S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1 Gallery

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 4:51 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Riderrrrrrrr, henshin!”

While this release just barely made it’s way out at the end of 2017, it’s already set the bar very high for where figures for 2018 should be. After 10 years of S.H. Figuarts, and numerous releases in one form or another of this character, Tamashii Nations has finally made the definitive figure of Takeshi Hongo’s heroic rider form. We thought it only appropriate that on today, what would have been Shotaro Ishinomori’s 80th birthday, we share our gallery of S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

From the ground up, Seihou Rider 1 is the ultimate representation of this character in 1/12 scale form. Faithfully recreating Kamen Rider 1’s most iconic look in his “Shin” costume from later in the original TV series, this appearance is how Hongo has appeared for nearly all of his appearances since it’s debut well over 40 years ago. Elevating the engineering of figuarts once again, this Shinkocchou Seihou release manages to capture the wonder of this costume perfectly and translate it’s essence into a dynamic action figure any collector should be proud to own.

We’ve attached the FULL 100 image gallery to this post, but you can also see our extensive review in the thread linked below. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” below to see the entire gallery thread for S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

Rogue: 3 Episode Spinoff Announced For Kamen Rider Build

Posted on January 24, 2018 at 10:39 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Similar to last years’ Kamen Rider Snipe Episode Zero mini-series, Kamen Rider Build will be giving the same treatment to none other than Night Rogue!

Simply titled Rogue, this new mini-series will focus on Gentoku Himuro with his aide Nariaki Utsumi, as well as Souichi/Blood Stalk making appearances. We can also see from the brief trailer Toei has released that the Kaisers from Heisei Generations Final will make a cameo as well. From the looks of the special it appears we’ll mostly be getting insight into the events of the 10 years which preceded the TV series, including Gentoku’s exposure to Nebula Gas and subsequent assumption of the Night Rogue identity.

Rogue begins with the first Kamen Rider Build Blu-Ray Set which is due for release on March 28th!

S.H. Figuarts Gel Shocker Combatman Confirmed for June 2018

Posted on January 24, 2018 at 10:05 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

As the revitalization of the Showa Era continues from Tamashii Nations, we have one more enemy grunt to add to our collections. Appropriately, following on from the upcoming Renewal of the Shocker Combatman in February is the successor to those very troops. S.H. Figuarts Gel Shocker Combatman!

Gel Shocker was the first organization to succeed the original Shocker in it’s quest for world dominance. Formed by Shocker’s Great Leader, and Geldamn’s General Black, this group culled the ranks of the original Shocker even down to it’s reliable Combatman men. This purge resulted in the introduction of the new Gel Shocker Combatmen who wold menace the Double Riders for some time to come. This new figure is the first instance of Gel Shocker in the figuarts toyline and it looks to be a pretty spectacular release. The Gel Shocker Combatman utilizes the new body enginered for the Renewal Shovcker Combatman and includes both the spiked staff & sword these soldiers were known to use.

The Gel Schocker Combatman will be release in June 2018 as a Tamashii Web Exlcusive for 5400 yen. Be sure to get in touch with your preferred middleman or service in order to secure an order in the near future. Credit to Tendou Toys for sharing this image with us.

London Toy Fair 2018 – 1st Image of Legacy 6.5″ Red & Blue Psycho Rangers!

Posted on January 23, 2018 at 8:36 am by Den-O under Conventions, Other Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

We’ve only just begun reporting our findings from London Toy Fair 2018, but unfortunately the entire Bandai Power Rangers display is currently under a photo ban. Which is pretty typical for these events and held true at last year’s London Toy Fair as well. However, someone at the show was apparently daring enough to snap at least one picture., and this is kind of  a big one. Now we have our very first look at the Power Rangers Legacy 6.5″ Red & Blue Psycho Rangers!

TokuNation user thedangerranger was kind enough to share this image on our forums. From what we can gather, these figures are not in a prominent area of the Bandai UK display space. Given that they aren’t even standing up properly, it’s even possible they may have been totally overlooked. From what we can see though the sculpt looks on point for both and each appears to include their appropriate weapon as well, Red’s Psycho Sword & Blue’s Psycho Axe. When and if a better look at these figure from the event becomes available we hope to be able to share it with you!

S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo (Kamen Rider 1) Gallery

Posted on January 22, 2018 at 11:38 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Henshin!”

For the last 47 years, Japan & the world have been safe guarded thanks to the selfless actions of heroes known as Kamen Riders. Among their ranks, one stands above as the most iconic character the franchise has ever produced. The original Kamen Rider himself, Takeshi Hongo! After 10 years of various Kamen Rider 1 S.H. Figuarts releases, Tamashii Nations has finally released what is sure to be a centerpiece for many collections with S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

Joining Dan Moroboshi & Retsu Ichijoji, Hongo is the first civilian form Kamen Rider figuart to be released. Based on one of Hongo’s more iconic looks in his dashing black suit, this figure features the stunning likeness of actor Hiroshi Fujioka circa 1971. To replicate Hongo’s transformation into Kamen Rider 1, a really unique effect sheet is included, as well as several sets of hands. This release may seem a bit lite on accessories, but it’s honestly just right. Bringing to life the early days of Kamen Rider like this is just really refreshing as well. I love buying my modern riders too, but seeing the Showa era continue to receive this level of love is wonderful.

We’ve attached the full 70+ image gallery to this post, but you can also read up on our full review of Takeshi Hongo as well by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll back next time with a brand new gallery of the hotly anticipated S.H. Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider 1!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega (Amazon JP Edition) Gallery

Posted on January 16, 2018 at 1:35 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

“NEW OMEGA”

We took a short break but now we’re back with out first brand new gallery of 2018! At both the beginning and end of last year, we really opened our Amazons with 6 galleries from the hit series. Alpha, Omega, Jungraider, Sigma, Mole Amazon, & Neo. To kick this year off we’ve decided to start with a gallery of the Amazon Japan exclusive edition of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon New Omega!

New Omega is Haruka Mizusawa’s upgrade from the 2nd season of Amazons, and the first true upgrade for any of the riders in the show. Using the new Neo Amazons Driver, Haruka’s traditional Omega suit gets retrofitted with cybernetic parts that give him a wild and unfinished look that’s really striking. This Amazon JP edition of the figure includes all the of the standard accessories like the Neo Blade arm, an Amazons Syringe, and two sets of hands, but also comes with the exclusive Green Tamashii Flame Effects!

We’ve attached the full 50+ image gallery of Amazon New Omega to this post, but you can also check out our full review of the figure after the jump. Just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to the full thread. We’ll be back later this week with a full gallery & review of S.H. Figuarts Takeshi Hongo!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type Special Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 31, 2017 at 5:31 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Kamen Rider, Network News and Updates, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

“I’ve taken my sons’ Drive back!!”

As we prepare to celebrate the new year, we look forward to the future. What? No, not 2018, but the year 2035! The Paradox Roidmude traveled back from that time to trick Kamen Rider Drive into giving him his ultimate power. Desecrating even the memory of Shinnosuke’s son, by posing as him to do it. Using the corrupted powers of the future Drive, Paradox tried to take everything from Shinnosuke. But with a bit of luck, Mr. Belts’ help, and the spirit of Eiji Tomari a power was born to defeat Paradox. A fusion of Shinnosuke’s Type Speed and Eiji’s un-corrupted Type Next, the subject of our final gallery of the year is none other than S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Drive Type Special!

Drive Type Special is one again heavily based  on the trusty Type Speed body we’ve come to know over the years. More specifically it’s a slight repaint and remold of Dark Drive which was also recently released. The two suits were exclusive to the Kamen Rider Drive Surprise Future movie.  This figure takes the great things implemented with Dark Drive and adds a more heroic spin to them. While lite on the accessories, Drive Type Special is just such a charming release, and it’s nice to have one more of Drive’s movie exclusive forms at last.

We’ve attached the full 60+ image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our full review by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll see again in the future! Happy New Year!

S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 29, 2017 at 11:24 am by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Electroplate”!

The original Space Sheriff Gavan is without a doubt one of the most iconic tokusatsu heroes ever. The originator of the Metal Heroes franchise & Space Sheriff title, Gavan has been in a resurgence ever since his 2011 return in Gokaiger VS Gavan. Reprising the role of this iconic character each time has been legendary actor Kenji Ohba! Now, years after the first Gavan figuarts were released and even the Gavan Renewals, we at last have Gavan’s civilian form with S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijoji!

Retsu Ichijoji is the 2nd release in Bandai’s new sub-line of civilian identity figuarts, preceded by Dan Moroboshi and followed by Takeshi Hongo. Improving on the faults of Dan, Retsu is a fantastic release. Bringing to life the young likeness of Kenji Ohba, this figure fantastically replicates Gavan circa his debut in 1982. Boasting some really great articulation Retsu is complimented by a couple set of hands as well as an effect sheet to replicate the electroplating process that transforms him into Space Sheriff Gavan!

We’ve attached the full 75 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our full review of the figure by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with (hopefully) one more gallery before the new year!

Ultra Seven: S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 22, 2017 at 3:54 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

“Ultra Eye!”

In a year that celebrates the 10th anniversary of the S.H. Figuarts toyline, Tamashii Nations is also helping to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic series Ultra Seven! In honor of this, Bandai has recently released S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi, the civilian identity of the gigantic hero Ultra Seven!

Dan, is the first in a series of new civilian identity S.H. Figuarts, that’s already been followed by Retsu Ichijoji as well as Takeshi Hongo. This release sets a sort of new standard for what to expect, and for where improvements can be made to this type of release as well. The biggest thing I notice with this figure, is that Bandai has massively stepped up their face printing technology, and the figure has a true to life sculpt & paint job. Dan looks like he jumped right off the screen. Dan also includes a fantastic array of accessory giving him a full compliment Ultra Garrison items and his Ultra Seven transformation device, the Ultra Eye!

We’ve attached the full 50 image gallery to this post, but you can also check out our in-depth review of S.H. Figuarts Dan Moroboshi after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back next week with more new galleries for Toku Toy Box!
