The Kyoryu Violet Rumor Mill

Posted on June 24, 2013 at 2:04 am by Den-O under Super Sentai

Apparently some new info has begun circulating about the soon to be revealed 9th Kyoryuger, Kyoryu Violet! According to information via AlphaHeroShock Kyoryu Violet’s actor will be none other than Shigeru Chiba! If you don’t know already Mr. Chiba is not only the narrator of the series but also the voice of the Gaburevolver itself!

According to the info provided his character will Doctor Ulshade, the first person of the modern age to be a Kyoryuger! Also, he’s alive, meaning he won’t be a Spirit Ranger like Ramirez and Tesai. Actually Doctor Ulshade is also the man who created the Gaburevolvers explaining why the Spirit Rangers do not use revolvers. It would also seem that he is not a currently active Kyoryuger because he wanted a quiet and peaceful life.

Mr. Chibas’ tweets from a couple weeks ago, those pertaining to him filming a henshin scene, would certainly indicate that this rumor is true.

S.H. Monsterarts Biollante Release Info!

Posted on June 22, 2013 at 3:01 am by Den-O under Godzilla

Thanks to Tokunation member Lbsammills51 for pointing us to this info. The current wave of Figure Oh scans making the rounds has revealed release info for none other than S.H. Monsterarts Biollante!

This massive monster will be a Tamashii Web Exclusive with an almost assured Bluefin release for the US market. Standing 30 CM tall, that’s nearly 12″, and she will also feature a chest LED gimmick, the first of its kind for this line! Now the bad news is the price. This bad girl will run you a whopping 23,100 yen which by today’s exchange rate is $242! The price may be high but by comparison to the other larger figures of the line (Ghidorah, Destroyah) a high price tag like this is not unexpected.

Celebrate 13 Years of Lightspeed Rescue

Posted on June 21, 2013 at 1:26 am by Den-O under Power Rangers

Tokunation has been doing tribute after tribute each month to the various seasons of Power Rangers. This month is no different, but our focus is, and this time it’s Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue! This year marks the 13th Anniversary of the show as well. Based on KyuKyu Sentai GoGoV, Lightspeed Rescue is definitely a fan favorite series.

Whether it’s because of Red Ranger Carter Grayson, or the first truly US exclusive ranger Titanium Ranger, or the expansion of the Battlizers this time used by Red Green & Blue Rangers, there’s a huge fanbase for this season! And with all the anniversary talk the cast members actually met up recently for a small 13th anniversary get together! This show had so much to offer fans with it’s more public safety/protect & serve rangers and their public identities.

To celebrate follow the links and check out 2 classic GoGoV Minipla galleries by Tokunation Photo & Content staff member MoonBaseTom. These vintage candy toy/Minipla kits are tough to find but incredibly fun and detailed for their time.

Go-Busters V-Cinema: Dobutsu Sentai Henshin Sequence

Posted on June 14, 2013 at 1:44 pm by Den-O under Super Sentai

Busters, Ready, Go!

While the retail release for Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Vs. Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters isn’t for sale yet, the rental version is out now! And with it we get our first looks at the transformation sequences for the Animal Go-Busters; Red Cheetah, Blue Gorilla, Yellow Rabbit, Gold Beetle, Silver Stag, Green Hippopotamus, Black Puma, and Pink Cat!

It’s worth noting that that Green Hippopotamus’ actor is actually also the voice actor for buddyroid Usada Lettuce! In this alternate world where Messiah was never built the Go-Busters took very different paths in life, becoming a more “traditional” set of sentai characters. Commander Kuroki is Black Puma, and Hiromu’s sister Rika is Pink Cat. 2 worlds collide on June 21st!
