Superchange B-Robo Kabutack DX Set Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry

Posted on December 14, 2015 at 9:30 pm by Den-O under Contests and Giveaways, General Tokusatsu News, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

Superchange!

Toku Toy Box is back with yet another vintage gallery for your viewing pleasure! Today we take a look back at a classic entry in the Metal Heroes franchise circa 1997-1998 with B-Robo Kabutack! And the toy of it’s titular hero, the Superchange Kabutack DX Set!

An often overlooked series, B-Robo Kabutack was the spiritual successor to the long forgotten Toei Fushigi Comedy series. A franchise marked by fun loving almost child like robots and their human allies. Examples being shows like Batten Robomaru, Morimori Bokkun, & Robot 8-Chan. Kabutack sat itself apart with some fantastic production values, a plot that borrows more than a little bit from Dragonball, and an absolutely fantastic gimmick for it’s toyline; Superchange! This DX Superchange set includes the fully transformable Kabutack as well as his 2 armors Drillut & Zabut, each sporting 3 different combinations with Kabutack!

Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post in order to view the entire 100 image gallery as well as a full review of this set! We’ve also included a short synopsis of B-Robo Kabutack for those unfamiliar. And remember that this gallery qualifies you for entry in our Toku Toy Box Giveaway! That means all you have to do is post something relevant to the conversation and you’re entered for a chance to win! We’ll be back very soon with another gallery related to this one, in the form of Kabutack’s succesor. The final Metal Heroes series, Tetsuwan Tantei Robotack!

Godaikin Machineman & Machine Dolphin Gallery – Toku Toy Box Entry!

Posted on December 1, 2015 at 9:56 am by Den-O under General Tokusatsu News

We’re kicking off our annual Toku Toy Box giveaway with a vintage blast from the past! Released as a part of Bandai’s short lived American Godaikin toy line, today we take a look at the Machineman & Machine Dolphin set!

From the classic but often forgotten series Seiun Kamen Machineman, the Machine Dolphin vehicle can switch between 3 alternate modes. The standard Machine Dolphin supercar, Dolphin Jet, & the humanoid Dolphin Robo! Machineman himself can ride along in any of these modes as well! Machineman also comes packed with accessories like his Laser Saber & Throttle Gun, as well as his tiny sidekick Ball Boy! Both Machineman and this vehicle feature significant diecast content as well! A true classic the Machine Dolphin set reminds us of how creative and unique Toku Toys could once be.

If you have no experience with the Machineman series or character then have no fear! We’ve included a brief overview of both in the gallery below. Feel free to browse more than 50 images of the Godaikin Machineman & Machine Dolphin as well asa full review by clicking “Discuss on the The TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post!

Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Shinobimaru Gallery

Posted on August 29, 2015 at 9:36 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai

Wasshoi!

At long last TokuNation is fired up to present this latest gallery! A recent Bandai Premium release from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, today we take an extensive look at the Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Shinobimaru!

Chogokin Shinobimaru is Bandai Premium’s first entirely new figure for Ninninger, soon to be followed up by Rodeomaru & Chouzetsu Akaninger. More than a simple DX with metal parts like last years’ Chogokin ToQ Oh, Shinobimaru is an entirely new super articulated diecast infused action figure meant to replace the DX that came with Shurikenjin. While it may be lacking a bit in the accessories department (a small shoulder mounted Akaninger) it more than makes up for this with excellent articulation, strong QC, and just the perfect amount of metal to give this little guy some heft.

Make no mistake when we say extensive either, we’ve put together 70 images of Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Shinobimaru for your viewing pleasure! We’ve even included a comparison between Shinobimaru and the classic release Soul of Chogokin Battle Fever Robo, the predecessor to all modern Sentai Chogokins. Attached to this post are just a small selection of the images, to view them all click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post.

Super Sentai Artisan Chouzetsu Akaninger Officially Revealed

Posted on August 11, 2015 at 10:14 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

A few months ago when Artisan Rodeomaru went up for order via Premium Bandai, we were also given a tease of an Artisan release for Chouzetsu Akaninger. Not only do we now know this figure is a pack-in bonus with Artisan Rodeomaru, but we also have official images!

Artisan Chouzetsu Akaninger stands 65mm tall (about 2.5 inches) compared to Rodeo & Shinobimarus’ roughly 125 mm. So he’s quite tiny. But this fully articulated mini-figure serves as a high end replacement for your DX Akaninger included with Lion Ha Oh. The figure includes just 3 accessories as well. The Ninja Ichibantou, and what appear to be a couple of panels that currently serve an unknown purpose. Perhaps they facilitate his combination with Lion Ha Oh? We’ll keep you updated as more information on this diminutive new figure comes out!

The set of Rodeomaru & Chouzetsu Akaninger retails for 5994 yen and is currently set for a December release!

Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Shinken Oh at Tokyo Toy Show

Posted on June 18, 2015 at 11:06 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Bandai of Japan just teased this figure last night when reports of it being on display at the Tokyo Toy Show came in. While some small thumbnail sized images trickled in over night, this morning brings us multiple up close full size shots of the Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Shinken Oh!

This release follows in the footsteps of last years Artisan ToQ-Oh by replacing key elements of the design with metal/gokin parts. In this display prototype the metal parts are denoted as being unpainted silver. So the thighs, thigh guards, belt emblem, knee caps, sword, head crest, & fists are ALL metal parts!

Posted on May 8, 2015 at 1:35 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Continuing it’s still new line of high end releases, Premium Bandai have just revealed Super Sentai Artisan Rodeomaru!

In much the same fashion as Artisan Shinobimaru, and in fact revealed on Shinobimaru’s order page, Rodeomaru will be much more to his on screen counterpart, feature a greater degree of poseability, and premium paint apps. This full replacement for DX Rodeomaru will be able to combine to form DX Bison King as well.

Ordering information, pricing, & release date for Super Sentai Artisan Rodemaru have yet to be released but we’ll keep you up to date as more information becomes available! Yee-Haw!

Super Sentai Artisan Shinobimaru On Display

Posted on April 11, 2015 at 11:53 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Ahead of it’s July release, Premium Bandai has just shown off a display copy of their upcoming Super Sentai Artisan Shinobimaru!

This highly poseable recreation of Shinobimaru is a full on replacement for the standard DX toy that can take it’s place in the set of the combined Shurikenjin. Though it can’t replicate Shinobimaru’s arm mode it’s incredibly faithful robot mode and articulation has piqued the interest of many collectors.

Super Sentai Artisan Shinobimaru orders will remain open through May 8th, and it will retail for 5378 yen upon release!
