Last night was the official Toei press conference for the newest Kamen Rider hero, so we now have a plethora of new information on the adventures of Kamen Rider Saber!

The series will be directed by longtime Kamen Rider veteran Takayuki Shibasaki while the main writer this time around is Takuro Fukuda– previously known for Kamen Rider Ghost.

A brief story outline was included in the conference: Kamen Rider Saber features a world based on fairy tales & fantasy adventures colliding with our own, centered over conflict with The Book– a legendary artifact that contains unparalleled powers and secrets. In ancient times, a sinister group known as Megiddo came forth to take The Book for themselves- as a result of the conflict, chapters of The Book were scattered across the world (becoming the WonderRide Books seen in toy listings). A collection of heroes known as the Sword Of Logos unites to fight the evildoers and reclaim The Book. The battles between both groups will throw the world into chaos- with people and places vanishing between worlds.

*Kamen Rider Saber’s true name is Touma Kamiyama (played by new actor Shuichiro Naito), a novelist and owner of the Fantastic Kamiyama Bookstore. An encounter with the Sword Of Fire Rekka grants him the power of Kamen Rider Saber.

This will be another year with multiple Riders- with a total of FIVE in the main cast from the start! According to comments from the writing team at the conference, the total number of Kamen Riders in this series may be over TEN.

*Secondary Rider is the hero Kamen Rider Blades (not “Blaze” as previously translated) also known as Rintaro Shindo (played by Takaya Yamaguchi)- he wields the Sword of Water Nagare and is very dedicated to rules and order.

*Third in the lineup is Kamen Rider Espada! This Rider features white and yellow armor; his signature element is lightning powered by the Sword of Lightning Ikazuchi. Espada’s real name is Kento Fukamiya (portrayed by Ryo Aoki); he and Saber are childhood friends.

*The fourth Rider is Kamen Rider Kenzan! Kenzan is a green Rider who uses the Sword of Wind Hayate for powerful cyclone attacks. Kenzans’ civilian identity is Ren Akamichi (played by Eiji Togashi); he is described as a man with high self-esteem who views Saber as a rival.

*Finally, the fifth Rider is Kamen Rider Caliber! This is the only Rider whose real face & identity remain unrevealed; Caliber is a traitor to the Sword of Logos and now works with Megiddo to gain the power of The Book for himself. Caliber works alongside the Megiddo enforcer Storius– creator of the Alter Book that he plans to use to rewrite history.

The Sword of Logos was founded by Sophia– played by Rina Chinen an ancient mystic who seeks to restore the balance of the worlds. Sophia has an aide named Tetsuo (portrayed by actor Hiroasa Naka who helps maintain the weapons and vehicles for Kamen Riders.

Kamen Rider Saber’s opening theme will be performed by the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra along with another musical guest who remains unrevealed at time of writing. The series will also feature an ENDING theme, something absent from Kamen Rider since Hibiki.

Some new high quality images have been released giving us our best look yet at the newest Kamen Rider hero- Kamen Rider Saber!

Kamen Rider Saber draws power from the Seiken SworDriver and the strange artifacts known as WonderRide Books.

There are 3 type of WonderRide Books-

*Divine Creature
*Sacred Animal
*Fairy Tale

Sabers’ signature Book is the Divine Creature Brave Dragon which grants powerful fire attacks.

Kamen Rider Saber has 2 more WonderRide Books in his arsenal:

*Peter Fantasia transforms Saber into Kamen Rider Saber Dragon Peter
*Jack & The Beanstalk unlocks the Kamen Rider Saber Dragon Jackun form.

And Saber will not be fighting alone! A second Rider has been officially confirmed in these early scans- Kamen Rider Blaze! Blaze uses the Sacred Animal Lion Senki WonderRide Book to transform; his forms have a Water element in contrast to Sabers’ fire.

Finally, 3 WonderRide Books based on Sabers’ predecessor Kamen Rider Zero-One are included in the scans! These Books are the Hidden Story Of Hidden, A.I.M.S. Animal File & Metsuboujinrai Monsters.

Kamen Rider Saber officially begins September 6 2020!

After some early teasers and a lot of speculation, we have our first look at the second Kamen Rider of the Reiwa Era– Kamen Rider Saber!

Kamen Rider Saber transforms using the Seiken SworDriver– which is also his primary weapon.

Sabers’ powers come from WonderRide Books which offer new powers or transformations when used in the Driver. Kamen Rider Sabers’ signature Book is Brave Dragon. Two other WonderRides are shown for Saber- Peter Fantasista and Jack & The Beanstalk.

A SECOND Rider is also teased- this character is known as Kamen Rider Blaze! Blaze transforms using the Lion Chronicles WonderRide Book.

Another new entry in the Power Rangers Lightning Collection has just been shown!

First listed in a leaked Amazon listing some time back, this new figure is Lord Drakkon EVO III– the final form of the iconic BOOM! Studios villain in his black and gold armor.

This new version of Lord Drakkon comes with the saber Saba and an assortment of Ranger helmet trophies held in his lightning effects.

Power Rangers Lightning Collection Lord DRakkon EVO III will be a Hasbro Pulse exclusive release, currently scheduled for September 2020! The price is a modest $49.99 USD.

A surprising new entry for the Power Rangers Lightning Collection has just turned up in stores!

Ranger fan MCUcollector24 found a Lightning Collection Power Rangers Dino Charge Black Ranger at a Target store in North Carolina.

This figure was not revealed in any previous listings, and may be part of the Lightning Collections’ sixth wave- whose full count remains unconfirmed at time of writing.

A week ago we celebrated Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Forever being officially released and subtitled in North America.  Because of your response to the sale that Bluefin Brands and Team Kamen Rider did on their merchandise we are pleased to share with you that three new official Kamen Rider shirts are available to order via Amazon.com!

As with the previous releases these shirts are available in a variety of colors and in USA sizing.  As a personal owner of the previous shirts the quality is fantastic – I recommend going one size larger just because they are a bit snug.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but we may have the first toy listings for the next Kamen Rider series- Kamen Rider SABER!

The listings offer a treasure trove of potential new information for this upcoming series. Details of note include-

*Multiple Riders once again! The listings indicate a possible total of SEVEN Riders, with the first 3 using one type of henshin device while the next group have a different belt & Driver setup.

*The collector gimmick for this series appears to be Crests– which have different elemental abilities.

*The Riders apparently draw powers using a fusion of animals and elements- the Rider #1 listing (presumably Saber himself) comes with Dragon/Fire crests while the second rider has Lion/Water as a set.

*Strangely, the series also appears to make reference to classic literature and fairy tales- with the toy listings including references to Peter Pan, Aladdin, Three Little Pigs & Journey To The West.

If all these items are true, Kamen Rider Saber could be a very unique series! However, keep in mind at this stage all details are subject to change & remain pending official confirmation.

Premium Bandai’s 2020 Exclusives are live for pre-order now.  The would be SDCC kick off next week has shifted online.  Among the Tamashii Nations exclusives which are heavily DragonBall related, S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla is getting an Event Exclusive Color edition.  The folks at Bandai were kind enough to send along an early copy, so we’ve run it for some base shots to show what it can do in hand.

FORCE FROM THE FUTURE! 

 

We first caught wind of this set a few months prior thanks to solicitations that appeared via Amazon France, but we now have our first official look at this brand new Lighting Collection figure thanks to some photos that were just put up proper on the US Amazon website, with Lightning Collection S.P.D Omega Ranger & Uniforce Cycle having recently been found as an Amazon retailer exclusive.

Currently, the price and release date for this set aren’t known, and the set isn’t available for purchase or pre-order yet as of this writing but none of the less, you can bookmark the link for this upcoming product here and we’ll be sure to keep you updated once more info is available.

For as long as Fuwa Isamu could remember, his past was ruined by the berserk Humagears of Daybreak Town. Holding a grudge against them all because of this, Fuwa dedicated himself to their total destruction as a member of A.I.M.S. However, this was all a plot by president Gai Amatsu of ZAIA, to drive Fuwa to hate Humagears even more as he became a Kamen Rider. But with the knowledge of his true past revealed, and both he and Naki free of ZAIA’s control, Fuwa is ready to continue fighting free of the anger that drove him. Instead Fuwa will help defend Humagears with Aruto Hiden & Izu. He will realize his own dream, to truly be Kamen Rider Vulcan!

S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Vulcan is the second release in the Zero-One subline and so far these releases are shaping up very very nicely. Like Zero-One, Vulcan is an articulation dream, capable of striking poses in natural and appropriately exaggerated fashion. While he doesn’t have the same kind of fun black light gimmick as Aruto, Fuwa makes up for that with a wealth of accessories. Like his waist mounted (and functional!) Shot Riser, the 4 sets of hands, his own Attache Shotgun, and the Attache Calibur for Zero-One! This is an incredibly well rounded release.
