Bandai America Announces Cancellation of Legacy Super Zeo Gems

Posted on July 6, 2018 at 4:55 pm by Chris under Uncategorized

While they never officially announced the the Power Rangers Zeo Legacy Super Zeo Gems, the listing was discovered (and shared) with us via Amazon.com earlier this year. Today on Twitter, Bandai America responded to @PowerRangerTalk stating: “Yeah this one unfortunately isn’t happening anymore. Again, with the changeover a lot of things have been thrown into limbo/taken off the table. The good news is, there are still a few items up our sleeve that we haven’t announced yet that we’re extremely excited about!”.

However, they do have some surprises left in store for the Power Rangers line before Hasbro takes over in Spring 2019. Stay tuned for more news and information from Bandai America here at TokuNation!

Numerous Power Rangers Trademarks Show New Activity

Posted on July 2, 2018 at 7:41 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

The company known as Saban Brands is no more, and thus it is time for the trademark machine to go in to full haywire mode. Mega Power Brasil alerted us to a quick piece of information that, upon further investigation, yielded some interesting results. Check out the list of trademarks below that had some changes done recently.

– Kyu Rangers (originally filed June 2017)
Fans will immediately recognize the name as belonging to the Japanese counterpart Uchu Sentai Kyuranger, which many fans thought was the obvious heir to Super Ninja Steel. Instead we have Beast Morphers for 2019 and 2020. However, an extension was filed for Kyu Rangers last week. This may be nothing more than Saban Brands, prior to closing its doors, looking to lock up any loose ends or pending trademarks before the Hasbro takeover of the brand.

– Ghost Ranger(s) (originally filed December 2016)
Not much is known about this trademark. It showed up in December of 2016 with the usual descriptions (including a trademark for television). But it was just recently granted a second extension in mid-June.

– Power Morph (originally filed March 2018)
The trademark for this phrase involves interactive things such as sporting goods and games. It is currently in the “extension of time for opposition”, meaning a third party has filed for an extension of time to determine whether or not to challenge the trademark.

– Phantom Ranger (originally filed August 2017)
This one should be pretty easy to guess. It is ironic to note that aside from Red/Blue/Black/Yellow/Pink/Green/White and “Ghost”, this is the only other named Power Ranger trademarked. It was granted a first extension.

– Beast Morphers (originally filed January 2018)
Ironically, this one is currently an extension of time to file for opposition, meaning a third party has paused the trademark to review whether or not to challenge it.

So what does all this meaning? Honestly, probably nothing. Again – when a company has its intellectual properties purchased by another company, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes legal stuff that has to happen. The “file for opposition” could very well be Hasbro.

What do you think? Tweet us @TokuNation and give us your thoughts – we’d love to discuss it with you!

Posted on July 2, 2018 at 4:52 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

Today is July 2nd and the company Saban Brands is no more. We saw via social media late last week that employees of Saban Brands were moving out of the office – but moving to where? Now we know! Melissa Flores has been part of the creative team behind the everything for Power Rangers including both the television show and the comic, as has Brian Casentini who also has the title of Executive Producer for Power Rangers Ninja Steel.

If any other names drop we will be sure to let you know. Congratulations to Jason, Melissa, and Brian on their new roles. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for Power Rangers under Hasbro!

SDCC 2018 – Power Rangers in Space Legacy Psycho Silver is Entertainment Earth Exclusive

Posted on June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am by Chris under Conventions, Power Rangers, San Diego Comic Con

As we enter a brand new age of Power Rangers toys and collectibles we are definitely ending the previous era with a bang! Revealed earlier this morning, a skew of Power Rangers toys are being offered as convention exclusives at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Even more shocking – not all of them are being offered through Bandai America.

The Legacy Psycho Silver figure will be available at San Diego Comic Con at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) for $45. You can pre-order any remaining figures from the show by clicking here.

One of the most anticipated wave of figures from Bandai America‘s Legacy 6.5″ collector line is the Psycho Rangers. We had confirmation that the original five (Red, Blue, Black, Pink, Yellow) were being released and as soon as they were, fans began to ask about Psycho Silver. As you recall, the Power Rangers In Space battled valiantly against the Psycho Rangers but always got bested by them until they realized each Psycho is programmed to best fight against the same color. As the Power Rangers lay exhausted, Psycho Silver appears and quickly finishes them off. His arrogance at fighting all the colored Rangers causes infighting amongst the Psychos until Psycho Blue injures his comrades in an attempt to fight the Blue Ranger himself. It is at that point we learn that the Psycho Silver is actually the In Space Silver Ranger, and together with the other Power Rangers In Space, destroy Psycho Blue.

From the official order page:

Entertainment Earth Convention Exclusive! “We’re the Psycho Rangers. We’re faster than you. Smarter than you. Stronger than you. But we’re evil!” From the Power Rangers in Space TV series, comes this Power Rangers in Space Legacy Psycho Silver Ranger Action Figure – Entertainment Earth Exclusive. The evil counterpart of the Silver Ranger from Power Rangers in Space makes his appearance in the Legacy line of highly detailed and articulated action figures from Bandai as this collectible 6 1/2-inch tall figure. With show-accurate styling and premium decoration, there are 21 points of articulation and a muscular, heroic design that’s perfect for play or display! Great for adult collectors and kids alike, the Psycho Silver Ranger comes in premium Legacy packaging.

NOTE: This item will first be sold at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343. If supplies remain after the show, your order will be filled and shipped to you then, in August 2018. We reserve the right to limit quantities ordered.

Order your SDCC 2018 Legacy Psycho Silver figure now.

Massive Power Rangers Legacy Restock Coming December 2018

Posted on June 22, 2018 at 9:00 am by Chris under Power Rangers

In either an attempt to cash-in at the end of their master toy license deal or cleaning out magical mythological warehouses, Bandai America has listed through EntertainmentEarth.com a massive influx of older Legacy Power Rangers items with a December 2018 release date. This will be your last chance to own these classic and someday vintage items before Hasbro begins full production of product for the Power Rangers brand. Check out the listings below.

– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Power Morpher
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Green Ranger / White Ranger Morpher
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Dragonzord
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Thunder Megazord
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Tigerzord
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Ninja Megazord
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Falconzord
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Dragon Dagger
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers White Ranger Saba Sword
– Legacy Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Blade Blaster

Ironically (or not), all these items were originally exclusive to Toys’R’Us and later made available through online retailers in secondary releases or post initial wave releases. However, if you missed one (looking at you, Saba) now is your chance to grab one before you can only ever pay aftermarket.
