Hasbro Inc., known for their mainstream brands such as Transformers, My Little Pony, G.I. Joe, Monopoly, Battleship, and so much more, announced the pending deal that would land them the various properties of Saban Brands, including Power Rangers, has been completed as reported by Yahoo! Finance.

“Power Rangers will benefit from execution across Hasbro’s Brand Blueprint and distribution through our omni-channel retail relationships globally,” said Brian Goldner, Hasbro’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Informed by engaging, multi-screen entertainment, a robust and innovative product line and consumer products opportunities all built on the brand’s strong heritage of teamwork and inclusivity, we see a tremendous future for Power Rangers as part of Hasbro’s brand portfolio.”

Hasbro Inc. paid a total of $522 million for the rights to Power Rangers as well as other properties with Saban Brands. The first product available from Hasbro of Power Rangers will be available Spring 2019 at retailers, and our first look may come next month at San Diego Comic Con.

In today’s Hasbro Strategic Decisions Conference, CEO of Hasbro Inc., Brian Goldner, spoke to the audience regarding the acquisition of the Power Rangers master toy license as well as the impending acquisition of the brand as a whole. Brian’s statement is quoted below:

“As I mentioned, we’ve now announced the acquisition of Power Rangers. This is really a great statement about where we believe we are in develping our brand blueprint. The fact that we can acquire Power Rangers brand and plug and play that right into our strategy where we activate it in entertainment, motion pictures in the future and then of course across toys and games and consumer products and do so globally. We felt the brand was very under leveraged and undervalued. We feel we can exploit it to a much greater extent and it was a great opportunity to acquire the brand.” – Brian Goldner, Hasbro Inc. CEO

This revelation will obviously come as great news for fans of the Power Rangers franchise who, last year, enjoyed their first major motion picture in 20 years. As many are well aware, the Power Rangers movie released at higher than expected numbers domestically, but overall failed to capture any audience globally, limping its way in to $142 million worldwide.

The Kamen Rider Build series is currently blasting out exciting episode one after another and in the latest episode we saw yet another power up form for Kamen Rider Cross-Z – this one being the Great Cross-Z and Dragon Evol Bottle combination turning Ryuga Banjo in to Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z! The Power Rangers continues its 25th anniversary celebration at this year’s annual San Diego Comic Con event. Bluefin Tamashii Nations – known for their stateside release of S.H. Figuarts and most recently the Soul of Chogokin Megazord – have teased their exclusive for this year. A simple image of the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord standing in front of the Dinozords from Soul of Chogokin Megazord.

The Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord is set to release this August and will combine with the Soul of Chogokin Megazord. The Soul of Chogokin line is akin to a “masterpiece style” release of robotic nature items featuring accurate-to-source-material detail with diecast parts and increased articulation. If the Legacy Dragonzord impressed you, the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord will blow you away.

Featuring characters from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Wild Force, Power Rangers SPD, Power Rangers Mystic Force, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, Power Rangers Megaforce, Power Rangers Super Megaforce, and Power Rangers Dino Charge.
