Ultraman: S.H. Figuarts Gomora Gallery

Posted on September 24, 2017 at 3:32 pm by Den-O under TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights, Ultraman

It’s time once again to check out a giant sized creature of epic proportions in another Ultraman S.H. Figuarts gallery! Dating back to the original TV series, episode 26 to be exact, is the immense creature Gomora! Though we’ve seen examples of this species many times since it’s debut, the most memorable for many is still the original.

S.H. Figuarts Gomora is a pretty beefy figure when you get right down to it. A beast fit to fight your Ultramen figures. Gomora lacks some of the better articulation we’ve come to expect with Kaiju figuarts, but does make up for things with his wonderfully segmented tail. Pair him up with your S.H. Figuarts Ultraman, or in my case the old Ultra-Act V2, and you can see just why Kaiju figuarts continue to go strong. He even includes some special accessories to replicate his severed tail and horn from his battle with Ultraman!

We’ve attached the full 70 image gallery to this post but you can also check out our full length review of S.H. Figuarts Gomora by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. Next time we’ll be back to “Start our mission” with a brand new gallery from Kamen Rider Drive!

S.H. Figuarts Tokkei Winspector Full Package Option Set Gallery

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 10:50 am by Den-O under Metal Heroes, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“MAYDAY MAYDAY S.O.S.!”

No surprise after all this time, but Tokkei Winspector is my absolute favorite Metal Heroes series. One of my all time tokusatsu period. And over the last two years Tamashii Nations has really treated fans like myself to a great selection of collector figures. We’ve gotten the entire team with Fire, Bikel, & Walter! And late last year a massive accessory pack was released for the trio. Well at long last I’ve been able to complete my comprehensive gallery of this set. The S.H. Figuarts Tokkei Winspector Full Package Option Set!

This sprawling accessory set makes up the totality of every relevant accessory ever used in the series. From Bikel & Walter’s Maintenance tables to Fire’s Win/Fire Badge, even minor weapons like the Clapper & Spin Claw, all the way up to the (literal) big guns like the Giga Streamer in all 3 of it’s forms! We even get treated to 3 full Multi Packs compatible with each figure and a selection of harness to accommodate them. This truly is the most complete accessory set I’ve ever seen for S.H. Figuarts. I am beyond pleased.

I have taken far far too long to finally get this gallery polished off, but I’m so proud of the results. This was a labor of love for me. Giving my favorite Metal Hero team their due. This gallery consists of 140 images, we’ve attached every one of them to this post. You can also click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be take to our extensive review thread for this set. While there are still a few releases I would love to see for this series, as detailed in the thread, for now I can happily say, farewell Winspector.

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 9:35 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Collectors have speculated since GX-72 Daizyujin was released it’s been speculated whether it would sell well enough to warrant the release of more Zyuranger mecha. And Dragon Caesar has been at the top of many Japanese and Western fans’ wishlists. Well wait no longer, it appears that Soul of Chogokin Dragon Caesar is now in production!

Dengeki Hobby has released a scan of a the initial design work for Dragon Caesar, seen here via @TendouToys on twitter, seemingly confirming it’s forthcoming. While there are absolutely no release details available right now, this clearly points towards this mighty figure being released sometime next year. We’ll keep you up to date as more information becomes available for this release.

S.H. Figuarts Brave Taddle Legacy & Blind Amazon Alpha Revealed!

Posted on September 13, 2017 at 2:18 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

In a double whammy surprise reveal @_Erasu on twitter has just dropped a couple bombshells on two sought after figures from two recent rider shows. First up we have the reveal S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Brave Legacy Gamer Level 100! Yet another instance of Bandai skipping past some forms from Ex-Aid in favor of more recent or popular ones, but I doubt we’ll see too many complaining about this one. Second, we have the the long awaited S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Blind Alpha. The primary differences between this release and the original of course include the new blind head, as well as an included Amazon heart for Jin to chow down on!

Order pages with official release info have yet to go up for either of these new releases, but we know both will be Tamashii Web Exclusives. Tonight order pages will officially go live and we’ll be sure to update this article with all the pertinent information you need to make arrangements with your favorite middleman service!

Ultra-Act Ultraman Belial Gallery

Posted on September 4, 2017 at 6:40 pm by Den-O under Uncategorized

“Watch as I become the Emperor of the Galaxy!”

8 years ago Ultraman Belial made his debut in Mega Monster Battle, and ever since we’ve seen dark ripples related to him throughout the Ultra universe. One of the darkest villains this franchise has ever seen, Belial has persisted to fight heroes at every turn even beyond his own multiple deaths. And even despite his evil, he’s managed to spawn a heroic son in Ultraman Geed. Despite his prominence Belial has only ever received a couple of really nice collector oriented figures. So given Geed’s popularity we wanted to do a throwback gallery to the original Ultra-Act Ultraman Belial!

One of the oldest Ultra-Act releases in the line, in fact the 2nd, Ultraman Belial still holds up pretty well all these years later. While not perfect, Belial has a surprising amount of personality and is an intricately detailed figure. Actually Belial even has a really great set of accessories. His alternate claw hands, the Giga Battle Nizer in 2 configurations, and even specific effect parts for the Belial Shot & Belial Deathscythe attacks! Frankly this is an incredible release for the time.

We’ve attached the full gallery of over 70 images to this post, but you can also check out a full review in the gallery thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back soon with another exciting gallery as well.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Hyper Form (Original Release) Gallery

Posted on September 1, 2017 at 1:31 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“Hyper Cast Off.”

There’s only one man who can walk the path of heaven. And while it’s been a long time coming, Bandai is finally tackling Kamen Rider Kabuto’s most powerful form with a new Shinkocchou Seihou figuart. However, with this premium do over on the way (as always) we like to reflect on the original figure that needed an update in the first place. With that said, let’s take a look at S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Hyper Form (original Release.)

The original Kabuto Hyper Form was released nearly 7 years ago. In terms of where figuarts engineering is today, that’s an eternity. Many releases from this era have begun the transition into the Shinkocchou Seihou line but many more still need it as well. Hyper Kabuto though manages to still be a charming figure even after all these years thanks to a fairly involved Clock Up transformation, his Perfect Zecter, & the included wings of light for his Hyper Kick. What we’ve seen of the Shinkocchou Seihou release already puts this one to shame, but for a collector on a budget the original release of Kabuto Hyper Form is still a worthwhile alternative.

We’ve attached the entire 80 image gallery to this post, but you can click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see full gallery thread with review. We’ll be back next time with another throwback gallery, this time focusing on Ultraman Belial!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Sigma Gallery

Posted on August 25, 2017 at 7:40 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

“I’ll have you beaten in five moves.”

Before Dangerous Zombie there was another rider of the undead. A dark science experiment using human flesh & Amazon cells, Jun Maehara returned from the dead as a cold killing machine. Finally making his figuarts debut, the third & most dangerous Amazon rider arrives. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Amazon Sigma!

Amazon Sigma is the first use of the new Wild/Origin body. Surely a hint that Amazon Omega Origin will be released sometime in the future? In any case, this is a great new mold. Some sharp mold details and exquisite paint apps also go a long way to giving this menacing character the proper presence and personality he deserves. Included with Sigma are 3 sets of extra hands ass well as a set of the popular Tamashii Flame Effects in purple.

We’ve attached the full 60+ image gallery to this post but you can also check out a comprehensive review in the full gallery thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back next week with a throwback gallery of an older release from Kamen Rider Kabuto!
