Power Rangers Wild Force Dx Growl Phone Gallery

Posted on November 26, 2013 at 8:06 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Tokunation.com continues it’s month long tribute to Power Rangers Wild Force with a gallery of the personal morpher of the five core Wild Force Rangers, the Growl Phone!

Produced by Bandai of America for the Wild Force toy line, the Growl Phone is a neutered version of the G-Phone from Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger. The Growl Phone is able to transform into a representation of the Lion Wild Zord but lacks the additional accessories and moving parts to transform into the other four main Wild Zords.

All buttons on the morpher’s keypad can be pressed but all make the same sound. Pressing the lion button activates a second sound and causes two green lights on the phone’s ‘screen’ to flash.

Gaoranger DX Gaolleries 13 of 15 Black Gao King

Posted on November 25, 2013 at 12:38 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

You know the drill by now right? Well of course! It’s Power Rangers Wild Force month at Tokunation! And as we begin to round out our little series of “Gaolleries” we take a look at a very special release from Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger!

DX Black Gao King is a special repaint of the standard Gao King set done up in, you guessed it, black/silver, packed in a black/white version of the normal Gao King box. The set has a nice sleek uniform color scheme that’s very pleasing to the eye. Though if you already have a normal Gao King this may not be a set you’d want to double up with. The Black Gao Elephant released with the TRU Gao Knight set is also a perfect addition to this set allowing you to make a full on Black Gao King Sword & Shield!

Of course this set is part of a long long tradition of black repaints not only for sentai, but for mecha shows in general. The first black edition sentai robo being the Black Daizyujin later altered for release in the US as the Black MMPR Megazord.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce Legendary Megazord Gallery!

Posted on November 24, 2013 at 1:42 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

The toyline for Power Rangers Super Megaforce is just starting to trickle out to retail at Toys R Us, and luckily we’ve found a Deluxe Legendary Megazord to share! This complete gallery will show off the entire Legendary Megazord set and compare it to the DX Gokai Oh from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger it’s based on!

Though the Bandai of America release has opted to remove a few features, there are just as many added. Gone are the opening compartments which allow additional zords/vehicles to combine with the Megazord. Instead are strategically placed Zord Builder Pegs which open up a ton of possible combinations. In total, including the standard arm and leg pegs the Legendary Megazord has 16! And of course being a BOA Megazord which features these universal Pegs you can mix and match to your hearts content! Seen here we’ve swapped the zords around with the Legacy Megazord for a couple fun combos.

Rather than removing the dial gimmick on the Megazords’ back it’s been adapted to take US Ranger Keys. When turned to the right the keys “drop the plank” on the Megazords chest, opening it. The “plank” is also capable of sliding into the lower abdomen rather than sticking out as it did on the Gokai Oh. The Yellow zord has also been modified to have a connected cab where the BOJ version did not. The flip side of this is that it loses the side to side turning that the BOJ version featured. And Aside from the loss of compartments the other vehicles retain the majority of their functionality at an affordably smaller size! The set also includes a translucent red Super Megaforce Red Ranger Key to activate the dial gimmick, seen here compared to a BOJ Aka Red key.

Click here or “Discuss” to see all 55 images of our gallery!

Be sure to visit your local TRU’s in the coming weeks to find this Megazord and the rest of the first wave of Super Megaforce products. TRU’s are beginning to receive the pallets containing these figures, but not all of them will show up in their system properly. It’s best to use the pallet item code #043789 and have an employee check .

Gaoranger DX Gaolleries 12 of 15 Gao Kong/Gao Knight

Posted on November 22, 2013 at 7:05 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Tokunation’s month long celebration of Power Rangers Wild Forceis about to come to a close! With only a few galleries left today we take a look at the Toys R Us Japan exclusive DX Gao Knight set from Hyakuju Sentai Gaoranger!

At the heart of Gao Knight is a Power Animal exclusive to the Gaoranger film, The Fire Mountain Roars, Gao Kong! Kong is a repaint and slight remold of Gao Gorilla with a new combined mode face plate. The same accessories are included however down to the Anchor Chain and Gao Jewel figure, though the Gorilla or Kong rather is cast in Gold now.

You may ask what makes the TRU set so exclusive? Well a proper Gao Knight requires the standard blue Gao Elephant. This one is special because it includes a Black Gao Elehpant for use with the separately released Black Gao King. This is an exquisite set that shows just how far some extra paint apps and a remold can go. Kong itself was released individually before this set, hence the added bonus of this set including Black Gao Elephant.

NECA Pacific Rim Series 2 Leatherback Gallery

Posted on November 20, 2013 at 8:05 pm by Chris under General Tokusatsu News

In Pacific Rim, the Kaiju Leatherback is a massive category IV sized creature that wreaks havoc on the heroic Jaegers and the whole of Hong Kong.

The designers at NECA accurately capture the look and bulk of Leatherback with the figure released in Series 2 of their Pacific Rim line.

The figure stands at approximately 8 inches with it’s ‘hunched’ posture and has a surprising 24 points of articulation. This includes individually moving claws, ankles, and a hinged jaw. Leatherback weighs in at a ridiculous 1 pound, 6.5 ounces, over 3 times the weight of Gipsy Danger. Despite the weight and size of each arm, they can still be posed in a variety of ways (given your figure has tight joints).

Armored Might Mighty Morphin Power Rangers White Ranger Gallery

Posted on November 10, 2013 at 3:36 pm by Chris under Power Rangers, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates

Our photo staff is at it again, this time a new gallery coming from photo and content staffer conundrum!

The ‘Armored Might’ subline of Bandai of America’s Power Rangers toy line continues with two new releases for Fall 2013, including a Power Rangers 20 figure, the White Mighty Morphin’ Ranger.

The White Ranger stands at approximately 7 inches tall and has a fairly impressive 29 points of articulation. The figure features removable chest armor, gauntlets, arm bands, and boot cuffs. It also includes two pairs of interchangeable hands and a well sculpted Saba sword. White Ranger shares the same body sculpt as the previously released Mighty Morphin’ Red Ranger and is able to wear/wield its accessories.

While this Armored Might White Ranger figure is no S.H. Figuarts Kiba Ranger, it’s still a very solid figure.
