GODZILLA – I assume we can be guaranteed of an American landfall… even if this FEMA set is actually in Vancouver, where the Godzilla crew is busily making this recovery center. Right now – I’m just imagining a giant Godzilla foot stomping through the arena top and smashing all the injured and recovering folks below. The Godzilla Movie Site has posted an interesting piece of info. Apparently a rumor has been floating around since February that Toho (Godzill’s license holder) may require Legendary Pictures, which is producing the Godzilla 2014 film, to use actual suitmation in filming! Suitmation being the use of actual physical suits with actors in them (like Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, etc) rather than CGI.

This rumor hasn’t been confirmed by Legendary Pictures or the films’ director Gareth Edwards, but it would stand to reason that Toho would like to see suitmation in this film over the more generally used CGI. This keeping with the roots of the classic Godzilla franchise. The suit design attached to this article would certainly imply that Toho wants to see this happen.

Dread Central has reported that actor Akira Takarada wants in on the upcoming Godzilla 2014 movie. Need to refresh your memory? Here’s the Godzilla films that Takarada has starred in, according to Dread Central:

To date Takarada has been seen in the original Godzilla King of the Monsters, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992), Godzilla: Final Wars and even the wonderfully wacky King Kong Escapes!

Tamashii Nations has revealed the official images for a MonsterArts we’ve all been aware of- Godzilla, 1964 Version! A new sculpt, the iconic Kaiju stands at 145mm and is sculpted by Yuji Sakai.

If you haven’t picked up any other Godzilla releases, you can pick up this bad boy for 6,090 Yen. His release is in July 2013.
