NECA Pacific Rim Future Figures Announced

MTV Geek has posted an exclusive interview with NECA, and they revealed new figures coming in future waves! Some interesting information was relayed…did you know that the upcoming 18 Inch Gipsy Danger is a nod to the old Shogun Warriors line from the 70’s?! Some Kaiju are huge and would be too expensive to feature in the line, so NECA decided to create figures of Kaiju that were close to their targeted pricepoint. Series 2 will feature:

  • Leatherback who they described as a “enormous, huge and heavy chunk of plastic”
  • Striker Eureka
  • Battle Damaged Gipsy Danger with chain sword accessories

As this month draws to a close we are mere weeks away from the premiere of Pacific Rim! For those of you looking forward to the 7″ scale NECA Pacific Rim Figures be sure to check out Toys R Us, as they’ve been sighted there this month! There’s more news concerning the movie itself:

Feast your eyes on TV spot 6:

That’s not all, check out the newest Pacific Rim trailer, “At The Edge”:

Also for those of you who intend to watch Pacific Rim in IMAX, check out an IMAX poster designed by Sergio Grisanti! The poster was revealed by Hero Complex. Here’s more on the poster by director Guillermo del Toro:

“I am thrilled to introduce Sergio Grisanti to the world,” Del Toro said in a statement. “For years he has been a highly respected commercial artist. When I was first exposed to his art for ‘Pacific Rim,’ I knew instantly that he was a powerhouse of talent. He created the Jaeger posters/card art we used at WonderCon. Without any hesitation I asked him to create this new Imax Fanfix art. Look at it closely — with a magnifying glass! So much going on! Such power! Such beauty! Sergio loves his Kaijus and his Mecha, and it shows. The poster, like my film, is a tribute to well-loved things. I wish all the fans the best time at the first Imax screenings of ‘Pacific Rim.’ Enjoy!”

Also, an important note about the poster!

The limited-edition poster was created specifically as part of Imax’s Fanfix series and will be available exclusively at the first Imax showings of “Pacific Rim,” which soldiers into theaters July 12.
