Bluefin Hints at Toy Fair 2013 News to Come…

Posted on January 27, 2013 at 5:27 am by baltanii under Godzilla, Toy Fair

Are you pondering what I’m pondering? After the hint Bluefin‘s official Twitter account left just a few hours ago, I sure hope so!

After some similar but more vague teases about what Bluefin would be showing off on behalf of Bandai and Tamashii Nation at the New York Toy Fair this year, this little bombshell was dropped.

S.H. MonsterArts was already expected to make a showing at the event, but this hint… more Godzilla? Of the older variety, perhaps?!

Speculate away, because there’s sure to be more hype as we approach Toy Fair in a few weeks!

S.H. MonsterArts Destoroyah Evolution Set – Bluefin Release Confirmed!

Posted on January 24, 2013 at 3:34 am by baltanii under Godzilla

Zangyack and cyclones and crabs, oh my! Tonight has marked a flurry of activity as Tamashii Web is updating with the latest exclusives in their various lines in June. Prime among them is the long-anticipated and hinted S.H. MonsterArts “accessory” set intended to complete the upcoming Destoroyah release, from Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995). As reported last week, a leaked scan from Figure-Oh magazine with the name, price, and release month was quickly followed by newer scans earlier today and finally leading to the official Bandai announcement, product listing on Tamashii Webshop, and even confirmation from Bluefin that the set would be coming to the US!

The Destoroyah Evolution Set unfortunately includes no known effect parts, but still accessorizes well with the Destoroyah Final Form coming to Japan in February, expected in the US in March. The set includes three different stages in the growth of the Precambrian crustacean – a less-developed Crab, the infamous Aggregate Form which fought Godzilla Junior in the film, and the rarely-produced-in-plastic Flying Form which preceded the monstrous final form. All three figures are appropriated scaled to their final form as well as prior releases Burning Godzilla and Godzilla Junior and will be available in June at a cost of 8400 yen according to both the earlier scans and the Tamashii Web listing. Bluefin will be releasing the Destoroyah Evolution Set in North America as announced mere minutes ago on their Facebook page with pricing and date to be determined.

Our First "Video" of Kyoryuger in Action!

Posted on January 19, 2013 at 4:02 am by baltanii under Super Sentai

Anxious to see the first appearance of Juuden Sentai Kyoryuger, straight from their cameo appearance in the current Sentai film Go-Busters vs. Gokaiger? Sadly, you’ll have to wait a few months yet for that cameo… but even if you can’t hit a Japanese theater to see them for yourself, we do have something to tide you over until Kyoryuger officially starts!

Courtesy of news sleuth DecaEnd, we have an audio-only clip of their cameo appearance from the film! A very eager Kyoryu Red shows up on the scene to help Captain Marvelous and the rest and… well, listen for yourself (DecaEnd has graciously included English captions)! Note that video playback will not work here – allow the video below to redirect you to listen to the clip.

Visit our friends at Henshin Justice to link to the audio.

Thanks to fellow TokuNation.com member xSkullheartx for the heads-up! Be sure to stick with us at TokuNation.com for all your Kyoryuger news as we approach the premiere on February 17!

Happy Birthday Godzilla! Bandai Got You Something… More Destoroyah!

Posted on November 3, 2012 at 7:29 pm by baltanii under Godzilla

As always, Bandai‘s Tamashii Nations keeps a rotating display of current and upcoming figures in their Akihabara showroom. This weekend happens to mark the 58th birthday of everyone’s favorite radioactive dinosaur Godzilla and the showroom display had a nice surprise in store for the Big G to celebrate.

Here we have our first look at S.H. MonsterArts Destoroyah, not only in the already-announced Final Form, but the Aggregate and Flying Forms! There are no details known beyond the figures existing, but considering the usual MonsterArts release pattern, these figures likely compose a new Tamashii Web Exclusive release in Japan while being offered by Bluefin in North America!

Join our discussion and the birthday celebration for Godzilla by hitting the Reply button. We will be sure to update you here on TokuNation.com as more details are available!

UPDATE: First Image of S.H. MonsterArts Biollante!

Posted on October 25, 2012 at 3:39 am by baltanii under Godzilla

UPDATE:[/u] Fresh off the presses from Tamashii Nation 2012! We have our very first, but certainly not our last, image of the upcoming S.H. MonsterArts Biollante! Please also note the bits of Godzilla cut from the right edge of the photo… suggesting that Biollante isn’t the only titular star of Godzilla vs. Biollante to come from Bandai!

PREVIOUSLY: As many fellow TokuNation.com members and fans have noticed, the very first reveals of this year’s annual Tamashii Nation event have begun to trickle through. Not to be left out, our friends at Bluefin have been joining in the fun, all but confirming mere moments before an image was revealed that Sailor Moon would finally receive some much-needed attention!

However, Bluefin was also gracious enough to toss their tokusatsu fans a bone with a couple of cryptic but very revealing tweets from their official Twitter account that something else was coming. And she might be hungry…

Know what “she” is? Totally befuddled? Don’t worry, someone is sure to explain in our discussion! Expect more hints and, better yet, pictures from Tamashii Nation’s 5th Anniversary event in the coming hours and weekend, and we’ll have them all for you here at TokuNation.com!
