The Emissary of Hell, Spider-Man! 

My Shiny Toy Robots returns with another tokusatsu review, this time looking back on the 1978 collaboration between the Toei Company and Marvel Comics – Spider-Man!

Whilst many fans remember this series for the giant robot Leopardon and what its introduction did for the Super Sentai franchise, Toei’s Spider-Man has so much more to offer as well – and isn’t as far away from the spirit of the original Spidey as some would have you believe.

Bandai is gearing up to release yet another piece in the Kamen Rider Den-O arsenal with this recent teaser image that a Complete Selection Modification Zeronos belt is in fact on the way.

Sadly we don’t have any additional release info at this point in time, though be sure to check back with us when pre-orders begin on May 27th 2021 for further updates on this new exciting product.

GAO ACCESS!  

 

The second entry in Bandai’s fantastic Super Minipla Gaoranger lineup is finally gearing up for release, with full-color shots of the production-ready model for Super Minipla Gao Muscle having recently been found online.

Included in this set is everything you’ll need to build GaoGorilla, GaoBear, GaoPolar, GaoRhino, GaoArmadillo, and finally; the Muscle Anchor accesory. Of course, the Power Animals will be able to combine into an articulated Gao Muscle in both his standard mode, and Striker mode in addition to being fully compatible with the previously released GaoKing.

under Power Rangers

A new Fan First Friday event took place earlier today & Hasbro representatives announced a number of upcoming figures for the Power Rangers Lightning Collection!

*First up is the Power Rangers SPD A-Squad! The A-Squad Red, Yellow, Green & Pink Rangers are now set for release- completing the most advanced team in the Space Patrol Delta.
A-Squad Pink is a GameStop exclusive while A-Squad Green will be exclusive to Best Buy.

Next were two VS Packs-

*Mighty Morphin Yellow Ranger VS Scorpina! This new figure will be the iconic villainess’ first official piece of merchandise!
*In Space Blue Ranger VS Psycho Silver! Now the Psycho Rangers will be complete!

And one upcoming reveal was mentioned without a specific release date: Power Rangers In Space Andros! The survivor of KO-35 will have a special release with his signature cloak and a stealth version of the In Space Ranger helmet.

Finally, the stream ended with a brief teaser item for an upcoming release: the Turbo Navigator from Power Rangers Turbo! Which Turbo Ranger will be first to join the Lightning Collection lineup? Only time will tell! Stay tuned to TokuNation for further Lighting Collection reveals/

Netflix has announced an exciting new project for Ultraman fans!

A new CGI feature is in development for the streaming platform, written and directed by animation veteran Shannon Tindle.

A brief plot synopsis has already been released:


“Baseball superstar Ken Sato returns to his home country of Japan to pick up the mantle of Earth-defending superhero Ultraman, but quickly finds more than he bargained for when he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe, a newborn Kaiju. Struggling to balance the roles of teammate and new father, Ken must confront his own ego, his estranged father, and the conniving Kaiju Defense Force to rise up and discover what it truly means to be Ultraman.”

IT’S MORPHIN TIME!

Three new and exciting listings for Hasbro’s fan-favorite Lightning Collection line have been spotted thanks to files located in the Wave Management pdf file.

Those new listings are as follows:

  • F2973- PRG BLT A SQD MERCURY
    F2975- PRG BLT A SQD NEPTUNE
    F2274-PRG LC MMPR HELMET

In addition, new barcodes hint that the previously rumored TMNT Crossover figures maybe inbound for an August 1st release, though nothing official has been confirmed as of this writing.

A unique new Kamen Rider series has been announced by the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club streaming service!

Kamen Rider Saber will be meeting Kamen Rider Ghost for a special new cinematic adventure. As this crossover unfolds, Kamen Rider Saber will receive a unique new form based on Kamen Rider Ghosts’ EyeCon powers.

We have sadly lost an important figure from Kamen Rider history.

Legendary composer Shunsuke Kikuchi who handled the very first Kamen Rider theme song- Let’s Go! Rider Kick– and many other Rider themes throughout the Showa Era has passed away at 89 years old.

Outside the tokusatsu world, Kinkuchi was a prolific artist- working on several anime themes including DragonBall, Doraemon, Getter Robo and countless others.

Our thoughts are with Shunsuke Kikuchis’ friends and family in this difficult time.

Toei has revealed two new Rider forms for the upcoming Kamen Rider Zero-One film, Kamen Rider Zero-One Others: Kamen Rider Vulcan & Kamen Rider Valkyrie!

This new film takes place after the previous Kamen Rider Zero-One film, with Isamu Fuwa & Yua Yaiba returning to face the final threat of Metsobujinrai.Net.

Kamen Rider Vulcan will abandon the ShotRiser Driver and take up the Zero-One Driver with a new Zetsumerize Key– the Dire Wolf– to become Kamen Rider Vulcan LoneWolf!

Meanwhile, Kamen Rider Valkyrie gains the Serval Tiger Key and activates her new form, Kamen Rider Valkyrie Justice Serval!

Zero-One Others: Vulcan & Valkyrie is currently scheduled for release on November 10 2021.

Some new images for the next wave of Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger toys have surfaced online! This is our first look at the DX Mecha belonging to the Zenkaigers’ Sixth Ranger, TwoKaiser!

TwoKaisers’ main Mecha is the battleship Croco DaiOh! This is a golden battleship modeled after a crocodile. Croco DaiOh is capable of several configurations.

To aid in combat, TwoKaiser summons a pair of miniature robots- know as TwoKai Rikky (who embodies the spirit of Chouriki Sentai OhRanger) and TwoKai Cuttaner (which channels the powers of Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.)

Both Ricky & Cuttanner can combine with Croco DaiOh to create the Mecha Combo TwoKaiOh! This Mecha has multiple configurations based on which robo is used- the primary forms are TwoKaiOh Rikky and TwoKaiOh Cuttaner!
