Hot on the heels of the Gavan/Dekaranger Space Squad movie announcement is a brand new revel for Metal Hero collectors. Possibly to coincide with the upcoming films’ release is S.H. Figuars Space Sheriff Gavan Type G (Space Squad)! Pictures from the C3Tokyo event, and this figure, come via Figsoku.

We don’t currently have any confirmed release details for this figure. What we can tell you is that a renewal of the Gavan S.H. Figuarts mold was first revealed way back at Tamashii Nations 2014. Though it never actually saw release. This film may finally be the excuse Bandai needed to release the renewal Gavan body, with Type G beating out original Gavan.

As we get more confirmed details for S.H. Figuars Space Sheriff Gavan Type G (Space Squad) we’ll keep you updated.

This expensive collector piece was revealed only yesterday, but now we have our first official look at the Tamashii Lab Laser Blade from Space Sheriff Gavan! 

As reported previously this impressive item features an IR sensor that lets the Laser Blade detect your hand as you slide ir up the blade to “charge” it in the same way that Gavan does for his Gavan Dynamic attack. Whilst doing so you can press a button on the hilt to the either the series BGM, or rapidly press it to recreate sound effects from the show. These images also confirm the inclusion of the fantastic set of display hands to hold the Laser blade. See the promo video below with the legendary actor who played Gavan, Mr. Kenji Ohba, demonstrating these wonderful features.

The Tamashii Lab Laser Blade is set for January 2017 release for a whopping 16,200 yen.

More good news for Metal Hero fans!

Toei has announced a high-definition home media release for the legendary Metal Hero, Space Sheriff Gavan!

Two box sets will be released containing the entire 44-episode series. The first announced special feature is an interview with the Gavan crew- specifically, Kenji Ohba (who portrayed the title character), Osamu Kaneda (the series’ action director) and Jun Murakami, stuntman & suit actor for Gavan.

Volume 1 will be released on January 1, 2017 while Volume 2 is tentatively scheduled for release on March 8, 2017. Each volume is priced at 29000 Yen.

Legacy Collection what? It looks like Tamashii Nations is getting in on premium 1:1 scale replicas for a whole new subset of fans, specifically Metal Heroes. We’ve just gotten our first look at the upcoming Tamashii Lab Laser Blade! A lifesize replica of Space Sheriff Gavan’s signature weapon.

This surprising piece looks to be one of the most complex replica weapons Bandai has produced to date. Featuring an IR sensor, the Laser Blade allows you to slide your hand up the blade to “charge” it in the same way that Gavan does for his Gavan Dynamic attack. Whilst doing so the Blade lights up in sequence and plays the appropriate sound effects while also playing the series’ BGM!

The Tamashii Lab Laser Blade is set for January 2017 release for a whopping 16,200 yen. Currently it’s believed to be a Premium Bandai exclusive releases but we don’t have confirmation on that as of yet.

Mayday mayday SOS!

And we’re back to kick off a new month of toy galleries with another classic character from 1990’s Tokkei Winspector! Earlier this year we took a look at the team leader of Winspector with S.H. Figuarts Fire. Today we get to examine one of Fires’ two robotic partners, S.H. Figuarts Bikel!

Bikel builds on the already solid design and accessory count of Fire, and gives us just a little bit more. Managing to have a ton of personality, Bikel is one of the more interesting robots you could have in your collection. His wild & rambunctious attitude in the show is conveyed perfectly in this excellent figure. Bikel includes his Daytric M2 Sidearm, his signature Bispears in multiple forms, 4 sets of hands, and even a tiny to scale figure of Demitasse, the Winspector’s tiny robotic ally!

After an initial teaser was posted last week on the Tamashii Web Shop, Bandai has just fully officially revealed official images of the S.H. Figuarts Winspector Full Package Option Set!

This incredible set is pretty much the pinnacle of accessory packs. It includes just about everything you could possibly need to compliment your full Winspector trio:

  • Fire’s Gigastreamer super weapon and the Spin Claw mode attachment
  • 2 Hand Wappers/cuffs (1 large set, 1 small)
  • 2 Winbadge’s for fire (1 opened, 1 closed)
  • 2 maintenance chairs for Bikel & Walter
  • All 3 Multi-Pack backpacks for each member of the team

Gokai Change!

It’s the gimmick that just won’t ever fade away, Ranger Keys! Today we’re taking a look at just the latest set from Premium Bandai released in this 5 year old line of collectible trinkets. Today’s subject is the Ranger Key Set Metal Hero Edition!

This incredible new set seeks to fill out some long standing gaps in Ranger Key collection, following up on a Ranger Key set released 3 years ago to coincide with Super Hero Taisen Z. That set introduced 6 Metal Heroes into the line with Jiraya, Jiban, Draft Redder, Janperson, Blue Beet, & B-Fighter Kabuto. The Metal Hero Edition adds another 10 Metal Heroes to the line up with:

The Tamashii Web Shop has made a small update to S.H. Figuarts Bikel’s order page with the addition of a new image. One teasing the release of a Full Package Option Set for the Winspector trio!

The Full Package is a set of backpacks and additional weapons each uniquely suited to the 3 Winspector members. In the vintage toyline for Winspector each figure included these accessories. The S.H. Figuarts release of the Full Package accessories made their 1st appearances at Tamashii Nations 2015 last October, without release information. But today’s tease officially confirms that this set will be made available for pre-order via the Tamashii Web Shop in the near future!

And just like that we have another official image turn around for a recently confirmed release. Just confirmed via magazine scans earlier this week, the Tamashii Web Shop has posted an ordering page with official images for S.H. Figuarts Walter!

Walter is the 3rd and final member of the Tokkei Winspector trio. An eagerly awaited release (for this collector personally) Walter looks to be another excellent Metal Hero addition to your collection. Included with this release are a range of great accessories. Walter comes with an excellent 5 pairs of hands, the standard Daytric M2, his wing/jetpack the Dislider, and 2 cans of oil!

MAY DAY, MAY DAY!

The final member of the Special Rescue Police Winspector, the latest team from the Metal Heroes series to join the S.H. Figuarts line will arrive in August as a Tamashii web exclusive! The latest batch of magazine scans have confirmed Walter‘s release, as well as a price tag of 7020 yen. Information on his accessories will likely follow soon.
