in the Power Rangers Dino Charge line is none other than the star of the show – the Dino Charge Red Ranger.

Featuring a grand total of 12 accessories and the now commonplace heavy muscular build, this figure is able to be posed in a variety of ways. The included accessories allow you to customize your Ranger to match all of his on-screen appearances with various Dino Charger power-ups. But even this muscular hulk of a hero has his flaws.

Check out the full gallery as well as our review by clicking here or by clicking on the “Discuss on the TokuNation forums” link at the bottom of this post. Have you picked up this figure? Do you plan to? What do you think this figure needs to make it a must-buy? Sound off in the discussion thread!

And here’s a special treat – our own staff member baltmatrix purchased this figure and did a quick review on it. Find out his thoughts and see if they match your own with the video below.

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Press Conference Reveals Story & Merchandise Details

Posted on January 24, 2015 at 1:20 pm by Paladin under Super Sentai

The official reveal of the 39th Super Sentai Series occurs this weekend in Japan! We now have some remarkable new details about the story and production in this new series. With thanks to The Tokusatsu Network for translations-

*Series producer Naomi Takebe states the series will focus on anything fun and include some extensive new stuntwork. TV-Asahi producer Chihiro Inoue suggests that Ninninger will contain several reworks of established Sentai formula in order to create heroes that all viewers will cheer for.

*Long-time special effects director Hiroshi Wakita was responsible for the main Mecha, ShuriKenJin. Wakita suggested combining every major gimmick into a single series because he had grown bored with recent themes.

In addition we learned several new details about the new villain group in this series!

*The Kiba Oni Army seek to restore their greatest general, Gangetsu. To accomplish this, the Army must gather the power of fear from humans.

*The Army create Yokai by attaching 1 of their 48 magical artifacts known as Sealing Shurikens to everyday objects, mutating them into monsters.

Last but certainly not least we received several new images of Ninninger merchandise- including the Shinobi, the Shurikens and ShuriKenJin!

S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Red Gallery 2.0!

Posted on January 23, 2015 at 10:47 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

Brave in!

TokuNation has slowly begun the process of going through it’s archive of toy galleries to revamp some of our older work and re-present to the community. This process began with our  Gokai Christmas Gallery 2.0 and today we continue it in honor of the upcoming February 7th premiere of Power Rangers Dino Charg!  It’s time to check out the S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Red Gallery 2.0!

Released way back in October 2013, Kyoryu Red was the first figuart from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, though far from the last. Kyoryu Red began a new era of consistency and detail in sentai figuarts that for the most part has remained consistent since. Daigo, includes a plethora of accessories that really make this release one of the best for 2013 and still one of the best Sentai Figuarts to date. The included Gaburevolver, Gaburicalibur, and even Gabutyra Fang & Zyudenchi allow this figure to really capture the wild flexibility and mannerisms of Kyoryu Red and look fantastic wild doing it.

Frankly S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Red is one of my absolute favorite figures. And it’s still cheap on most secondary market websites! This figure and the remaining Kyoryugers won’t be imported by Bluefin so now’s the time to jump on it before the actual premiere of Power Rangers Dino Charge drives up demand with Western fans. For now though feel free to browse through a full 80 image gallery of this incredible figure after the jump! We’ll be back soon with 3 more Gallery 2.0’s as well focusing on the other 5 Kyoryugers!
