S.H. Figuarts Akaranger Gallery

Posted on October 21, 2014 at 2:01 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Go!

TokuNation has at long last made it’s way back to the first Sentai. Well, the show that retroactively is known as the first. Himitsu Sentai Goranger! Though it was nearly 20 years after it’s debut that this series gained it’s Super Sentai status it’s unquestionable that the series began a long tradition of colorful spandex heroes helping some big eyed bug men save Japan. So it’s about time that Bandai got around to making S.H. Figuarts Akaranger!

What better way to celebrate this legend than with a gorgeous sculpt, paint job and wealth of accessories? S.H. Figuarts Akaranger is no slouch! He includes several sets of new hands, two versions of his iconic Red Bute rope weapon, the Silver Shot pistol, the Birdie flying rockets, and even a version of the Goranger Storm Ball! Though this figure is a bit on the large side it’s still a fantastic addition to any sentai collector’s display.

Check out our full gallery of S.H. Figuarts Akaranger after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post.

Note that although the name on the box is spelled Akarenger, (official romanization) generally his name in English is accepted to be Akaranger, and Toei’s subsequent use of the actual word “Ranger” in many series and hero names would imply that should be the correct term in this instance. So for consistency we went with that.

S.H. Figuarts RX Bio Rider & Robo Rider Gallery

Posted on October 14, 2014 at 10:19 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

TokuNation is ready to kick off another round of new galleries, and this time with a  one-two punch of classic Showa Rider action! This week we spotlight Kamen Rider Black RX’s two alternate forms; Bio Rider & Robo Rider!

Bio Rider, known as the Prince of Anger, was RX’s second form. Born in a life threatening situation RX achieved this form to rescue his ally Joe The Haze. And S.H. Figuarts Bio Rider is definitely one finely detailed figure, one of the best detailed figuarts for some time, featuring some of Bandais recent trend of real detailing. Right down to “folds” in the costumes fabric which are faithfully recreated. Bio Rider comes complete with an astonishing 5 full sets of extra hands and his trademark Bio Blade weapon.

Robo Rider, known as the Prince of Sorrow, was RX’s first surprising alternate form. In response to the supposed death of the young girl Hitomi, Robo Rider debuted in battle against Death Garon. S.H. Figuarts Robo Rider is sadly not one of the best figuarts released recently and includes only a few extra hands along with his Vortech Shooter. However this figure along with Bio Rider completes a display of Kamen Rider Black/RX for figuarts collectors. Though it isn’t as nice as Bio Rider, there’s enough there to love.

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to a full gallery of both of these recent releases as well as in depth review of both.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Kachidoki Arms Gallery

Posted on October 10, 2014 at 11:31 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

It’s TokuNation’s Stage now! We’re back with another in our long running series of Kamen Rider Gaim Galleries! Today we’re examining the one and only S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Kachidoki Arms!

Kachidoki Arms is of course Kamen Rider Gaim’s 2nd upgraded form after Jinba Arms. This tank, for lack of a better description, was an absolute powerhouse in the TV series and in figure form it’s presence is imposing. Decked out head to toe with incredible finely sculpted features and exquisitely painted details this figure is a masterpiece. Not only that but includes almost every accessory you could need for it, like the DJ Gun & DJ Gun Taiken Mode as well as the Kachidoki Batta flag-like weapons. S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Kachidoki Arms is sure to be held up as one of the best SHF releases this year. Carrying on the excellent tradition begun by Gaim Oranger Arms, Kachidoki does not disappoint.

To see this figure in all it’s glory click “discuss on the TokuNation forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to a MASSIVE 80 image gallery as well as a full of Kachidoki Arms.

Raise up your flag!

Ultra-Act Ultraman Hikari Official Images

Posted on October 8, 2014 at 10:13 pm by Den-O under Ultraman

After a lenghty hiatus since the initial prototype was shown off, the long awaited Ultra-Act Ultraman Hikari will finally be released! Kazuya Serizawa, Hikari, hails from the series Ultraman Mebius.

Though the original prototype of this figure looked quite nice, the final product looks fantastic. Hikari appears to include at least 1 alternate form of the Knight Brace to allow for his Knight Blade effect part to be used. He also includes his Knight Shot beam effect, an alternate color timer, and at least 2 sets of additional hands. Hikari will be released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive in April 2015 for 4536 yen.

Join our ongoing discussion of the entire Ultra-Act toyline here. And to check out Hikari’s official images, click “discuss on the TokuNation forums” at the bottom of this post.

New S.H. Figuarts B-Fighter Images, G-Stag & Reddle Teased

Posted on October 7, 2014 at 4:50 am by ZeoRangerV under Metal Heroes

The official Tamashii Nations blog has just released some brand new images of the forthcoming web exclusive Blue Beet and Black Beet S.H. Figuarts figures, and along with them comes a shadowy picture of the remaining members of the Juukou B-Fighter team – G-Stag and Reddle! That’s right, the complete team will indeed be coming to the Figuarts line.

Western toku fans may better know these characters as the Green Hunter and Red Striker Beetleborgs from Big Bad Beetleborgs, the series which Saban adapted Juukou B-Fighter into.

No release date has been given for these two figures yet, but with the Tamashii Nations 2014 event coming at the end of the month more information could be coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy the teaser image along with the new images of Blue Beet (due for release in January) and Black Beet (due in March)!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gridon Donguri Arms Gallery

Posted on September 26, 2014 at 3:09 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Never give up!

Continuing 9 days of celebration for Kamen Rider Gaim and it’s finale, TokuNation proudly presents another long awaited gallery! Today we’re taking a look at S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gridon (Donguri Arms)! Kamen Rider Gridon is of course Hideyasu Jonouchi, the one time leader of Team Invitto, and half of the dynamic duo we’ve taken to calling the Nut Bros!

S.H. Figuarts Gridon  is another impressive addition to the Gaim line of S.H. Figuarts. Sporting his standard Donguri Arms and brandishing his trademark Donkachi hammer, Gridon is ready to bravely (sort of) save the day! This figure may be a bit sparse on accessories but it’s full of personality and exquisite details. Gridon is another winner in my book, check out our full review & 60 image gallery after the jump to see if he’s a winner in yours.

Our Gaim Celebration continues tomorrow with a look back at Kamen Rider Duke!

This elaborate set will be released in March 2015 for 9720 yen. It features a newly molded Ultraman Ace figure as Ace Robot. This imitation of Ace is seen in the 14th episode of his series. Created by Yapool to test the might of Ace Killer’s power this creature was quickly defeated. The set also includes 5 crosses to string up your various Ultramen on, as well as a pair of new beam effect to use with Ace Robot (or the real Ace if you so choose).

S.H. Figuarts Black Beet Official Images

Posted on September 24, 2014 at 11:42 pm by Den-O under Metal Heroes

With magazine scans out of the way for the month official images have begun to circulate for all the recently revealed figures. Today the Tamashii Web Shop has updated with official images and pricing for S.H. Figuarts Black Beet from Juuko B-Fighter!

Black Beet, or as western fans would  know him Shadowborg/General Venjix, will be released as Tamashii Web Exclusive in March 2015 for 5184 yen. It appears as though there will be no western market distribution for the B-Fighter figuarts. So if you have some sentimental love for these designs because of Big Bad Beetleborgs, you may want to get with a Tamashii Web Middleman to secure orders for Black Beet and the previously revealed Blue Beet.
