Rumor – Samuell Benta, Operation Overdrive Black Ranger, cameos in Super Megaforce?

Posted on May 1, 2013 at 12:13 am by Chris under Power Rangers

There’s bound to be some contraversy on this one. Samuell Benta, who played the Black Ranger known as Will in Power Rangers Operation Overdrive left a mysterious tweet the other day that has many believing he’s been contacted to return for a cameo in Power Rangers Super Megaforce. The tweet is as follows:

Hmmmmm a certain show has requested that i come back…. What could it be….

Now, to the contraversy surrounding Samuell Benta and why so many, including myself, wish he’d stay as far away from Power Rangers as possible.

The first Power Morphicon was a huge success, hence why it’s returned every other year since then. The entire cast of Power Rangers Operation Overdrive was in attendance. There were four official banners that all the guests signed and were going to be auctioned off on eBay with the earnings donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Samuell Benta (allegedly) took one of the banners and, on his own without the assistance of staff, went about getting signatures from all the guests. Upon the closing ceremonies of Power Morphicon, the organizers asked Benta for the banner – Benta refused to return the banner, stating he was going to keep it for himself as a souvenir from the convention. That’s right – he willingly chose to keep a banner meant to be auctioned off for sick and dying children. He admitted that he had it, that he took it, and that he was keeping it. He knew that it was going to be auctioned off for charity but still chose to keep it for his own personal collection.

So Power Rangers fans, do you want Samuell Benta to return for the anniversary season of Power Rangers Super Megaforce? Let us know!

UPDATE 02/26/2020
Samuell Benta has released a YouTube video stating that he never took a banner meant for children – that in fact he set it down and a fan must have taken it.

Confirmed – Najee De-Tiege, Samurai Blue Ranger, Returning for Super Megaforce

Posted on April 30, 2013 at 11:48 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

We have our first official confirmation!

Najee De-Tiege, the actor who played Kevin the Blue Ranger in both Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Super Samurai tweeted today that he is returning for a “few episodes” in Power Rangers Super Megaforce, the 20th Anniversary celebration season of Power Rangers. The tweet reads as follows:

Its a Official Saban Brands Contacted me & my Cast to come back 2 NewZealand, & Film Some Power Rangers Episodes!..

The tweet specifically states “me and my cast”, which in this writer’s opinion means that the base cast of Power Rangers Samurai has been contacted to return for some episodes of Super Megaforce (base cast meaning no Gold Ranger, no female Red Ranger). I could be wrong, though Steven Skyler, who played Antonio the Gold Ranger in Power Rangers Samurai recently spoke to convention attendees and mentioned he had heard nothing about Megaforce.

What are your feelings about Kevin and possibly the other Power Rangers Samurai returning for Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Thanks to Mr. Yellow for the heads up!

Rumor – Christopher Khayman Lee, Andros of In Space, to Cameo in Super Megaforce?

Posted on April 30, 2013 at 12:14 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Okay, I admit to this one being a stretch, but the picture makes you think. We know from our friends via RangerCrew.com that the casting department of Power Rangers has reached out to a number of veteran actors and actresses from the “Saban-era” of Power Rangers (Mighty Morphin, Zeo, Turbo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Wild Force). We know that Blake Foster, who played Justin Stewart the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Turbo was getting in shape for something, then flew off to New Zealand.

So here’s a picture of Christopher Khaymen Lee. You know him best as Andros, the Red Ranger in Power Rangers In Space. So what’s the big deal? Well, Lee is one of the more recluse former Ranger actors, and only recently was on an episode of the No Pink Spandex Power Rangers podcast. He wasn’t forthcoming on whether or not he had been contacted for Super Megaforce, but seemed open to coming back for an episode or two.

So then this picture shows up. Christopher Khaymen Lee holding a In Space Red Ranger card, and seemingly in very fit shape. Oh, and with long hair to boot. Does this mean he’s hinting that he’s coming back? Do you want to see Andros make a return in Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Power Rangers Super Megaforce Set Images Reveal Gokai Galleon!

Posted on April 29, 2013 at 11:43 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

One of the more burning questions regarding the upcoming Power Rangers Super Megaforce season was how exactly they were going to incorporate the Gokai Galleon, which served as both the base of operations for the Gokaigers as well as their main Megazord, the GokaiOh Megazord.

Thanks to MrYellow via Instagram, the picture attached to this news article shows that the crew in New Zealand has reconstructed some of the pieces of the exterior of the Gokai Galleon for footage purposes. Does this mean that our heroes will be soaring above the city in the Gokai Galleon?

What do you think? How should Saban incorporate the Gokai Galleon in to Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Special thanks to raz for the heads up!

Rumor – Roger Velasco, In Space Black Ranger, to Appear in Super Megaforce?

Posted on April 27, 2013 at 2:58 am by Chris under Power Rangers

More rumors for Power Rangers Super Megaforce!

Roger Velasco, who played Carlos the second Green Turbo Ranger and the Black In Space Ranger posted on Facebook a few days ago the following statement:

“Black is back! It’s where its @…”

As we’ve stated previously, he played the role of Carlos the Black Ranger from Power Rangers In Space. With our friends at RangerCrew.com stating that most of the Saban-era (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers thru Power Rangers Wild Force) cast had been contacted about their availability, does this mean that we’re going to get the return of Carlos for a Power Rangers In Space tribute?

What do you guys think? Do you want to see Carlos return for Power Rangers Super Megaforce? Voice up your thoughts!

Jason David Frank – Power Rangers Megaforce, My Morphin Life Documentary, and more!

Posted on April 27, 2013 at 1:29 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Jason David Frank, or as you may remember him better, Tommy Oliver the Mighty Morphin Green and White Ranger, the Red Zeo Ranger, the Red Turbo Ranger, and the Dino Thunder Black Ranger – is in attendance at this year’s Chicago ComicCon and IGN was in attendance to record anything and everything Frank had to say.

When asked about returning for Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Jason David Frank said the following:

“I would do it for $1. I do it for you guys, I don’t care about the money.”

When pressed on whether or not he was doing it or not, Frank said that the Green Ranger would be in the show in costume, but couldn’t say whether or not he himself would be in the show.

Jason David Frank also added a few more tidbits – he’s spent a year filming a documentary titled My Morphin’ Life. There’s also plans for a 20th Anniversary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers celebration, and that more details would be revealed soon, but that it celebrates the original show.

Do you want Jason David Frank to return as Dr. Tommy Oliver in Power Rangers Super Megaforce? And what are your thoughts about his upcoming documentary, or the planned celebration for the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers? Share your thoughts with us!

Confirmed – Cameron Jebo IS the Megaforce Silver Ranger!

Posted on April 26, 2013 at 1:14 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Awhile back we had shared the news from our friends over at RangerCrew.com that had cited credible anonymous sources that Cameron Jebo would play the part of the Megaforce Silver Ranger, though Cameron Jebo would later deny it.

That, my friends, is the power of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). It makes liars out of people. Nightmere10 from RangerCrew.com’s forums found two pictures of filming from Power Rangers Super Megaforce – one that includes a behind-shot of Cameron Jebo with Christina Masterson (Emma, Pink Ranger). The other has his headshot, along with that of Christina Masterson (Emma, Pink Ranger) in an office. We’ve mirrored those pictures here in this news story.

We’ve already seen Gokai Silver/Megaforce Silver in-suit and in-action on set, and now we have picture-proof of our actor (true, he’s not in spandex, but come on, he’s wearing gray!).

Rumor – Austin St. John to Appear in Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Posted on April 26, 2013 at 1:07 am by Chris under Power Rangers

Let’s keep the rumor-train rolling!

Recently, our good friends at RangerCrew.com posted on their Facebook account that the casting department for Power Rangers was looking for Austin St. John, or as his real name is, Jason Geiger. Is this because they want him to reprise the role of Jason Scott, the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger and Zeo Gold Ranger?

Can you even HAVE an anniversary celebration season without the original Red Ranger? What do you guys think? Share your thoughts and, if you have any intimiate details of his location, let our friends at RangerCrew.com know so they can pass word along!

Rumor – Blake Foster, Blue Turbo Ranger, to Appear in Super Megaforce?

Posted on April 26, 2013 at 12:58 am by Chris under Power Rangers

With Power Rangers Megaforce currently on an airing hiatus, we’ve decided to throw up some of the rumors as they gain credibility regarding the anniversary portion of the Power Rangers Megaforce show, the second season known as Power Rangers Super Megaforce!

Blake Foster, the only child Power Ranger to ever wear spandex as the Blue Turbo Power Ranger, tweeted back on April 21st that he was headed to New Zealand. Why is that worth mentioning? Power Rangers is filmed in New Zealand. To add to the speculation, the hashtags #justinstewart (the name of his character from Power Rangers Turbo), #spandexshape (the suits are spandex or spandex-ish), and #bluecrew (he played the Blue Ranger), were included in his tweet.

What do you guys think? Would it be cool to see Justin Stewart, the Blue Turbo Power Ranger, all grown-up as a cameo appearance in Power Rangers Super Megaforce?

Samurai Red Ranger To Appear on Super Mega Force?

Posted on April 25, 2013 at 3:10 pm by Kiryu under Power Rangers

Another photo from the Power Rangers: Super Megaforce set has been posted up on Ranger Crew

This time Alex Heartman AKA Jayden from Power Rangers Samurai was spotted on the set.

Previous photos have confirmed that the Wild Force Black Ranger was on set, but whether or not Jayden himself will appear as a Guest ranger remains to be seen.
