Premium Bandai Ranger Key EX Metal Heroes Edition Revealed!

Posted on November 5, 2015 at 6:46 pm by Den-O under Metal Heroes

Premium Bandai has been on a Ranger Key kick this year with announcements of sets like the Sentai Lost Legend & ToQger Rainbow keys. Today brings yet another awesome reveal with the introduction of the Ranger Key EX Metal Heroes Edition Set!

This incredible new set will contain the primary Metal Hero of every series fromg Uchuu Keiji Gavan up through Blue Swat! A premium set of Metal Hero key previously released in conjunction with Super Hero Taisen Z contains the other lead heroes absent from this set. The following are included:

-Gavan
-Sharivan
-Shaider
-Juspion
-Spielban
-Metalder
-Fire
-Solbraver
-Swat Sho
-Gavan Type G

Curiosuly that’s yet another set of Metal Hero keys where Toei has conveniently forgotten the final 2 series of the franchise. B-Robo Kabutack, which shared a crossover with both B-Fightes. And the follow-up to Kabutack, Tetsuwan Tantei Robotack. Perhaps those keys will be released eventually. For now the EX Metal Hero Key set will retail for 13,500 yen and be released in February!

Celebrate Titanium Ranger Day 2015

Posted on October 28, 2015 at 12:23 pm by Den-O under Power Rangers

That time of year has rolled around once more! It’s the third annual Titanium Ranger Day! October 28th 2013 started it all when our colleagues at Rangercrew got together with Bandai Cards to help promote the Titanium Ranger with the official reveal of his Power Rangers ACG Card and a live chat with his actor Rhett Fisher!

What began as a simple day of appreciation for the character has grown to be much more than that. Not only did Titanium Ranger make his way into the ACG that year, but he was 1 of the final 5 rangers selected in Morphin Madness,  became part of the exclusive Power Morphicon 2014 Ranger Key Pack, had a 5″ Super Megaforce Legendary Ranger figure, AND made it into the finale of Power Ranger Super Megaforce!

As the first ranger ever to be solely featured in Power Rangers (Lightspeed Rescue) with no sentai counterpart for his basis, Titanium Ranger is one of the most unique creations in the entire Power Rangers franchise. Appreciation for the Titanium Ranger & Rhett Fisher himself has been on the rise for years. It’s no coincidence that the last few years have been very kind to the character. We here at TokuNation are proud to celebrate another Titanium Ranger Day!

Feel free to click “discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to join our Titanium Ranger Day discussion thread. And while you’re at it follow the handy links below to check out a hefty selection of Titanium Ranger photo galleries we’ve posted previously:

NYCC 2015 – Questions and Answers with Bandai America

Posted on October 11, 2015 at 2:36 pm by Chris under Conventions, New York Comic Con, Power Rangers

Our very own Sentai Tamashii is attending New York Comic Con 2015 and had some time to sit down with Greg Mitchell from Bandai America. We had asked on our @TokuNation Twitter account for some of the questions you guys had for Bandai America, as well as some of our own.

We asked around 12 questions and got answers for pretty much all of them!  More Ranger Keys … we remind them which ones not to forget (and it looks like they almost did!).  A 5″ Talon Ranger figure?  Why does the Legacy line continue to rise in price – especially that $80 Falonzord?  And does the Legacy Thunder Megazord have that attack sled formation?  We got the answers!  Click on “Read More” to read our Q&A!

Premium Bandai Teases Gokaiger Lost Ranger Key Legend!

Posted on August 3, 2015 at 12:45 am by Kiryu under Super Sentai

In a rather surprise announcement, Premium Bandai just launched a new web page with a teaser featuring Gokai Red from Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

Based on available translations from their tweets this appears to be a “Lost Ranger Key Legend” set. What exactly that means is unclear currently. But it may imply that the various extra heroes and minor one-off rangers of the franchise, who didn’t quite make the cut in this toyline the first time, could be getting the Premium key treatment? Or maybe it’s an artisan rendition of the Mobirates itself? It’s any number of possibilities!

For now that’s all we have to go on but we’ll keep you up to date as more news becomes available. Specifically on August 7th when the reveal of more information on this set will occur!

SDCC 2015: TokuNation Interviews Bandai of America

Posted on July 12, 2015 at 11:48 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

Rounding out our coverage of San Diego Comic Con 2015 we have a couple gems to share with you. Our own Kickback just sat down with Bandai of America for an interview on current & upcoming products and a few other goodies fans have been clamoring for with Power Rangers Legacy & Dino Charge.

Starting things off we discussed Power Rangers Legacy items. These releases were apparently never meant to be chronological like collectors had assumed, it happened to just turn out that way. Bandai knows that the Ninja & Shogun Megazords as well as the Falconzord are all very obvious choices for the future. Power Rangers Zeo is also internally very popular. They also think a Legacy Gold Zeo Ranger Staff is a interesting idea ;) Legacy Tor was mentioned as well but as a whole they don’t want to destroy collectors’ wallets.

The Thunder Megazord shown at SDCC should be able to assumed the Assault Team sled mode, but they’ll get with their designers and give us an answer post-con. The Legacy Blade Blaster displayed was entirely a mock-up as the retail version wasn’t ready yet. They would like to do a role play item and a mech/figure item together if possible kinda like Saba and Tigerzord. Again they don’t want to break the bank. Fans have also asked recently about a Black & Gold Dragonzord, so we posed that question to Bandai. There response is “would fans buy it?”

For Dino Charge Bandai still asserts that if a Ranger appears in show, of which there’s likely to be 11 between DC & Supercharge, then there’s a very good chance to see it in toy form.  When asked about any possible gender swaps or sash swaps in the show, they referred back to the first answer. Bandai is also taking this position with Megazords, if it appears in the show footage it’s very likely to receive a toy. Villain figures are a key point of interest to Bandai as well since this is the first time since MMPR that waves are predominantly villains. Poisandra however is still cloudy. While Bandai is looking into it, it depends entirely on the characters trajectory in the show. They simply don’t know currently. The same can be said for why no Supercharge items were displayed – if it hasn’t been revealed in the show then they can’t necessarily show it in toy form without approval from Saban Brands.

Fans of Ranger Keys from Super Megaforce will also be sobered a bit.  Currently no plans for more Ranger Keys as the play pattern is no longer current.  Speaking of exclusives Bandai confirmed that they are upping their game for New York Comic Con to match the cons size. They will have an exclusive of some kind for this years show.

Bandai of America takes the fan opinion very seriously. They also want to cater to collectors and use the Legacy line as well as conventions to try and do that. They encourage fans to let them know what they think at conventions and such.

We’d like to thank Bandai of America for their time over the weekend for answering our questions and being awesome in general. The team is super excited for the future and can’t wait to show you what’s in store next. They hope you’ll come see them at this year’s NYCC.

Power Rangers Super Megaforce Ranger Keys – Jungle Fury Ranger Keys Set B Gallery

Posted on June 4, 2015 at 2:26 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The end of the retail release of the Ranger Keys toy line from Power Rangers Super Megaforce has come – the final keys have been released at Toys’R’Us stores. That being said – we decided to take a look at these keys in what we’re calling the Ranger Key Celebration Week here at TokuNation.com!

Before we look at the Power Rangers Jungle Fury B assortment of Ranger Keys, please take a moment and check out our previous Ranger Key galleries!

– Power Morphicon – Titanium Ranger & Wolf Ranger Exclusive Key Set
– Zeo Ranger Keys – Set A & B
– Lost Galaxy Ranger Keys Set B
– Operation Overdrive Ranger Keys Set B
– Wild Force Ranger Keys Set B
– Samurai Ranger Keys Set B
– Time Force Ranger Keys Set B
– In Space Ranger Keys Set B
– Dino Thunder Ranger Keys Set B

Easily one of the best sets in the bunch, the Power Rangers Super Megaforce – Power Rangers Jungle Fury Ranger Keys Set B comes with three awesome Ranger Keys – a translucent Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger Key, a translucent Jungle Fury Yellow Ranger Key, and a Jungle Fury Rhino Ranger Key. For those who don’t remember – the Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger was one of the finalists Ranger Keys from the Morphin Madness contest from 2014 but ultimately did not end up in the Final 5 Winners. The normal version (well, kind of normal) of this Ranger Key was available as a Power Morphicon 2015 exclusive. You can find that gallery, which also features the Titanium Ranger, by clicking here. This set completes your Power Rangers Jungle Fury Ranger Keys collection – the Jungle Fury Red Ranger, Jungle Fury Blue Ranger, and normal version of Jungle Fury Yellow Ranger were released in the initial release of the Ranger Keys.

Speaking of which – how cool is it to have a translucent key of a female Ranger? It turned out real nice and we’re big fans of it.

Check out the full 25 image gallery by clicking here or by clicking the “Discuss” link at the end of the post. Do you plan to pick up this set, or have you already? Is this not one of the best sets of the entire wave? Sound off in our discussion thread!

The Power Rangers Super Megaforce – Power Rangers Dino Thunder Ranger Keys Set B set comes with three different Ranger Keys – a translucent Dino Thunder Red Ranger, a translucent Dino Thunder Black Ranger, and the Dino Thunder White Ranger. To have a complete set of Power Rangers Dino Thunder Ranger Keys, you’d need to pick up the Legendary Morpher Gift Set, which came with the Dino Thunder Yellow Ranger in a 20 Ranger Keys assortment. There was no key created for the Dino Thunder Triassic Ranger, mostly because it was a power-up form (although it would have been pretty awesome to get one).

Power Rangers Super Megaforce Ranger Keys – In Space Ranger Keys Set B

Posted on June 4, 2015 at 2:12 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The end of the retail release of the Ranger Keys toy line from Power Rangers Super Megaforce has come – the final keys have been released at Toys’R’Us stores. That being said – we decided to take a look at these keys in what we’re calling the Ranger Key Celebration Week here at TokuNation.com!

Before we look at the Power Rangers In Space B assortment of Ranger Keys, please take a moment and check out our previous Ranger Key galleries!

– Lost Galaxy Ranger Keys Set B

– Time Force Ranger Keys Set B

The Power Rangers Super Megaforce – Power Rangers In Space Ranger Keys Set B comes with three different Ranger Keys – a translucent In Space Red Ranger, a translucent In Space Blue Ranger, and a In Space Yellow Ranger! Unfortunately, the In Space Pink Ranger was never released at retail and there are no plans currently for her to be released. If you wanted the In Space Silver Ranger you would need to pick up the Legendary Morpher Gift Set, of which he was one of 20 different Ranger Keys included in the set.

The best key out of the set is easily the translucent In Space Blue Ranger – but that’s just our opinion. Check out 25 images by clicking here or by clicking the “Discuss” link at the end of the post. Did you pick up this set? Do you like it? What was the best key in this set in your opinion? Sound off in our discussion thread!
