S.H. Figuarts Kikaider Gallery

Posted on November 14, 2014 at 3:55 pm by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

Switch on!

TokuNation returns with a brand new photo gallery of one of the most classic tokusatsu heroes out there, S.H. Figuarts Kikaider! Recently released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive Kiakider is the titular hero of Jinzo Ningen Kikaider (Android Kikaider) from 1972. Created by the late Shotaro Ishinimori, Kikaider was his first live action Tokusatsu hero since Kamen Rider. And in a legacy that includes Kamen Rider & Himitsu Sentai Goranger, some of the lesser known heroes like Kikaider might be looked over from time to time. But Tamashii Nations has stepped up to the plate to deliver this figure.

Based on his TV appearance, S.H. Figuarts Kikaider captures the intricate detail and robotic nature of the on screen character. Though it lacks a bit in the accessory department the figure has some personality to it that classic toku fans will latch onto. With the recently released Hakaider and the upcoming Kikaider 01 as well, the Kikader family is slowly growing in the S.H. Figuarts line. Check out our full gallery of this awesome figure after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post.

Kamen Rider Drive DX Tridoron Gallery & Video Review!

Posted on November 5, 2014 at 3:04 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Start your engine!

Baltmatrix and I have teamed up once again to deliver a 1-2 punch of toku reviews! This time we’re taking a look at the DX Tridoron from Kamen Rider Drive!

To start we’ve assembled a full 50+ image gallery of DX Tridoron for your viewing after the jump. This excellent vehicle is big, functional, and did we mention BIG? As one of the larger DX rider vehicles ever made it will make your collection of rider bikes feel inadequate. Tridoron also has the ability to transform into it’s 3 basic Types like Drive; Speed, Wild, & Technique. That in addition to it’s Tire Koukan compatibility, it’s functionality with shift cars, and the fact that it can accommodate 6″ figures in it’s cockpit all make the DX  Tridoron worth a purchase in my book. And don’t forget the included Midnight Shadow Shift Car & Tire as well as the pre-order bonus Max Flare Full Throttle Version Shift Car!

And now take a look below for a full video review of this wonderful toy by my good friend Baltmatrix! On loan from my personal collection to Balt, I hope you enjoy his in depth look at DX Tridoron! This video review will showcase the transformations of Tridoron in practice as well as the way the in which it’s electronic gimmicks function & it’s compatibility with Tire Koukan tires & figures!

We’ll be back in the near future with yet more tag team gallery/video reviews from your favorite toku heroes old & new! But for now, All you need is Drive!

Tire Koukan TK-02 Tire Set Gallery & Video Review

Posted on November 3, 2014 at 10:53 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Tire Koukan!

Before the upcoming Kamen Rider Drive products for November are released we’ve got a pair of galleries and video reviews of current releases for you! Today we take a look at at the second release in Drive’s gimmick line, Tire Koukan, with the TK-02 Tire Set!

An accessory set for TK-01 Drive, TK-02 features three of Kamen Rider Drive’s recently used Tires. Funky Spike, Justice Hunter, & Massive Monster! A great addition to the line each of these new tires adds a little something extra to the basic Drive figure. And if you also have the recently released DX Tridoron you get a bit more play value from each as well thanks to it’s incorporation of the gimmick.

Before you check out my image gallery, look bellow to watch my good friend Baltmatrix’s video review of this set! He and I will be back in a couple days with a DX Tridoron review and gallery as well!

Check out 40 images of this accessory set after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation” forums at the bottom of this post.

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Jimber Arms Gallery

Posted on November 2, 2014 at 1:00 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Mix! Jimber Lemon/Melon/Cherry/Peach!

Following up on an excellent Zangetsu Shin Gallery by our fearless leader Kickback, it’s time for another dose of fruit rider action! Next up is S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Jimber Arms!

Kamen Rider Gaim’s first true upgraded form, Jimber Arms is a unique beast. Incorporating Gaim’s standard orange Lock Seed and an additional Energy Lock of choice gives him access to abilities in 4 unique forms. Jimber Lemon is the standard and the most often seen version of this power up. The Figuart actually includes all the alternate locks and breast plates you need to display him in Jimber Peach, Jimber Cherry, and even the never seen in show Jimber Melon! Also included are several pairs of hands and two versions of this forms trademark weapon (the weapon of choice for the Energy Riders as well) the Sonic Arrow!

Needless to say but Kamen Rider Gaim Jimber Arms is a welcome addition to a growing collection of excellent figures. Be sure to click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to check out 50 images of this fantastic figure! We’ll back soon with yet another Gaim related gallery, S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Baron!

Posted on October 31, 2014 at 11:26 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

Who likes soda? Who are we kidding – we’re a collective fan community made up of people who watch subtitled tokusatsu shows online and enjoy (and at times cringe through) Power Rangers – OF COURSE WE LIKE SODA! And if you don’t, you might want to make an exception for this soda – our gallery and review of S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zangetsu Shin – Melon Energy Arms!

This “powered-up” or “final” form of the Kamen Rider Zangetsu character was the first of many (and we mean many) Tamashii Web Exclusives for the S.H. Figuarts line of figures from Kamen Rider Gaim and as you can tell by the pictures – it doesn’t disappoint!

Check out over 40 pictures as well as our review for S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Zangetsu Shin – Melon Energy Arms by clicking here! Sound off in the discussion thread – did you get this figure? What are your thoughts? And if not, are you planning to pick it up when you can?

Celebrate Titanium Ranger Day 2014!

Posted on October 28, 2014 at 12:58 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

That time of year has rolled around once again! It’s the second annual Titanium Ranger Day! October 28th 2013 started it all when our good friend Fury Diamond of Rangercrew got together with Bandai Cards to help promote the Titanium Ranger with the official reveal of his Power Rangers ACG Card and a live chat with his actor Rhett Fisher!

What began as a simple day of appreciation for the character has grown to be much more than that. Not only did Titanium Ranger make his way into the ACG with his own card, but he was 1 of the final 5 rangers selected in the Morphin Madness competition,  he was recently featured in an exclusive Power Morphicon 2014 Ranger Key Pack, had a 5″ Super Megaforce Legendary Ranger figure produced of him, AND made it into the finale of Power Ranger Super Megaforce with the returning Legendary Rangers!

As the first ranger ever to be solely featured in Power Rangers (Lightspeed Rescue) with no sentai counterpart for his basis, Titanium Ranger is one of the most unique creations in the entire Power Rangers franchise. Appreciation for the Titanium Ranger & the actor who portrayed him, Rhett Fisher, has been on the rise for years now and it can’t be any coincidence that the character has gotten so much love this year alone at the height of the Power Rangers recent 25th anniversary. And we here at TokuNation are proud to celebrate another Titanium Ranger Day!

Feel free to click “discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to join our Titanium Ranger Day discussion thread. And while you’re at it follow the handy links below to check out a hefty selection of Titanium Ranger photo galleries we’ve posted this year.

Arms Change Premium Kamen Rider Sigurd & Marika Gallery/Video Review

Posted on October 24, 2014 at 11:34 am by Den-O under Kamen Rider

Soda!

Once again it’s time for TokuNation to bring you a double whammy! Today we’ve got a gallery of the 3rd of Premium Bandai’s Arms Change releases! ACPB03 is a two-pack which includes Kamen Rider Sigurd & Kamen Rider Marika!

Rounding out the full team of Energy Riders, Sigurd & Marika are top notch releases. Each of their new arms, Cherry Energy & Peach Energy, are engineered perfectly, and as Premium releases they’ve both been given lavish paint jobs to really set them apart from retail AC’s. If you’re as deep into this toyline by now as I am then it’s been nothing but rewarding with each successive release. Each time a new figure comes out it’s always fun to see how previous Arms will look on them as well. And this gallery contains images of Sigurd & Marika in every Arms released thus far!

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to be taken to a FULL gallery of these figures. Over 100 images! But before you do that check out the video review posted below. Our resident video wizard Baltmatrix has been hard at work and has a full review of this pair for you to check out! Are we of like minds on this premium release set? Watch his video to find out!

Baltmatrix and I will also be teaming up in the coming weeks for a few other galleries/videos relating to Kamen Rider Drive, so stay tuned!

S.H. Figuarts Akaranger Gallery

Posted on October 21, 2014 at 2:01 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Go!

TokuNation has at long last made it’s way back to the first Sentai. Well, the show that retroactively is known as the first. Himitsu Sentai Goranger! Though it was nearly 20 years after it’s debut that this series gained it’s Super Sentai status it’s unquestionable that the series began a long tradition of colorful spandex heroes helping some big eyed bug men save Japan. So it’s about time that Bandai got around to making S.H. Figuarts Akaranger!

What better way to celebrate this legend than with a gorgeous sculpt, paint job and wealth of accessories? S.H. Figuarts Akaranger is no slouch! He includes several sets of new hands, two versions of his iconic Red Bute rope weapon, the Silver Shot pistol, the Birdie flying rockets, and even a version of the Goranger Storm Ball! Though this figure is a bit on the large side it’s still a fantastic addition to any sentai collector’s display.

Check out our full gallery of S.H. Figuarts Akaranger after the jump by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post.

Note that although the name on the box is spelled Akarenger, (official romanization) generally his name in English is accepted to be Akaranger, and Toei’s subsequent use of the actual word “Ranger” in many series and hero names would imply that should be the correct term in this instance. So for consistency we went with that.
