SDCC 2017 – Legacy Golden Power Staff

Posted on July 22, 2017 at 11:25 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

One of the biggest reveals from San Diego Comic Con 2017 was the upcoming Legacy Golden Power Staff due out in stores sometime in Fall of 2018. The Golden Power Staff was the weapon for the sixth Power Ranger from Power Rangers Zeo, the Gold Ranger. The details of the item are below:

  • Has diecast metal
  • Features lights and sound
  • Interactive like in the show (the blade portion moves up and down, the staff opens up when the button is pressed)
  • Due in retail Fall 2018

Bandai America SDCC Exclusives Revealed – First Legacy Power Rangers Zeo Item

Posted on June 28, 2017 at 4:08 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

San Diego Comic Con is less than a month away and thanks to the official San Diego Comic Con website, we have our first look at the upcoming exclusives from Bandai America.

First up – the very first Power Rangers Zeo Legacy item! It’s time for a Gold Rush as you will look stylish and sleek sporting your brand new 14K(ish) gold plated communicator. The Power Rangers Zeo Legacy Gold Ranger Communicator will be available at the show for $100, but will easily be worth thousands of dollars within moments of landing in someone’s hands because this is the only item worth purchasing at the entire convention this summer. And if you end up one spot in line ahead of me and you get a guaranteed ticket and I’m stuck with a raffle I am liable to put you on a voodoo doll when I return home, obviously in tears, because the greatest convention exclusive of all time didn’t land in my hands. Is it natural to salivate in a news story about a toy?

For the Power Rangers Movie fans, a Legacy Movie Megazord figure will be available to purchase for $40. As of this time, we are unsure what differences this has from the original figure assembled with the Legacy Power Rangers Movie figures from earlier this year.

Finally, a Tokyo Vinyl Black and Gold Megazord figure will be available for $60.

More information on these exclusives, as well as their availability (as always they will be limited), will be released soon. Stay tuned for more updates!

Easily the most anticipated part of the Legacy 6.5″ Figure line is the release of the Power Rangers Zeo figures. On display at Toy Fair 2017 was the entire assortment of Power Rangers Zeo including the Build a Megazord figure, the Zeo Megazord. Power Rangers Zeo Legacy 6.5″ Figures Revealed at Power Morphicon

Posted on August 13, 2016 at 4:03 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Morphicon, Power Rangers

The hits just keep coming with another new reveal from Bandai America’s panel at Power Morphicon!

Long awaited by many collectors, the Zeo Rangers will be the next team to receive the Legacy treatment in Bandai’s 6.5″ collector aimed line. Presumably the build-a-figure would be of the Zeo Megazord but there’s no confirmation on that currently. Though we can confirm the massive smile on Kickback’s face with that Legacy Zeo Gold Ranger reveal ;)

Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5 Inch Zeo Gold Ranger Gallery

Posted on October 23, 2015 at 5:33 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Quick as lightning, strong as steel, watch out danger he’s for real, you know when lightning strikes it’s Gold Ranger!

I decided to finally crack open my personal collection of Gold Ranger figures to do a gallery and review for the 5″ Zeo Gold Ranger figure from the end of the Power Rangers Super Megaforce 5″ figure series. Short-packed (one per case) and part of the final wave, this figure wasn’t necessarily found by many people in many of the big stores (I personally found my figure in a Walgreens).

The figure is an excellent addition to any fan’s collection and especially for fans of the original Gold Ranger. The articulation is on par with Ranger figures from the 5″ line from Bandai America and probably due to my personal love for the character cause it to be even more so amazing to photograph. Check out 46 high definition images of the Power Rangers Zeo Gold Ranger 5″ figure by clicking here or by clicking the ”Discuss on TokuNation Forums” link at the end of the story.

Do you have this figure – if so, what do you think? Any other Gold Ranger fans out there? Give some love to this awesome Ranger in the gallery discussion!

SDCC 2015: TokuNation Interviews Bandai of America

Posted on July 12, 2015 at 11:48 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Rounding out our coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2015 we have a couple gems to share with you. Our own Kickback just sat down with Bandai of America for an interview on current & upcoming products and a few other goodies fans have been clamoring for with Power Rangers Legacy & Dino Charge.

Starting things off we discussed Power Rangers Legacy items. These releases were apparently never meant to be chronological like collectors had assumed, it happened to just turn out that way. Bandai knows that the Ninja & Shogun Megazords as well as the Falconzord are all very obvious choices for the future. Power Rangers Zeo is also internally very popular. They also think a Legacy Gold Zeo Ranger Staff is a interesting idea ;) Legacy Tor was mentioned as well but as a whole they don’t want to destroy collectors’ wallets.

The Thunder Megazord shown at SDCC should be able to assumed the Assault Team sled mode, but they’ll get with their designers and give us an answer post-con. The Legacy Blade Blaster displayed was entirely a mock-up as the retail version wasn’t ready yet. They would like to do a role play item and a mech/figure item together if possible kinda like Saba and Tigerzord. Again they don’t want to break the bank. Fans have also asked recently about a Black & Gold Dragonzord, so we posed that question to Bandai. There response is “would fans buy it?”

For Dino Charge Bandai still asserts that if a Ranger appears in show, of which there’s likely to be 11 between DC & Supercharge, then there’s a very good chance to see it in toy form.  When asked about any possible gender swaps or sash swaps in the show, they referred back to the first answer. Bandai is also taking this position with Megazords, if it appears in the show footage it’s very likely to receive a toy. Villain figures are a key point of interest to Bandai as well since this is the first time since MMPR that waves are predominantly villains. Poisandra however is still cloudy. While Bandai is looking into it, it depends entirely on the characters trajectory in the show. They simply don’t know currently. The same can be said for why no Supercharge items were displayed – if it hasn’t been revealed in the show then they can’t necessarily show it in toy form without approval from Saban Brands.

Fans of Ranger Keys from Super Megaforce will also be sobered a bit.  Currently no plans for more Ranger Keys as the play pattern is no longer current.  Speaking of exclusives Bandai confirmed that they are upping their game for New York Comic Con to match the cons size. They will have an exclusive of some kind for this years show.

Bandai of America takes the fan opinion very seriously. They also want to cater to collectors and use the Legacy line as well as conventions to try and do that. They encourage fans to let them know what they think at conventions and such.

We’d like to thank Bandai of America for their time over the weekend for answering our questions and being awesome in general. The team is super excited for the future and can’t wait to show you what’s in store next. They hope you’ll come see them at this year’s NYCC.

Austin St John’s Raffle to Raise Funds for Survival’s End

Posted on March 22, 2015 at 10:51 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

We’re doing a series of updates on films starring or being created by former Power Rangers actors. And while TokuNation.com has avoided taking any public stance on any fan created films (due mostly in part to the sour taste left in everyone’s mouth due to one “film” in particular) we also think it’s only fair to inform our audience of these types of things because honestly – they’re pretty cool and we do hope they’re successful.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that Austin St. John, also known as the original Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as the greatest Power Ranger of all time, the Zeo Gold Ranger, is set to star in a post-apocalyptic world as a survivor who must lead other survivors to safety. The movie is called Survival’s End and the perks for donating to the campaign are interesting – everything from your name in the credits to a camping trip with the “OG Red” himself! Check out Austin St. John discussing the movie below.

We want to note – this campaign is considered flexible funding – no matter if they hit their incredibly high goal of ($275,000), any money you elect to donate will be given regardless if the goal is reached. But Austin St. John has taken things to a new level in the realm of fundraising – he’s selling raffle tickets for your chance to win a number of awesome Power Rangers collectibles, with his autograph on it, and a super rare opportunity to own the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger helmet that he’s been carrying with him for about a year or so now.

Click here to check out all the items available in the raffle! The money collected will go towards the creation of Survival’s End. To check out the Indiegogo for the movie, click here and look at your donation options.

Are you interested in seeing Survival’s End be made? What items from the list are you interested in buying a raffle ticket for? And what are your thoughts on more and more Power Rangers seeking your help in making movies? Sound off in our discussion thread!
